sirens are spoustie to sound in alert for torando warnings the attack is for sereve T-storm warnings or something like that it might verie on city NSP does only alert warnings that I know of
Wow, thanks for posting! I remember that was a few days before my highschool grad party. I watched the wall cloud coming closer and closer and then BAM! rain. I spent the rest of the evening in the basement calming my dog down haha.
I live in Eden Prairie and by the time that storm came 2 Hennepin county it was only severe warned with 70mph sustained winds we still had sirens though
@lionsforlyons I think I knew what I shall look for, I've watched storm chasers on youtube, so I think I knew cirka what I shall look for. But thanks for try to help me.
One question I'am travelling through Tennesse Oklahoma and Arkansas next summer, and I'am from Norway how does I reconize it's going to be a tornado???
I remember this. I was sleeping, and I woke upat like 6am, the sky was blood red. Then I turned on the T.V, and my dad called and freaked out in my ear about going downstairs. It was 'cool' but freaky at the same time. But when it started downporing, in the evening, I took a walk outside. |D
You've got the wrong date, this didn't happen at 6:00 AM, That was the July 27th storm your talking about. A tornado warning was issued for McCleod county at about 6:00 AM.
i had to move to norht carolina because last year i lived in greensburge and we were hit by a ef5 tornado.....it destroyed our house...ever since i have been fascinated by tornadoes and respect their power
Why are those sirens running on attack mode, should iy they be on stedy wail? Because that's how they are around here in the Twin Cities and it's suburbs.
Lol, when there are 5 tornado warnings at once, and there headed your way, and there are baseball and football games going on at the same time, I would sound the sirens in attack too.
I think they should be on steady mode like they normaly do, however if a tornado is heading right for your community/neigborhood, run them on attack mode. lol
@Tabby266 I never knew that! I am used to hearing the alert mode. I only hear the attack mode when testing is done. It would not be a bad idea to run the sirens on attack mode for Cities, Communities and Towns that have the greatest chance of getting hit when a tornado touchdown is reported. For example if Edina or Andover have the greatest chance, run those sirens on attack mode. That way we should have a much better idea.
@Worcester2007 Murrfarms and a partner of his installed a P-15in Milan, GA. It runs Alert for sever thunderstorm and Attack for when a tornado is on the ground.
Oh my god! I was scared stiff. I even ended up going to the basement that day. The sky here at around 7 or 8ish was really scary! I thought I saw a funnel formation. Although I don't even know if there was a tornado warning for Hennepin. Great video footage!

I remember this all too well. We were right under the wall cloud on the road, and we ended up seeking shelter in Menards.
I miss this type of thrill...now that it's 10 degrees outside and 3 inches of snow lol.

@Worcester2007 All towns can set their sirens to different tones for their preferences. I dont like steady, I like attack best.
