I know this because my friend was ina van that flipped and he woke up gasping for air because his seatbelt got wrapped around his neck during the flip. seatbelts were only meant to keep u in place in a regular accident- seatbelts werent intended to keep u in the car if it flipped it just lowers the chances of u flying out. PS: why stunt car drivers wear 4-way belts.

@mario11168 Of course the level of distraction is not on the same level of texting and driving, but even hands free texting/talking is more distracting than someone in the vehicle and it's because the person on the other end is not aware of your current surroundings and can continue to be a distraction at times that someone in the vehicle with you would not be.

@mario11168 Of course the level of distraction is not on the same level of texting and driving, but even hands free texting/talking is more distracting than someone in the vehicle and it's because the person on the other end is not aware of your current surroundings and can continue to be a distraction at times that someone in the vehicle with you would not be.

It's a good thing I don't even have a phone to this point and im 18. If I wanna chat with someone I got a computer at home they can contact me on. I'm not gona go anywhere...I'll get to their emails whenever the hell I feel like it, or whenever I am available. Plus if people are going to use phones while they drive, a useful tip would be: PULL OVER BEFORE YOU ANSWER THAT TEXT MSG OR PHONE CALL AND LET THAT PERSON KNOW YOU'RE DRIVING!

On the one hand, I don't like excessive legislation to protect us from ourselves. But clearly, this is not a victimless activity, that only effects you! I'm a very conscientious and aware pedestrian and bicycle rider, and I have to constantly dodge drivers who are obviously looking down at their devices. Are innocent bystanders a part of your Darwin Awards consideration? These devices that did not exist as such a few decades ago are a needful part of "natural selection"? Your lack of compassion says more about you than it does about them.

They only way people today can learn and be convinced NOT to do something is for them to suffer first the consequences, and see or feel for themselves that pain of loss or regret; but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Get a bluetooth to answer calls, never text while you're driving, just pull over and reply to it if it's really necessary. Or don't if you're in a hurry.
