there is nothing in the wolrd like giving a porrotlet a head scratch. i love it when mine snuggles up real close to my hand when i am done begging for more! :) <3
I have my parrotlet a year now and she is still tame and loving and loves neck rubs. I work from home and she is with me and out of the cage all day. As soon as I open the fridge she flies to my shoulder and starts looking for food. She does bite and hard, but only when she is protecting herself. Otherwise she gives kisses and nibbles my ear while letting out an affectionate growl. Parrotlets are the best!!! - Oh, I am allergic to mine and giving her away. Breaks my heart :'(
@rtrain67 I'm SO sorry. I have bad allergies to my ferrets. And it's just awful. I cry about it. If you are allergic to a parrotlet, gosh, hate to tell you but I can pretty much assume that you'd be allergic to any bird. They are very clean and don't "dust". They have very little dander compared to other birds. I have a very mild allergy to birds when I'm around too many. And I can just tell, that I have absolutely none to parrotlets. Of course all your toos are the worst.
@YvettewithaVonne I am SO bummed!!! I got the song off of youtube. They have free tracks you can add to your films. Almost all the songs are unknowns ya know? Anyway, I went to check for you and I cant' find it in my account anywhere! I don't get it. Usually your account tells you what kind of file the movie is that you uploaded, what music is on it, etc. I cant 'find any of that. Maybe because it's older, its' before YouTube started getting so detailed for their people. I don't know.
Parrotlets are the most precious parrot to me. Their the smallest of all parrots in the world and live to be 25 years old. Your parrotlet is gorgeous! Check out our videos :)
Hubby wants to name him Pip for Pip Skweekers or Pippin. I really to look at other names. Coby for Cobalt (cause of his back and wings), B-B for Button, JoJo, ... I'm leaning away from Paco and Sammy. Most parrolets get saucy little names like "Chipper" or something. Suggestions would be appreciated.
He was weaned just last week. Gosh, i never asked the breeder! I should call and ask, huh? He's so bitty, the camera wont focus! I cant' even get a crisp image of him with my expensive slr cause he moves so much and hes to weensy. It was hubbys dream to have this bird ::rolling my eyes:: i'm a big bird person ... more to hold and all that. Silly man!

@Smaejdah Out of all my birds, this ones cuddliness didn't stop with age despite the fact that I dont' give him enough time (He gets enough of of cage time and plays with the others, I mean me-time). I dont think he's anything out of the ordinary at all for the most part. But I don't have experience with others to know if that's usual or not. I always heard they can be nippy. Not seeing it at all though.
What did you end up naming your little sweetie? I just found out about these birds 2 days ago and am seriously thinking of getting one as soon as it is old enough to leave the breeder, thus I am looking for a good name. I think it will be a boy.
I want one but my parents won't let me get one :(
