  • This is a voice. I wish today's singers, gaga and others, would take note.

  • I love the clarity in her voice.

  • @tapestryofgrace4u Me too : )

  • This was an unusual arrangement by Hugo Winterhalter. Rather than his ususual touches it sounds very much as if he is following the example of David Terry in arranging Joni James' big hits at M-G-M Records in this same time period, particularly in the interplay of sings and horns and particularly the haunting use of French horns.

  • Jaye P's singing drips with gorgeousness on this cut. She was a great, underrated big-band jazzbo from the 50's.

And I LOVED her late-70's incarnation as a cheeky DYKE on "The Gong Show!" Why must a serious artist always be serious? Hmm?

BTW, Jaye P. cut an unreleased 1983 album that includes a KILLER cover of Sting's "Every Breath You Take." This rare CD is floating around on the Internet at outrageous prices.

  • Jane's voice more than compensated for any risque trait she had. She was blessed with a rare talent, and this posting proves it.

Thank you for sharing this gem.

  • The song then became the title track for a Jerri Adams L.P. on Columbia.

  • JP use to appear frequently on a game show called "You Don't Say " hosted by Tom Kennedy. Maybe her name caused too much confusion. with Jane Morgan who sang "Fascination". Shw was a great talent and she was controversial,

  • She was quite a beauty and had a wonderful voice. It is sad that she didn't seem to go further. She was still very attractive during her Gong show days. She did make some rather risque remarks on there which weren't nessessary.

  • Lol, she had her own show in the mid/late 50's, & toured extensivley, was on Johnny Carson a lot, Mike Douglas Show, Merv Griffin, over 10 of the top Variety Shows.... etc, etc... she has a bio online.

  • I love to hear her do this kind of song-a "tough" Doris Day with a vulnerable side.

She had a couple of more songs like this that I really liked: "My Bewildered Heart" and "If you don't want my love."

I don't know why she didn't farther as a singer-She's proved that she could have made the transition to rock and roll, she was attractive and likeable.

Unfortunately, her antics and vulgarity on game and talk shows in the 70's took away her credibility.
