  • That keyboard shortcut bit was hilarious for those of us who know what they do

  • Sony Vegas: Poop on a stick.

  • Or just go in internet and donwload it for free :D

  • I use Adobe premiere elements 9

  • sony vegas for me! WMM sucks

  • roxio game capture

  • I had to replay the last few seconds to make sure I did see that pig.

  • sopa will fuck your shit up

  • oink

  • Premiere FTW!

  • Linux and opensource!!

  • oh my god cutest pig.

  • O_O?

  • camtasia nuff said

  • Most people tend to hate any software developed by Microsoft just cos it's Microsoft really.

  • @tombell12 Good example...go on to any simming forum, mae a new post called 'Microsoft Flight is brilliant, and better than all other MS Flight sims', and watch the fur fly!!!

  • Sony Vegas 10.0d

  • I USE PREMIERE!!! :)

  • cuuute pig

  • Final Cut Pro X is a piece of shit. Now, I use a Mac... but I still prefer Adobe Premiere Pro... BECAUSE IT WORKS ON BOTH WINDOWS AND MAC.

    Get the picture, Apple?

  • Son, just download it off PirateBay.

  • I very much agree with the pig.

  • i'll bet that pigs thinking "can anyone else smell shit?"

  • You should always *Cough* Download the crack *cough* buy the software you want to use.

  • How do you put those motion tracked text/pictures on the video? Like the *space*, *left Arrow*, etc...

  • Sony Vegas nuff said

  • he just promoted piracy!!!!!...IM CALLING THE POLICE!... (jk hes a true hero now)

  • @yothegamer doesnt matter! cops cant catch you for promoting it :D

  • I got Sony vegas for free... Oh yeah -_-

  • XD hahaha Pignose! At least pig-dog didn't show up and make everything weird and freaky. That is one angry hybrid - ugly as kcuf, too.

  • I'm sick and tired of using Movie Maker - it's crap! I'm definitely thinkin Adobe Premiere Pro. thanks for endorsing Adobe Premiere, Jory. You've just helped me confirm and conclude that it's the only way I should go. I've worked with Adobe Photoshop and even took a few computer courses back in college about it. I want/NEED to learn Adobe Premiere Pro and master it. HA BISKY for HD quality video making! FTW!

  • LOL PIGNOSE

  • "These things that I heard of once, called torrents." laughed my ass off...

  • I use wax. Wax 2.0 is free software that offers a lot of features expensive software has like full 3D rendering and hardware acceleration, rotomate and masking, unlimited layers, chroma key(it's not that great but there is other great free chroma key software out there), any resolution and codec, loading 3d models, and a crap load of other features. However, the only video files it can import are AVI.

  • 3 people use windows movie maker

  • we have the same logic when it comes to adobe programs, steal first buy later

  • Guys if you are like under 18 or can't afford that much. I recommend AVS editor

  • @geebtalks Hahaha

  • And if you use linux?

  • I use After Effects CS5.5.

  • If you really want to find out if editing is the right thing for you then get a small 3M Post-It Note pad and make a flip book. It will take many edits to get it right, and if you can live through that process then you might have what it takes to edit video.

  • 1:40 vagineer...

  • Where on earth did you find a pig?

  • I use Adobe premiere Pro as It was gifted to me for christmas :D

  • I use Movie Maker, but that's because I dont really make/edit videos

  • woow. The pig really sells it. F-ing genious

  • MOAR BOAR WANTS MOAR!!!

  • Piggy!

  • Arnold Palmers don't exist in Denmark I am VERY jealous of you, Joryman.

  • @MooseHeadMoosic you could make one......

  • @midget3052

    I am not Frankenstein I'm sorry >:

  • DO NOT USE AVID. i am in film school right now, and we use AVID. it sucks so bad!

Everyone in my class, including me loves Sony Vegas Pro. USE THAT!!

  • I know nothing of editing, neither do I care about editing, I was only hear because its Jory (no homo... actually maybe a bit of homo)

  • the URL seems to be mad again..

  • Sony Vegas ftw :)

  • @Dandthings No.

  • @Dandthings Sony Vegas? LOLOL!

It doesn't even make use of GPU rendering! That means videos take HOURS to render! Fuck that! I have a GTX470, I want to use it to its full potential!

  • Comment removed

  • I used to use Movie Maker, but I've upgraded to Cyberlink Powerdirector. Movie Maker is fine, all you haters just don't know how to use it correctly. But, Powerdirector is better.

  • so you may saying Is it a good idea to use Windows movie maker or Imovie?...ummm no because you'll learn only the base of the Editing so Bad Idea ^_^

  • Haha I like how when played backwards, Jory gets a Scottish/Irish accent.

  • I love how the vast majority of comments on this video is referring to the final 10 seconds of the video only.

  • I have to say, Jory, this is a very very clever video... I really love how you showed us how to edit as you did it using keyboard shortcuts... it was amazing.

  • i love the pig?

  • Nice to see you got a girlfriend :) Kidding!!

  • Man that pig looks good clean and in a barbecue pit

  • WHAT ABOUT VEGAS O.o

  • Jory, I couldn't quite understand what you said at the last few seconds of the video. Could you repeat that?

  • Dat pig.

  • dude the pig has shit on its nose dirty bastard

  • I enjoyed that pig I shall say

  • Pigs are fucking cool...

  • 3:04 that is me!!!

  • Sony Vegas is really the best.

  • @RobStillLives I concur

  • Imovie is just strange. The advantage, and disadvantage, movie maker has over it is that it's easy to throw together a quick stupid thing. iMovie isn't as usable that way, I ...obtained final cut the second time I tried to do a movie. Never going back.

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 And (rarely) Adobe After Effects CS5.5

  • Sony Vegas Pro is the sheet for PC

  • I HATE Windows Movie Maker. It must be the most crappy idiot program around..

  • @NicolasP200 correction, 5 most crappy idiot program

  • I probably have like a million dollars worth of software on my pc. All free.

  • I use Sony Vegas Pro 10

  • That was a cute ending. XD

  • Don't touch Avid, whatever you do. I work with one of their other products, Pro Tools, and they have an abysmal record for screwing their customers. It took them 6 months just to support OSX Lion, and they're really not very good at supporting 3rd parties. FCP or Premiere for the win though, I've used both and they're spot on

  • The ending made me lmao.

  • Jory, I was watching BASEketball today and realised something. You and Matt Stone (Y'know, the co-creator of South Park) look exactly the same.

  • Sony Vegas 10 Pro ftw.

  • Jory looks so happy when you play him backwards.

  • I use PowerDirector 10, and it's OK, I suppose.

  • No editing was needed in this video

  • Sony Vegas!!!

  • The pig makes a good point at the end.

  • i've been using sony vegas pro for about a year and it's a good program

  • What about Sony Vegas for editing?

  • yuck that pig has poop on the nose

  • what about opensource/gpl software?

  • Avid ... Thats not something i would advice youtube viewers ... Its highly complicated for beginners, its solely based on shortcuts and not something you can learn whiteout studying editing termologie. Premiere pro and final cut pro 7 are a like but not to professionals, i do use shortcuts and they are way different. Although, apple seriously disappointed me whit final cut pro X. And, if u wana go cheap but still semi pro, sony vegas is oke. Not something u wana use professionally but still.

  • wax, zweistein, blender, lightworks,

  • Did that pig have shit on his nose?

  • IF you can get it After Effects isn't too bad.

  • @dourabbawinner - But After Effects isn't an editing program...

  • @Jon I've used it as one but that was for animations. I was speaking generally. Thank you for pointing that out though. I would hate to confuse anyone who doesn't know any different.

  • @dourabbawinner - Right. I've actually heard of some who edit with it... not understanding it was built for effects, and layered work.

  • I used to use Final Cut but now I switched to CS and use Premier Pro. Not a fan of Avid, just like Windows, just because it is widely used doesn't mean to say it is good.

  • "Well, for editing Jory Caron opens Mail and Shit, the editing software I use is: getting somebody else to do it because I can't be bothered."

  • Jory this is important information. Adobe are happy for you to download their software illegally if you can't afford it.

  • @denton908 ....we just went over the grammar thing awhile ago, so i won't troll. :I lucky bastard.

  • what, no love for sony vegas?

  • Premiere CS5, because I'm used to the CS5 interface (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Soundbooth)

  • Oh and the video was really good too o.ob

  • Aww cute pig!

  • Aww that' is the cutest damn pig I've seen in a long time.

  • lmao torrents ftw xD

  • I'm eating a burger, thanks for the end clip =/

  • Premiere - for about 4 years. I've used Final cut a few times, which on the surface feels like a crippled version of premiere (Originally the same guys designed both apparently). Keyboard shortcuts are worth learning - speed up work dramatically but premiere could use macros/scripting capability though. I figure once someone knows a program well enough, it frees up (and constrains?) their creativity, so any of the pro level and many light versions are good enough for most creative storytelling.

  • Jory, what editing software would be good for someone who wants to do Let's Plays and has little editing know-how?

  • Lmao torrents ftw do not use public I've heard its bad

  • I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and Final Cut Pro 6, I prefer both and learned Final Cut Pro 6 first, also, like you said, they are very similar so they are both fast to learn if you know one or the other. Don't get Final Cut Pro X it is terrible.

  • have you seen Mattg's mini dishwasher? oh the capabilities for spoofing there are

  • You didnt mention sony vegas pro, its pretty much the same as final cut pro except for pc

  • Wow! just as I finished my first Arnold Paulmer, Jory Caron bought one....................

  • I am in high school and an avid photographer/cinematographer as well- I even use fancy werds- but in all seriousness, I got some info from a friend of mine who does this kinda stuff for a living, and he had two main things to tell me:

    1) Don't go to photography school

    2) Use Premier Pro, it's more professional (even on a Mac).

  • Pigs eat corn also. Wanna check their crap out.

  • My sister goes to Suffolk University which is pretty close to Emerson.

  • I also use Adobe Premiere CS5, mainly because that's what program I was taught how to use at my college. I was told that if I wanted to get a good job in the field as a video editor, I would need to learn to use Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Avid.

Now, I want to try to get involved with the youtube partnership program. I can be my own boss and I can be as creative as I want. All I need is a good idea for a series.

  • that pig had shit on his nose... poor piggy :( reduced to sniffin' shit to get a vibe

  • I use Premier, even when I'm using a mac. My only complaint is that it doesn't snap your last cut to the rest of the sequence, whereas Final Cut does (also I thought that Apple was discontinuing FCP and will no longer support it...). Also, I love keyboard shortcuts. The keyboard shortcut joke was badass.

  • god look at the pig with the crap on its nose wonderfull editing

  • Windows Live Movie Maker

  • @Jon should make a #WATJ about this aswell, would love to hear his proper opinions on it aswell, instead of the usual "because it's the better program."

  • OMFG cutest piggie EVA!! ^_^

  • I use Sony Vegas 9. I originally learned to make videos with iMovie, then once I got out of school, I no longer had a Mac to use, so I started with WMM...which sucks -.- After that the new family Acer had NTI HomeMovie Maker...which was a lot like iMovie, but more user friendly. Then I got Sony Vegas after a friend recommended it.

It's easiest for me to use, and easiest on my wallet...Cause I may not have paid for it...

  • awesome ending

  • PIG

  • IT'S A PIG

  • I'm too lazy to look at the other comments, but what about Premiere Elements? It's kinda like Premiere Pro, but $80 and has most of the features of the $2k program.

Personally, I learned to edit on Premiere Pro in high school but use Sony Vegas because I got a good deal on it a discontinued version few years back.

  • I totally get this because I've used both FCP and APP.

  • And then suddenly....a swine. O.O

  • Doobly Doo Hehe. Wheezy Waiter Term? :D

  • Everyone else saw the pig right??

  • I'm using Vegas 9, but it's more than I need. My recommendation for people who just want a basic editing tool, but want something at least nicer than Movie Maker or iMovie, would be to check out Vegas Movie Studio HD 11. It's only $45, allows you to do up to six tracks for both audio and video, and is more than enough for what most people end up doing. It's the best consumer grade video editing software I've seen, and $45 is really cheap for software.

  • I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11. I spent like 30 bucks on it (the software actually cost 50 but it was on sale or something). It's all I need, really. I don't need anything too fancy.

It's sooo much better than WMM though. God I hate WMM so much...

  • as another recommendation to your favorite editing software, i HIGHLY recommend windows movie maker. it can do ALOT, but not very many people actually know how to use it. i have used final cut, and didn't like it, but i loved movie maker.while movie maker does not feature the complex audio editing, it still features basic audio editing, and for the complicated stuff, go get wavepad for free off of cnet.

  • I just saw my breakfast at the end :p

  • @TheZoranhero No, that was Jory's new roommate.

  • Wheezy waiter reference :D doubly doo

  • 2 quick questions: My trial of Sony Vegas Pro 11 expired today. Do I have to backup all my files, re-install my OS (Windows 7), get all my files back, and then re-download the trial?

Also: Do I have to just torrent the whole program, or can I keygen it? And then wouldn't I have to use it offline only because of online registration? Thanks. I've used it a bunch and love it so far, but I'm only 17 so I can't really afford anything.

  • @MoreThanLuck after the trial is usually the time when you are going to want to actually buy it

  • @piratecheese13 Great, I would love to! Do you have $430 i could use to buy the student version? Because my job only has me make $150 every 2 weeks and I'm saving that for college.

  • @MoreThanLuck stop working 7hrs a week

  • @piratecheese13 Kid, I work 12 hours a week. What are you, 14? Go make more videos with a stuffed dolphin. Piss off if you have nothing useful to say.

  • @MoreThanLuck i make $500 bi weekly minimum wage part time with a solid b in all classes including AP calc and AP english. ohh and I was 14 when i made the dolphin in a cup series three years ago.

  • @MoreThanLuck #1: u could possibly do that. freddiew did that for Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro for a year.

    /watch?v=e4qmHiTchJA&feature=plcp&context=C3446ebbUAOEgsToPDskIN7ws_u8wZixDEc8pJXIk4#t=1m17s

#2: I'm sorry I can't help you on that. Hope someone does though. :)

  • @Guerrillablackdog Thanks. I think I'll just save up for the student edition.

  • I use alot to get different effects, transitions, titles, fonts, and more.

Sony Vegas Pro 11, Camtasia Studio 7, Roxio Game Capture, Movie Maker, ArcSoft Showbiz.

  • i use window move maker cause thats all i know

  • I looked up Emerson College to see how smart Jory really is, I was impressed.

  • @snappledrink he dropped out

  • @snappledrink I could school you if it wasn't for my lack of accreditation...

  • I think I'm the only one to use camtasia 7. Mainly use it to record my desktop and edit videos for YouTube. It also allows me to make gifs. Which I find easy to make.

  • i took 3 years of broadcasting in high school i we used final cut, i loved yet unfortunitly i have a pc at home

  • @MarikasRoom You can find a torrent to get it on your pc.

  • i use Cyberlink PowerDirector... the basic version (the one i use) comes with most if not all newer HP's and Compaq computers, and it's a good mix of stuff like windows movie maker, imovie, final cut, and primere pro. i used presto video works before... very hard to use.. don't try it, unless it's very basic stuff, and it's all the same resolution

  • iMovie :P

  • Adobe and vegas are my favs (really haven't worked with much besides the two). not to mention they are easiest to pirate. with Adobe, you usually don't even have to torrent you can just get the trial from their website and find a keygen at a (possibly safer) direct site like megaupload or mediafire. This'll generate a code to make your trial magically transform into sweet freedom!

  • I have used Adobe, and I do like it, but for just casual/hobby stuff, it is too expensive, I switched to Sony Vegas, the cheapest version is <$50 and it has a feel similar to Adobe Premiere.

  • What do you think of Sony Vegas?

  • Lgally? hahah

  • Jory i just realized ive been asking you vlog forever now.

And i never noticed but u actually have been doing it for a while now. Thanx bro :D

  • Here piggy piggy piggy.

  • AVID is a hit or miss to people.by that i mean some like it some don't! i am still on the fence about it but i don't see anyone using it for youtube videos. just tough to learn for people who don't need to learn it for a job.
