Unlocking Ness in Super Smash Brothers (N64)

This is literally impossible to do, I have been trying to do this for over two weeks now and I can't beat it without dying. I did it once with Mario and then I lost and wash't able to ever to do it again so far does anyone have any tips. Please respond someone.

@gametothemacks It's not that hard, especially with Mario. Start in Normal mode with the number of lives set to 3. With Master Hand, you have to be patient and take your time. Learn how to dodge all of the hand's special moves, and how to put yourself in a position close to the hand right after it completes an attack; then attack with a special move. Also only use special moves when fighting multiple enemies (e.g. Yoshis and polygon team) for faster eliminations.

@gametothemacks Also, if I remember correctly, you can still unlock Ness if you lose lives; you just have to make sure that you start off with three lives and that you don't use a continue. It's been a while since I played this so if I'm wrong about that, someone feel free to correct me.

Am I the only one that thinks the fight with metal mario was awesome with this? Like imagine that in an anime: Your the epic hero thats been battling your way through the tournament to defeat Master Hand. You come across Metal Mario and you hit him with your super laser blast and it does nothing. You wear him down through the entire fight but he resists all your attacks until you finally hit him with one last fully charged laser blast and it blasts him out of the arena. That sounds epic to me!
