  • Till this day nobody knows what the hell De La Soul talks about on their records. One of the favorite groups of all time!! Genius, sooooooo ahead of their time

  • I was a 19 year old honky metalhead when this album came out and I fell in love with it. This music changed everything I thought about music and people. Was damn near religious!

  • I cant believe this album is not found on itunes!

  • @mariohiph Stupid ass Tommy Boy Recs are for some reason not putting up De La's discography for digital sale. The group themselves say they are working on it, so hopefully we'll witness the first 6 De La albums as available in iTunes and other digital places soon!

  • One of the greatest hip hop albums ever. No one is brave enough these days to step up like De La (& the Native Tongues i.e. ATCQ, Jungle Bros.) did back in the day. Although Hip Hop back in the day had a lot more integrity than most today. Crap played on the radio is "Dumbed Down" to the lowest "Common" denominator to have "Mass Appeal". Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal RIP.

  • song is dope

  • All those in favour, take a big step....

  • If you hate on this, I fucking hate you.

  • why are the vocals so low on this album i cant really hear the lyrics or is is just youtube, cuz i dont have the cd

  • @PaddingtonBurr It's the CD and this track in general, it was ALWAYS a LOW vocal. Shame because they are saying some on point stuff.

  • great song. check the original too. bra by cymande! they keep it funkky

  • that loop... that loop!! prince paul is god

  • now i can understand why gorillaz worked together with de la soul,

    the unique style :)

  • mmmmmdanggg. i used to love this song when i was growing up in 1990s Virginia. xD

  • one of my all time favorite tracks on the album!!!!!!

  • bra -cymande

  • i am a fuckin african and i like de la soul, they do have dope samples soft rap like trbe called quest thats wussup, this album is a bomb, time bomb peace to the old school rap 1971 2001

  • When all that really mattered is how you flip expressions and toss around words all the while riding on wild beats and sounds....nowadays, it's speech impediments and feeble minded rhyming....

  • De La Soul deserves their props. They are true pioneers of Hip Hop

  • I love the flows and the instru ! One of my fav tracks with Eye know, Ghetto thang and Say No Go.

  • listen to cymande.

  • @MitchellGhazali Listen to the "Mad Lads" No Strings Attached" Horn sample and the GRUNT Hmmph!

  • U cannot consider yourself a fan of real hip hop and not love this album. So unique musically and lyrically. By far 1 of the greatest hip hop albums ever and thats just not in the realm of hip hop. In all genres of music. PERIOD. CLASSIC.

  • @dpat2004 thats actually just your opinion. there a various types of hip hop. this only being a small minority. so yes i can consider myself a fan of real hip hop and not like this as real hip hop started underground... this is about as underground as barrack obama.

  • @MizzRisque well put.

  • @dpat2004 i agree, bigtime

  • @dpat2004 yo tru dat

  • @dpat2004 so true so true so true!!!

  • @dpat2004 you are 100 % correct man it's a total master piece.

  • @dpat2004 all hip hop is real hip hop. hip hop is hip hop.

  • one of my favorite all time albums classic nevah be a nother like it

  • With all this 'big ball' rap...this album was pretty gutsy...and damn funky!!! ...and still goin strong with tracks like 'Held Down'.

  • Hell yeah. I remember when hip hop wasn't about how big a bank account you could get with a single, but about making something you could still pick up 20 years later and enjoy.

  • This whole album goes hard!!!!

  • @jpmiller999 as do i upon listening ;)

  • gotta dig this album out again, i know i have it somewhere. Forgot how good it is!

  • bad ass jam...heard this at amoeba records on sunset blvd. the other day and i got nostalgic...great post man keep up the good work
