I'm not sure about this something purple your mentioning - but in the war he steps on a landmine, and he doesn't gradually loose body parts either... they pretty much all go at once :P (either that or they're amputated later) hence the lyrics "landmine - has taken my sight, taken my speech, taken my hearing, taken my arms, taken my legs, taken my soul, left me with life in hell."

Not that bad to be honest. And I know that this is a cover, but after the calm part of the song where it gets all intense...the vocals didn't back up that intensity of instruments. Just sayin, hope it helps. :D Its hard to match James Hetfields intensity when he sings though, looks like he's about to blow or something.

Not bad, but 3 things stick out at me.

1: Learn to palm mute. Seriously, the bridge sounds terrible without it.

2: Tweak your clean tone; it sounds horrible.

3: Ditch the electric drums. They're synthetic and flat sounding. Acoustics are the way to go.
