  • People, flood Washington and our states top level authorities with new bloods from our ordinary people to reflect the will of people of this country. Both of these parties no longer represent us true-fully and are betraying us for the selfish interest of money and partisan politics. Flood them so we can have hope for our children. They don't need to be brainwashed by their religious of partisan leadership. Use our new bloods to flood them out of our system in this November's election.

  • great speech.

  • This Jack Ass has "W" Syndrome! His hatred for Bush runs so deep in his psyche that he accepts everything as better no matter how damaging. This Blind Sheep follower of the Great Shepard Obambaahhh is nothing more than a money hungry, money grubbing puppet of the Obambaaahhh ZERO Transparency IRON curtain government! 25 billion to GM with out a trace! 60 days later GM is in the Wallet of the Democrats. What a Magic trick! Fat happy lazy Amercan's sit back and accept it as normal practice.

  • Google: Norman Hsu folks - - "....starting in 2003, Hsu raised more than $1.6 million for Clinton and other Democrats. Around the same time, he started the Ponzi scheme and used those clients' names to circumvent campaign laws, according to prosecutors."

  • ...the 'good ole days' - - - - - - - - before the clinton treason- - - - google the following three titles, imperative folks: "The Clinton Cow in the China Shop - Part 1" ////// "The Clinton Cow in the China Shop Part 2" ////// "Jury hears Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's call to swindler Norman Hsu"

  • Re: Afghan captured US Pfc. Bergdahl ~Should we practice what you preach? I hope and pray that Mr. Bergdahl will not be tortured and will return home safely. I knew in my heart that is wouldn't take long for the United States to realize just what the consequences of the decisions of the last FAILED administration would be. If you have ANY doubt about why torture and illegally detaining people would mean, this is a very good example. What are we to do now? Anyone?

  • clinton didnt do any treason with this country. but the bush and his republican adminstration on the other hands . YES !!! i see icicic that you are blinded by your ownself righteousness about your Republican party. i also see that you are about just serving your party then your country. it shouldn't matter if its a democrat or a republican. wrong is wrong. and the statement that you have made have showed everyone how clueless the party really is. always throwing the blame on others. LOL

  • NO WAY!

Truth and Reconciliation Commission allow crimes to go unpunished, and creating impunity.

In plain English it means NO PROSECUTION.

    h t t p : / / en . wikipedia . org /wiki/Truth_and_reconciliation _commission

  • Is this true, I thought that if crimes were commited in the leadup to the war in Iraq and involving torture, there would be prosecutions.

The only way for us to heal as a nation is too put this behind us and the only way we can do this is through investigation and if neccesary prosecution.

  • AVoiceCrying33:

    This is true!

Crimes will go UNPUNISHED with a Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearing.

We must PROSECUTE and NOT permit a Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearing.

    Read it!

    h t t p : / / en . wikipedia . org /wiki/Truth_and_reconciliation _commission

  • NO !!! you are very wrong AVOICECRYING33.because someone really needs to pay for this.if we want our nation to heal all the wounds from the past what was wrong.i see you was more crittical with you statement on the clintons but what the bush and his republicans adminstration have done is far greater then what any United States president or anyone in office have ever done.and should face justic.there was to much curruption in the republican party during this adminstration. and it needs to stop

  • I did say that if there is proven wrongdoing there should be prosecutions. I am not a fan of the Bush Administration, as A Christian I believe that his administartion stood for a lot of things that are against what Jesus told us to do

Conservatives can't see the terrible sins that the Bush Administration did and liberals can't see that Clinton's adminsitreation was corrupt as well. The only saving grace of Clinton's is he didn't rush us into war and betray our principals doing it

  • i agree with you on certain parts of what you are saying. but the part that the clinton have betrayed our principals ??? i don't know about that. the clintons may have had there scandles but nothing they have done that have over powered what have happened during these last years. i think that the bush adminstration have betrayed not this country's principals but the other countries as well. now most countries look at the usa's principals are down the drain thanks to the bush adminstration. LOL

  • i have missed read you sorry and i agree. with most of what you are saying now.

  • Cool, Somtimes I think I am on the right path when both the far left and the far right have problems with me. The thing that really stuck in my craw was that Bush was claiming to be a great Christian president, so not only did he do damage to America in the outside world, he and his fundamentalist brehren also did great damage to Christianity. Check out my video on Blackwater and The Iraq war it is very frightening

  • hey thank you very much AVOICECRYING33 i will check out your video. and you are so right about christainaity being messed but by the far rightwing and the bush admidstration. i have spoken to alot of people on that very same issue and they have said the very same thing that you have said. hey my friend i will check back with you later i am going to watch that video and add it to my videos. bye for now.

  • War Criminal Pentagon

The Iraq war was only about the Economic Colonization of that soverign nation.

The Allies conducted the Nuremberg Trials in 1945 to 1949 ..supposedly for several reasons:

-To Make Aware that these crimes were Actually Committed

-To Examine HOW these Crimes Were Able to be Committed

-To Uncover Who Committed these crimes

-- -To PREVENT It FROM HAPPENING AGAIN

    -To Punish The Criminals

    +++++++++++++++++++++

  • 4aaaaa4 you are 100% right. i see that most of the people that have posted there statements are just only for there party which happens to be the republican party. they would perfer to live a lie and just hide everything. reather then fixing the problem so that it wouldn't never happen again. thats crazy ! its like putting sugar or chocolate over shit and trying to pass it off as a CHOCOLATE PAYDAY.one thing about the truth u can't sugarcoat or chocolate coat shit.shit is shit.

  • AHH politics here is an easy way of breaking it down current events style.. BUSH=oBama wake up and restore the republic... Your freedom depends on it.

  • Hillary Clinton should be tried as a criminal for all those meetings she had with the Chinese agents, Johnny Chung, Charlie Trie and John Huang ie. Chinagate. Google: "Through a Glass Darkly: How Decades of Clinton Double-Dealing Compromised our National Security"

  • I agree with you, the Clintons compromised national security with the Chinese campaign contributation scandal, Pres. Clinton should of been impeached for that, and he would of been convicted.

But you do agree that Bush/Cheney should be investigated as well, if the allegations are true then their lies caused alot of damage and death, more than Bill Clinton

  • icicioic how are the deals with the arabs and the deals that bush have done with his family ??? and how it almost damaged our country's national security ???

  • Truth Commission, Leahy, you wouldn't know the truth if it slapped you in the face.

  • Something I suspect many Republicans would do (attack Senator Leahy, not a Truth Commission).

  • If anyone on this site cares at all that the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS TORTURING CAPTIVES: Please read - "Truth, Torture, and the American Way", by Jennifer Harbury. Why did she write this book? Her husband was tortured for 3 years and then murdered. During that 3 years of torture he NEVER SAID A WORD. Not only is torture illegal, there are 3 layers of laws that ABSOLUTLY PROHIBIT TORTURE, leaving NO excuse whatsoever and under ANY circumstance that makes torture legal. Please get involved.

  • Hillary needs to be investigated for all those meetings she had with Johnny Chung, Charlie Trie, John Huang and the Riadys ie. chinagate! Review Alamo-girl (dot)com / click 'High Treason' / click 'Timeline' - - Also, google Senator James Inhofe's June 23, 1999 Senate Floor chinagate speech (by title) "Clinton National Security Scandal and Coverup" -the MSM has never mentioned one word on this. (because all 115 witnessess fled the country, there was never a treason trial for both Clintons)

  • I just heard John McCain on Face the Nation claim that any foreign enemy will not torture our GIs because the KNOW tha tthey will be severely punished for that.

Were HIS torturers ever punished when BUSH opened trade with Vietnam? Can ANY enemy take that claim seriously unless WE punished those that promoted torture in America? How can American claim righteousness without punishing those criminals. How can WE punish enemies who torture until we also punish our own torturers and their leaders?

  • I am concerned about representations of truth and reconciliation when posts that are in opposition of what Senator Leahy is stating are removed from this site.

It diminishes all credibility in Senator Leahy's statements.

  • I think since the first term of President Clinton Osama was preparing the attack of 9/11 and Iran building the nuclear weapons?were was his adminstration..

  • Clinton tried to kill bin Laden twice but was told that by doing so too many civilians would die. When bush w. came in to office, Clinton told him his greatest concern should be bin Laden. bush shined it. Then bush starts an illegal and immoral war, kills 4,500 of our troops and over 88,000 innocent Iraqi civilians. He was a failure of catistrophic proportions. Thats the TRUTH!

  • what kind of torture he is saying they want to show the world how weak this adminstration is shame on you

  • If you want to punish bush and cheney then you have to go after Pelosi and Reid and all your liberal democrat friends who also knew about waterboarding and now claim they did not. Why do you just mention republicans. You have lost all credibility with just your one post. Kill terrorist not innocent babies. Should we go back and try Truman for dropping the bomb on Japan. Was that worse than sleep deprivation. If so why wont you call for hearing. Dishonesty thats why.

  • Don't try to justify what bush did by comparing it to anything else. That is a ridiculous argument and is not constructive in letting EVERYONE know that AMERICA DOES NOT TORTURE. bush did more damage to our nation than any President in US history. Trust that. It will take decades to recover from his catistrophic mistakes. If you are not looking for the truth, you are living in a lie!

  • No your logic is faulty, you defend abortion, while criticizing what you call torture. We are at war with these people who you say we torture. We are not at war with innocent children. Sounds to me like you are politicizing this. Let me define torture also. You redefine life to justify abortion. Is imprisoning someone and denying them rights torture, confining them to a 8x10 cell, is that torture. Listening to idiots like you is torture. Be consistent, quit changing the meaning of words.

  • abortion isn't the problems that is effecting this country. its the racial problems and other things like putting the party first before country is dividing up this country.that is the very least of the problems. its just a ideoloical rally of someone person beliefs.that the conservatives have been trying to put down everyone in this country's throat. with there personal beliefs. and one thing that the republicans haven't learned . not everyone share there beliefs. that dont make that person bad

  • We are Americans we do not torture, we are too good for that. But give us a baby in the womb and we kill thousands a day. Torture is wrong, but extracting a life from the womb is just a medical procedure. Do not be cruel to animals, but go ahead and crush the head of an infant and to justify your murder, change the meaning of life. Make an animal more of a life than a human baby. We are in trouble.

  • Are you saying that abortion excuses torture? Your logic is faulty. If you are outraged by abortion, then you should be outraged by torture. If you want to prosecute abortion doctors then you MUST call your Congressman and DEMAND that BUSH & Cheney are arrested, tried and imprisoned. MUST! Otherwise you lose all credibility.

  • Patrick Leahy is a moron. Signing his petition is proof of dysfunction.

  • Now I get it , it's about the magical middle , the 3rd option , bcs prosecuting all of the bush regime , we'll damn that might take " 15 years " and the" truth " will scare the scare the hell out of future criminals . lol

So let me get this straight , his reforms or finding the truth , will be a greater deterrent than investigations , prosecutions and PRISON

Leahy's oath to the constitution is meaningless and he's violating it by NOT going after known criminals and crimes and here we go again

  • That is what happens when you pardon arch-criminals. Nixon should have gone to prison.

  • bush need to get trail and than thrown in jail for life.

  • It's sad that people who have clearly and without doubt committed numerous crimes in clear public view are not on trial or in front of firing squads, instead we have just the shadow of a hope that their crimes will be recorded.

  • I haven't signed the petition supporting this. My concern is that everybody will be immunized and nobody will face a real prosecution.

    Message to future administrations:

You really shouldn't do stuff like this, and if you do, we'll tell you that you shouldn't have before letting you get on with you regular lives.

  • Let the TRUTH be set free.

  • Yes, perhaps they need a reminder that if the Democratic Party can't clean up the criminals this time, we'll be looking for a new party to take their place.

  • I've lost nearly half of my retirement and this is what you guys are doing?!

How many people will you destroy? Pure EVIL.

  • "Middle Ground" - no ax to grind.... gimme a break. He will make sure that nothing happens to the Bush Admin - he will manage the "reconciliation".

  • In a sense lots of immunity for testimony stuff. No one talks, they get off free and come back later to do it for a third time. Keep in mind, they never cleaned up after Watergate.

  • How can we trust anyone speaking at Georgetown. A Jesuit University. The home base in the US for the New (Old) World Order. This is just more Hegelian Dialectic. This guy will just make sure that NOTHING happens to Bush and Cheney.

  • Go check out the Rick Santelli 2012 t-shirts you can buy at WallStreetMarketNews(DOT)com!

They also have a Where's MY Bailout t-shirt and TOO BIG TO FAIL t-shirts!

I just bought one of each to wear at the next Tea Party! -0-00

  • Drunken mick-Irish blockhead.

  • Bush is an admitted alcoholic and a drug user who went AWOL at a time of war to avoid a military physical because he was using Cocaine.

Senator Leahy is not a drinker. He's an honorable and sober man. His reputation is without blemish.

  • All Irish are drunks, just look at the murderer Ted Kennedy. And it was Obama who admitted cocaine abuse and acoholism in his Mein Kamph.

    Goodnight, John-Boy.

  • Bullshit pat. Trying something or rare occasion use of a substance as a teenager, is a FAR cry from the REAL long term alcohol and drug abuse the George W. Bush engaged in as an ADULT, as we all know the near-do-well playboy did (at least up to age 40).

  • test

  • They don't care about us. Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them... Romans 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

  • Wow, demanding truth and still being deceptive. This didn't start with Bush. Nor has it ended. They are setting up Americans to war against other Americans. Consider the sources of resistance and those who "call" for change.

  • I am so proud to be a Vermonter right now.

  • It's only state in the country where you can fuck kids and smoke dope and the police and courts do nothing about it.

Go suck on maple tree, you lefist motherfucker.

  • why??? what the heck is in Vermont?

  • Bush lied to us and thank you for telling the truth!

    Rock On! Paul Brown

  • I hope you try. Civil war comming.

  • I think alot about Thomas Jefferson. How would he react to the torture, wiretapping, and abuse of power in the Bush-Cheney administration? He would be so sad, that his dream became so tarnished. This is not a Republican-Democrat issue. It is an issue of the US Constitution.

  • You guys seem to have some very high ideals about conduct until a Democrat is involved and suddenly your zeal for justice becomes rather conspicuously muted.

  • With the number of people that have died, and the damage that's been done, we deserve answers! And please prosecute if infractions are found (if? I can't believe that I said "if")!

  • If Lyndon Johnson had "done the right thing" and leveled with the American people when he discovered that Nixon had committed treason, one could only imagine the lives that would have been spared in the Vietnam War. Now here we are again with history, in many ways, repeating it's self. PLEASE investigate Bush and his administration. I am only 1 person that feels this way, can you imagine how many more there are?

  • You are bitter.BITTER!Your going to really be bitter when you figure out the things that Obama is doing to us as we sleep.Less than 70 days in office and he has started his middle east connections, relocating Hamas refugees to the U.S., withdrew charges of the masterminds of the USS Cole incident, ordered CIA interrogation centers closed overseas, ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and halted the trials of the muslim terrorist. Why all that in the 1st 60 days full of other problems much more pressing?

  • Where is all of the money that has been lost in Iraq? Where are the guns that disappeared? What is the REAL reason for the war in Iraq (as if we don't have a few ideas). Scooter Libby, U.S. Attorney firings, Alberto Gonzalez (electrodes to the nipples will often times "jogs" someone's memory) and so much more! Please investigate our past 8 years! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE DO WHAT WE ELECTED YOU TO DO!

  • PLEASE assure us that there are officials within our government that will act in "our" (the little guy) best interest and not what you "think" is our best interest. We are not children, though the media talks to us as if we are. An investigation must be initiated! Many of us elected you in the hopes that you would stand up to Bush, but were disappointed. Don't disappoint us again!

  • We want the truth and WE WANT JUSTICE! Bush and his administration have been accused of everything from destruction of the constitution, to treason. The war, the lost money, the lies, the unwillingness to cooperate with congress, we WANT THE TRUTH! we/those of us who pay taxes, were lied to about a war that has cost us greatly and in every way. I, as a US citizen, want an investigation into President Bush as well as his administration. I want Karl Rove in front of congress!

  • Does anybody know what thegas4free.blogspot,com is that Obama has been talking about?

  • No one is above the law. I believe we should support Mr. Leahy's idea. D. Kuenzli

  • just a friggin' "get outta jail" free card for the war criminals, wrapped in a fancy empty speech about truth and justice...nothing more, nothing less!

like the bankers who stole billions of taxpayers' money, yeah, ya know...you can keep what you stole, but just don't do it again.

    yeah, okay!

  • Both Bushs are the worse prisdent we have ever had!

  • Leahy released a 1980's memu about people trying to overthrow Kaddafi. He caused Kaddafi to stay in power ans kill hundreds of Americans over scotland! For that , Leahy is a dirty piece of shit that should be eliminated! Leahy is a traitor!

  • thank you

  • Operation Ignore is wrong and therefore Bush & Cheney neet to be held accountable for their evil deeds.

  • Please, google 'special prosecutor for bush crimes petition' and sign onto Bob Fertik's petition re. same. It should be at the top of the search.

A Special Prosecutor would free up our Reps to focus on our financial mess...

  • Should the crimes of treason, by the Bush/Cheney Administration be overlooked, then these crimes of high treason will be repeated in future administrations

    ___

In 1945-49, The Allies conducted the Nürenberg Trials for several reasons

    A) To make aware that these crimes were actually committed

    B) To examine HOW these crimes were able to be committed

    C) Who committed these crimes and

    D) To punish the criminals

    .

Today's War Criminal is a group who runs afairs from behind the stage

  • Bush was a puppet... Obama is a puppet... Go for the elite!!!

  • ARREST the group which is running affairs and the affairs they are running from BEHIND the stage .

The Allies conducted the Nürenberg Trials (1945 to 1949) for several reasons

-To make aware that these crimes were actually committed

-To examine HOW these crimes were

    able to be committed

    -Who committed these crimes and

    -To punish the criminals

    SEIZE THEM !!!

........OR THE CRIME WILL NEVER STOP ON ITS OWN

  • Wow...this person and others have "Bush Derrangement Syndrome" for sure. Pure hate coming from these people. You guys must be watching too much MSNBC. I guess in their eyes its a crime to protect this country from evil people who want to kill as many Americans as they can. You ought to learn to think for yourselves instead of being puppets of the likes of MSNBC or any of the Liberal Haters that pretend to be news organizations.

  • "I guess in their eyes its a crime to protect this country from evil people who want to kill as many Americans as they can."

Yeah how'd that work out? Oh, I guess it didn't. We lost about 3,000 in one day on Bush's watch.

Or do you mean that everything he did AFTER his enormous failure is justified, because "THERE'S A THREAT OUT THERE!"?

Grow a pair. Freedom isn't a risk-free operation. Those who are willing to give all power to a president out of fear are not patriots; they are cowards.

  • This is crazy..the world is a much different place than anytime in history...we have never had a group of fanatical people who were willing to kill themselves and innocent people through the use of jumbo airliners and bombs strapped to their bodies just to kill as many people as possible. And you people want to play patty-cake with these fools.unbelieveable! What was this country suppose to do ,do nothing? You guys just don't get it. And by the way Congress had the same info that the Pres. had.

  • "we have never had a group of fanatical people who were willing to kill themselves and innocent people through the use of jumbo airliners and bombs strapped to their bodies just to kill as many people as possible."

No, we just had a military superpower with ten thousand nuclear warheads pointed at us.

"And you people want to play patty-cake with these fools.unbelieveable!"

It certainly is unbelievable, because nobody said that. Except you. What you are doing is known as a strawman argument.

  • "What was this country suppose to do ,do nothing?"

Nobody said that either. Except you. What you are doing is known as a strawman argument.

As to what this country was suppose to do: go after bin Ladin and al Qaida, without diverting everything to a country that didn't attack us. When Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, FDR didn't invade Spain.

"You guys just don't get it."

I think I get it just fine: Dubya lost 3,000 his first year in office, and lost over 4,000 more during the next seven years.

  • "And by the way Congress had the same info that the Pres. had."

No. This idiotic claim has been disproven multiple times. Congress never has the same intel that a president does, at the same time he has it. Not with Obama, not with G.W. Bush, not with Clinton, not with Bush the Elder, not with Reagan, not with Carter, not with Ford, not with Nixon, not with Johnson, not with Kennedy.

Not sure about before JFK, but my guess would be: not then, either.

  • SailorBarsoom:

Idiotic is right. You're waging a war of wits with an unarmed opponent & slaughtering him. He keeps coming back, incapable of embarrassment.

That's the problem with democracy. When the majority are too stupid, lazy & ignorant to act in their best interest, the rest of us suffer the tyranny of the majority. You're watching the failure of democracy.

Chomsky was right. The vast majority consent to anything when the powerful few control information: Manufacturing Consent.

  • In truth, I was starting to feel like the big kid taking the little kid's lunch money. It just got to be too easy, and I was starting to feel like a meany for clobbering him so often.

  • Well fortunately the military superpowers were smart enough Not to use the ten thousand nuclear warheads..but these people don't hold back and people like you just seem to want to ignore them thinking (I guess) that they will all go away. America has never been an "appeaser nation" as so many of you people want. Sometimes war is needed although hated by us all. Americans should never just roll over and die.

  • smsalapek: Thanks for reading my post & correcting 1 of your many errors.

You ignorant loudmouth. You don't have a clue. You don't know anything about Valerie Plame, Scooter Libby, Joe Wilson, etc.

Don't you realize that people who know what they're talking about know how ignorant you are?

You can't hide your glaring ignorance!

  • yeah watch this: they'll pin bush for the whole thing.

  • Bush is evil, but he's also a first class moron. He shall get his just deserts for his crimes against this nation but he is far from the most prominent player in the treasonous high crimes committed within and by his administration. Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and that whole cabal are the true masterminds.

Hopefully this commission will result in the rightful justice that needs to be meted out.

  • I look forward to the outcome of this investigation ...

  • Leahy's remarks about the Church Commission tell of FBI breaches in the days of the Viet Nam War. The Church Commission was supposed to keep that kind of activity from happening again...

I am skeptical that merely finding out the truth stops it from ever happening again. There was no consequence for finding out the truth. Truth without Justice is a book on the back shelf of the library.

  • INVESTIGATE ?!!

Why were there 3000 degree temps in the Ground Zero rubble pile for 3 months after 911? When Barry Jennings said there was an explosion removing the stairway inside WTC7 on the morning of 911, why was that not investigated. The 911 cover up could not have succeeded without the cooperation of the 7 companies that control all our media. FCC licenses must be revoked. Whitman and Bush et al should be hung with the entrails of their victims.

  • IT takes Pre-Emption to catch "Pre-Emptive War" War Criminals!

HE who lives by the sword of Pre-Emption can only be destroyed by the sword of Pre-Emption.

Advertising this as much as they used advertising in order to boost propaganda for their war crime. Now THEY ARE MORE powerful through the looting of the innocent civilizations! ...and the American taxpayer becomes WEAKER ..Footing the Bill for it all with their blood sweat and tears of us all! What a perfect plan!

  • "..we need to see if the american people are ready to take this path.."

    NO!

We need to MAKE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE READY TO TAKE THIS PATH.

BY making them aware of the path they are STILL on ! The Group running affiars from behind the stage is still conspiring to use massacre and war crime for economical and political colonoizations of civilizations.

War Criminals throught history NEVER STOP ON THEIR OWN Even those who are outed and in plain sight! What makes you think this group will !

  • "Partinship" is smokescreen. Just the actors on the stage.

There is no partisanship Behind the stage, there is a group running affairs. The same group as ever.

The same group of war criminals who ran affairs the "past 8 years" are still running affairs! People please wake up and stop them because they use war crime to get theri power. they will continue to use war crime to keep it!

The "war criminal" grip on Iraq is a weak one. Beware more False-Flag attacks, and Pre-emptive attacks!

  • After Watching Leahy tonight on O'Reilly, I feel that Senator Leahy is a low life, disgusting piece of garbage. He is a lying scumbag with no ethics or morals. He should not be in any political office. He runs away instead of answering easy questions. Thank the lord he's not my senator! I wouldn't be this kind to this moron!

  • Leahy is a true American. Not the sniveling filthy criminal dirt otherwise known as today's Republican party, which spits in the face of the founding fathers' notion and vision for this country and the brave men who fought and died to emancipate this nation. The Republican party today is nothing more than a bunch of fearful worms who would sooner give up our freedoms and liberties than show a little bravery in the face of challenges and danger. They are utterly disgusting.

  • Well in my opinion it is a "sex act" it's not like you are holding hands with someone or giving them a kiss for peats sake. It is somewhat more involved. Anyway the point being it's not so much the sex act as it was President Clinton "Lying under oath". He was the President of the United States and one of his jobs was to "Up Hold The Law". Funny I just saw a commerical about a show and the girl asked the guy if he wanted her to have sex with another guy,he said no just do the Clinton thing.

  • Think about it. You're married, you're VERY MUCH in the public eye, and you're being grilled over a sex act another woman performed on you. What are you going to do, when the prosecution leaves the door open with THEIR agreed upon definition for your attorneys to find a way for you to say "NO I didn't do that". The prosecution could have asked follow up questions. Why didn't they? They thought/salivated that they caught Bill in perjury and didn't want to fuck that up by asking more questions.

  • Senator Leahy appearantly has nothing better to do in the Senate than to have a "Witch Hunt"! What a crock...especially when he told everyone to "Leave former President Clinton alone"! Yes because Clinton is a fellow Democrat! And yes he did the same thing with Marc Rich who's case is still not closed! What a hack! He is the biggest hypocrit! He must be listening too much to the MSNBC Anchors too much! What a looser! He's not seeking the truth....he's seeking payback!

  • George W Bush and his administration are responsible for INCREDIBLE treasonous traitorous high crimes, the likes of which this nation has never known! Bill Clinton's quite understandable lying about a (legal) adulterous sexual encounter with an assertive young intern absolutely PALES in comparison to the monumental horrendous absolutely devastating crimes committed by the Bush Administration and his Republican enablers. Except to you conservatives who are OBSESSED with other people's sex lives.

  • Oh so it's okay to have sex at a person's place of work? Humm is that permitted at your work place? And not to mention It was in the White House...I thought that was suppoes to be a place of high regard...I guess that's the way American People want to be portrayed to around the world. And I guess it's okay to LIE to everyone and under oath. Oh yeah and Adultery is okay too. And what High Crimes and treason did George Bush do? I'd like to know your answers.

  • The White House is the president's personal residence and home office, he is free to engage in whatever legal activities he chooses there (he IS the top boss there), nothing says otherwise. Adultery is not illegal, and only as wrong as the aggrieved (Hillary/Chelsey) perceives it. The world looked at the investigation into Bill's sexual activities with confusion and laughter at the Republicans and American people, NOT at Bill Clinton, who they considered an excellent U.S. leader.

  • Again it depends on ones moral values and I disagree with yours. And the people around the world are laughing because Clinton was a disgrace to the highest office in the land. He was proven to be a liar (at least on this occassion)

  • You conservatives DO obsess over sex a lot, that's for sure. Liberals have far more noble and nation/world affirming, advancing, and bettering morals. World opinion of Bill Clinton was high during his presidency, remained high, and continues to be high. World opinion of the U.S. during Clinton's presidency was HIGH. It has plummeted under Oval office BJ-less Bush. World polls showed incredulity, amusement, and derision over the Republican attacks on Clinton (not on Clinton's sexual peccadilloes)

  • what makes you so sure that I am a conservative? You don't know what I think about each issue and arguing with you about Clinton and Bush is a waste of my time now. As far as Leahy starting this BS about a Truth Commission its all bunk and I would think that there are more pressing issues to deal with instead of trying to embarrass the Bush Administration.

  • Well look at Bill Clinton? Remember how he obssesed with sex a lot. And nearly got impeached, over Monica?!

  • Clinton was impeached. He was not convicted on the charges he was impeached over; the house of representatives brought the impeachment charges, and the U.S. Senate ruled that Clinton was NOT GUILTY of the charges. The Republicans did their damnedest to take out their arch-nemesis (Bill and the American people), spent MILLIONS of tax payer dollars on their far-right-wing witch hunt, and yet STILL failed to convict Clinton, even with right-wing Republican Trent Lott as Senate MAJORITY leader.

  • There were many occasions when I thought he was high myself . And that's cool too . The trick with that is to never be high AND stupid at the same time , and Bill Clinton is far from stupid . Piece of cake !

  • Clinton was impeached on perjury charges. He lied under oath in a deposition about his sexual relationship with White House intern.

It was wrong & illegal to lie. The ethical sex issue was never raised in the impeachment hearings, only perjury.

Clinton was sued for sexual harrassment for an incident when he was AK governor by Paula Corbin Jones. She eventually received a settlement.

Clinton did not commit high crimes or treason.

Bush & Cheney are guilty & deserve prison or execution.

  • I agree.

However, as a point of contention, Clinton was exonerated on the charges against him.

I do believe Bush, Cheney, and Co. ARE absolutely guilty of extremely high crimes and treason and should most certainly be tried for their crimes (and hopefully convicted to receive the extremely severe punishments that are due them for their incredibly harmful actions toward the United States of America).

  • Not everyone considers a BJ sex; regardless it PALES in comparison to the vast & enormous lies told by Bush and his administration (particularly on the cherry-picked information and justification for invading Iraq). Bush failed to prevent 9/11 (with neglect possibly willfully), he ignored and broke countless laws, illegally wiretapped Americans, illegally violated our treaties: war crimes, politicized the DOJ, leaked classified CIA info, destroyed evidence, weakened the U.S & our reputation, etc

  • Well I guess it all depends upon ones moral values....it seems that some are willing to accept the lesser of moral values. Number two, The White House is THE PEOPLES HOUSE! Mr Clinton,Bush and Obama are there on borrowed time. Frankly excusing that behavior is trouble some...and did you forget that he Lied under oath. What's the job of the President...TO UP HOLD THE LAW. And if a BJ as you say isn't a part of sex, I don't know what is...LOL

  • You don't know what sex is outside of a BJ? Hmmm. Okay I don't have time to explain the birds and the bees to you here. Moral values? Some people think sex outside of marriage is the most heinous thing in the world, others think needlessly killing hundreds of thousands and severely damaging our nation while undermining our constitution is worse. The White House is also the President's private residence for his stay, the landlord 'people' have laid down no extra special rules about sex there.

  • So you don't think a "BJ" as you put is a sexual act??? Makes me wonder what age group you are in...must be in the age group that believe every thing is acceptable..."If it feels good, I will do it".... well that's your right. But don't expect everyone else to share your opinions.

  • You didn't say is a BJ a sexual act, you said it was sex, and yes today (I don't know about your generation), people do not consider fellatio the same as intercourse. If someone says I had sex with someone they generally are not referring to receiving a BJ. But our definition is irrelevant. A legalistic definition was agreed upon in the case, and Bill's answers met it and, while evasive, did not constitute perjury. The prosecution failed (even when asked) to ask follow up questions.

  • If I forced this person to perform it on me , I bet it would THEN be considered a sex act . The line appears to be what they WANT . And wether or not they get what they want .

  • The Clinton impeachment wasn't about having sex in the workplace. You're a moron, but too stupid to be aware of it. You actually don't know the accusations against Bush & Cheney? 1. Lying to Congress about intel on Iraq 2. Violating Constitutional Law/Habeas Corpus 3. Human rights abuses/Torture 4. Violating Constitutional Privacy Rights/ Warrantless Wiretaps 5. Obstruction of Justice/ Perjury 6. Corruption/ Fraud 7. Ethics/ Abuse of Power Violations Again, you're a moron.
  • So nice to have a conversation with a "Loony Leftist Liberal" all they can do is call people names and debate those who disagree with them in an irrational, immature manner. And indeed it was about having "Sex" in the White House where Clinton did work, but more than that "He Lied "under oath which was his crime. He was the President of the United States and one of his main functions is to up hold the law of the land! So President Bush is a criminal because he was keeping us safe...Huh?

  • I've answered your challenge question about the accusations against Bush/Cheney. That's more than name calling. You "pretended" not to see them, were too stupid to respond or both.

    Straw Man arguement is right.

Bush/Cheney are accused of the crimes listed on my previous post.

Providing clear information is what I can do in addition to explaining to you that you're monumentally stupid.

Thanks making me feel like a genius in comparison to you. You're very good for a laugh & my ego.

  • What a "Classy Woman you are" and trust me I use the term loosely. I guess the only way you can state your arguments is to call me stupid and ignorant. I am glad that, that makes you feel good. You must be "One Angry Woman", better get some help for that.

  • The term that evades you, as so many do, is sarcasm. ( That's condescension.)

    Calling me classy was sarcastic.

As I wrote, you are an amusement to me & I'm sure many, many others.

I'm amused, laughing at you, not angry at you. If anything, I pity you.

You're not smart enough to be capable of evoking anger in me.

I know "special" people who serenely accept their limitations. You don't. It's funny, like a couch potato trying to make the US Olympic team. Accept your limitations.

    Next.

  • Smsalpek, George W. Bush (43rd president) is almost certainly a treasonous traitor to the United States of America. The evidence is overwhelming, and his EXTREMELY serious crimes against America are far far far FAR more serious than anything you can say about Bill Clinton. George W. Bush NEEDS to be tried AND convicted, and he absolutely for his very serious and HARMFUL crimes to America, needs to be sentenced to death (but I wouldn't object to President Obama commuting it to life in prison.)

  • You are entitled to your opinion crazy as it maybe...but Mr. Clinton wasn't as unscathed as you say he was. He did a lot of unscrupulous things while he was in office. And Barack Obama well I believe there is a lot yet to be uncovered about him. Time will tell. You just can't take this man at his word as it is always opposite of what he says. So keep bashing President Bush if it makes you feel good because I don't believe there is anything to be found. You just love to bash people on the "Right"

  • John McCain (R-AZ) seemed to think that swearing to tell the truth is a pretty darned important thing to abide by:

"All of my life, I have been instructed never to swear an oath to my country in vain. In my former profession, those who violated their sworn oath were punished severely and considered outcasts from our society. I do not hold the President to the same standard that I hold military officers to. I hold him to a higher standard."

  • Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) gives a moving statement about how we should hope that history looks back kindly at how we observed the rule of law: I was reminded as well, however, that the laws of our Country are applicable to us all, including the President, and they must be obeyed. The concept of equal justice under law and the importance of absolute truth in legal proceedings is the foundation of our justice system in the courts."

  • Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) again on the issue of Clinton's impeachment: "A hundred years from now, when history looks back to this moment, we can hope for a conclusion that our Constitution has been applied fairly and survives, that we have come to principled judgments about matters of national importance, and that the rule of law in American has been sustained."

  • And George Voinovich (R-OH) made a good case for impeachment no matter the circumstances -- are we listening Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid? -- when he said "I sincerely believe that this country can survive the removal of a popular president who has forfeited public trust. But, our country cannot survive the abandonment of trust itself."

  • More examples that what seems to be OK with them now, wasn't acceptable back in 1999. Here's Wayne Allard (R-CO) on President Clinton: "The Constitution is what preserves the rule of law, and guarantees that we remain a nation of laws, not of men.

"I hold the President to a higher standard because he is the chief law enforcement official of the nation. If he is above the law, then we have a double standard; one for the powerful, and one for the rest."

  • Comment removed

  • GOP hypocrisy: - Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) was aghast. He was indignant as hell about how having a high public official involved in something like perjury and obstruction of justice can damage the very foundation on which our nation was built -- and he had the harsh words to show for it. (cont.)

  • "By his words and deeds he chose to place himself above the law. By his words and deeds he has undermined the rule of law in America to the great harm of this nation," the Kansas Republican said. "By his own words and deeds, he has undermined the truth-finding function of the judiciary, at great harm to that branch of our government. By his words and deeds, he had done great harm to the notions of honesty and integrity that form the underpinnings of this great republic." (cont.)

  • And here's the Brownback kicker: "We have lost many things over the past few months: trust in public officials, respect for the rule of law, confidence in the truth of the White House's public statements. But perhaps the most tragic loss has been the steady erosion of our societal standards." (cont.)

  • That's Brownback in his closed-door impeachment statement on President Bill Clinton, that was read into the Congressional Record on February 12, 1999. - You didnt get all excited thinking he was commenting on that Scooter Libby thing, did you? (cont.)

  • I can understand if you did. After all, Libby was convicted of those same charges and sentenced within federal guidelines to a 30-month prison sentence, only to have his friend George W. Bush decide on Monday that anything over, well, zero days in jail was "excessive" when it comes to a White House crony. (cont.)

  • But then again, Brownback is hardly alone in the hypocritical silence being shown by the very same Republican Senators who in 1999 voted guilty on both the perjury and obstruction of justice charges against Clinton. The vote took place on that February 12, with the Senate acquitting Clinton of both articles of impeachment -- the perjury charge got 45 guilty votes while the obstruction-of-justice article resulted in a 50-50 split. (cont.)

  • Now, the question before us. Is the rule of law applied evenly in the United States; regardless of political party?

Or does accountability only apply to the actions of a Democratic administration?

  • Can there be reconcilliation without Justice?

  • "Sibel Edmonds' State Secrets Gallery of Rogues" - ( watch?v=F-dNjrVhc2U )

  • Truth from a fascist government?

    Never happen!

  • A country that believes in the rule of law or no one is above the law, why do you think we have these problems, are you kidding (blowback), its just a buy off to get people to buy the illusion of truth. Lets clear the whole slate, I'm not perfect, the whole thing, see who else in the world will, then go after who still wants to play the old games of beauracrasy, propaganda, secret police, enslave and exploit the people! God is on the side of truth, no matter how ugly!

    We can handle it.

  • Jesus Christ Leahy, you had your shot at finding the truth when it really counted and you blew it! Now all of a sudden you have grown a pair, all be it a pair that doesnt want to prosecute anyone but instead to ensure immunity and find out the truth!!!!

Sounds like a toothless lion to me. Sit down and shut up Leahy. Your last administration was imperialistic and committed war crimes everyday, why not make a criminal case out of it. There is more than enough evidence!

  • Leahy's "last administration?"

    The Republicans hated Leahy.

Where have you been for the last 8 years?

Leahy was referred to as belonging to the most "obnoxious" delegation in DC. Why? Because Leahy, Sanders, Jeffers and Welch were the only ones speaking up against Bush, Cheney & Company.

Leahy had the courage of his convictions to uphold the rule of law as the sponsor of the Habeas Corpus Restoration Act.

Who in Congress is SAYING ONE WORD about prosecution but Leahy?

  • This is truly pathetic. We already know the truth, Senator Leahy. This country has just suffered through eight years of the most secretive, corrupt, destrucive presidential administration to ever sit in our White House. Their mountain of crimes has been extensively documented, except where it counts most: IN A COURT OF LAW. If you truly want to keep it from happening again, you will INSIST on PROSECUTION. This is not about vengeance. It's about JUSTICE. You need to stand up and DEMAND it.

  • unless this country makes ammends, corrects the mistakes, and prosecutes the crimes committed over the last 8 years, we should not expect to be taken seriously on the world stage. we cannot profess to be a nation of laws while ignoring the violations of our core principles by the previous administration. the best description of this situation is: HYPOCRASY

  • The FBI went after the communists, the FBI went after the Vietnam protesters, the FBI went after Martin Luther King JR, the FBI went after the people against the people against the Iraq war, the FBI didn't tell the truth about JFK, or the CIA drug running. Get the picture Patrick, you can't tell the truth up there, this whole thing is propaganda against truth, justice, and the core values this nation was built on. Its failed. We have a dishonest society.

  • there is HONOR still somewhere, and it seems to be on the DEMS side!

    NOW THE GOP CRIES SPENDIN?

    NOW THE DEF.?

NOW WHERE IS THE $ GOING TO?

SHAME ON WHO DO NOT SUPPORT PRESIDENT OBAMA AND THE DEMS!

GOP, LET THE DEMS FIX THINGS!

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH OH REPUBLICANS!

EXCEPT FOR THE HONORABLE SENATOR OLMYPIA SNOW AND ONE OR TWO OTHER HONORABLE REPUBLICAN SENATORS, THE REST WILL I GUESS HAVE TO LIVE W/ THIER OWN LACK OF REASON STABILITY AND HONOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
