@macphisto80 I'm completely aware about the skill it takes to use photoshop respectively, and I credit that. It's just that, painting pixles is a cheap and artificial form of medium. As an artist myself, I'm discouraged to find that more and more people use photoshop other than pen&brush b/c it provides quick&easy to learn techniques where as contemporary art always has something new on the horizon. Theres only so much you can do digitally. And this art is becoming boring. Stretch some canvas!

@davidfreilich I have to disagree. What makes you think that you way is superior? Art is about individual expression. Both techniques require a great deal of practice, skill and dedication. This way has so many possibilities too. You could probably do more digitally than traditionally. I think this looks amazing. Some artists get stupidly famous for putting a splatter of paint on a canvas, and call it abstract. It's all about individual preferences. In art, there isn't a right and wrong.

Removed your comment by accident. Was meant to hit reply and hit remove by mistake. This was all done in one layer and I had to mask off Bourne to do the background. The white spot is probably just an artifact left by the masking outline.

I wouldn't say easier would be the right word. More like more convenient. Photoshop makes correcting mistakes and adding certain effects stupidly easier. You just can't go wrong with it, plus you don't have to mix paint or clean brushes or any of that shit!

Using a graphics tablet. And I'm not sure anything should ever replace traditional canvas and oil. No need to cut down trees using those subtrates and mediums.

Yes, I used Photoshop. And a graphics tablet is sort of like a digital notepad. It's a square peice of plastic that you plug into your PC and use a stylus pen to simulate a pen, brush or whatever with on it. Your actions are mimmicked on your PC screen. Google Wacom.

This one was one layer, yes. If you look at the part where I'm working on the background, you'll see I've had to mask Bourne off so I didn't run into him with the cursor and that the blur effect didn't blur him too.
