ya right dude, yan-san is just so freaking sweet at japanese that his japanese is even better than actual japanese people. just because you cant understand it doesnt mean he's mumbly, it just means you cant even begin to understand how godly yan-san is at japanese.
It's a bad sign when the real estate agent brings his own fan to visit your (future) house... but I guess the random people dropping off free food at all house of the day makes up for it.
Something that has been bugging me: What is the CORRECT pronunciation of the word "ga" in sentences like "Neko ga arimasu yo."
Sometimes they pronounce "ga" as it looks ("gu ahhhh"), but the teacher seems to favor naaah, replacing the "g" with a "n" sound. Which one is the correct pronunciation?
Dou desu ka means "How is it?" so "Kore wa dou desu ka" basicaly means "How's this?" in reference to whatever the "kore" is. Basically he was asking him what he though of the apartment layout he was showing him.
"mo" means also, or too. (The video doesn't explain that very well at all.) For example, two males, standing next to each other, stating the obvious that they are men.
"Wa" doesn't have meaning in words. It's added to point out the main subject of sentence. And it sounds better with "wa". It's similar to english when you add "the" or "a" before words. It doesnt do anything but makes the sentence sound better.
Man 80's Japan looks cool, or whenever this was made. Today's Japan is whackk

Could someone explain me what is "ago"?
gokharol 2 years ago
@gokharol ok it means chin
but if u were referring to this video then i'm not quite sure
if u tell me at what point in the video it was used then i'll be glad to help u ^_^
eien21 2 years ago
No, it's not in the video. ^_^
Someday I was in a japanese store, and suddenly came a boy pointing to a book and saying: "ago", to his sister or friend.
I don't really think he was saying "chin" back then. 0_0
Do u know if he could be saying something similar and I just made a mistake?
gokharol 2 years ago
@gokharol sorry for the late response
i was busy w/ christmas shopping ^_^
anyway i think he made of said anou or ano
anou = uhh or excuse me (used to get someone's attention)
ano = that over there (since he was pointing to a book it's probably this one)
i might not be able to respond to future comments because of the upcoming holidays
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Feliz Natal (sorry if it's wrong)
i don't know Portuguese so i used google translator

中文是日文的母亲,日文比中文难多了。
shuke1128 3 years ago
不能如此说.日語近蒙古語糸而蒙古語系由Turk語系發展過來.你只可以說漢字是日漢字的母親.学日語其实对中国人甚難而另方面对非中国語系族群相对易一點,除了認漢當然有優勢.

You will find that both are in common use, and will depend on who is speaking and where. I think the second is more common, but both are understood.
You can see that Yan san moved to Japan in August. You can hear the cicadas (semi) in the background, common at that time of year.
Tigerboy83 3 years ago
hi. im not japanese, but i think it is pronounce as "nga"

In the beginning, is that guy saying: Kore wa dou desu ka?
If so, what does it mean?

Dou desu ka means "How is it?" so "Kore wa dou desu ka" basicaly means "How's this?" in reference to whatever the "kore" is. Basically he was asking him what he though of the apartment layout he was showing him.

I'm confused..can somebody explain to me the difference between "___ wa ____ desu" and "___ mo ____ desu" ?
thedipmeister 4 years ago
"mo" means also, or too. (The video doesn't explain that very well at all.) For example, two males, standing next to each other, stating the obvious that they are men.
Watashi wa otoko no hito desu. (I am a man.)
Watashi mo otoko no hito desu. (I am also a man.)
MisterKwakkles 4 years ago 4
But both hitoko and hito means "man": How come you use both?
shawnzer06crahan 4 years ago
Never mind.
shawnzer06crahan 4 years ago
I think wa means is and mo means too.
shawnzer06crahan 4 years ago
i suggest u to watch ep 2 and u will understand - the difference is detailed there, but MisterKwakkles is right, and his examples are good

"Wa" doesn't have meaning in words. It's added to point out the main subject of sentence. And it sounds better with "wa". It's similar to english when you add "the" or "a" before words. It doesnt do anything but makes the sentence sound better.
