  • To the pround Protestmen of Ireland we still exist today - even in the North!!

  • You say dont bring bigotry into the comments, then label protestants as 'huns'.

Go fuck yerself ya stupid fenian cunt

  • @Knackers you are aware fenian means brave warrior retard do some research before posting

  • Comment removed

  • what about the ten protestant workmen that the ira murdered at kingsmill. murdered for there religion nothing else

  • @mmcn7535 probably cause they were loyalists not protestants am I right

  • @Stevenbfg Don,t talk shit. Present one piece of evidence that these men were shot for any other reason than that they were protestants. You won,t be able too. You like this so called song are sad beyond belief

  • @mmcn7535 You don't talk shit. Present one piece of evidence that these men were shot for any other reason than that they were loyalists. You are aware the founding members of the ira and leaders of the home rule parties were protestants right?

  • @Stevenbfg Catch yourself on.Tell me this .If i was to use your methodolgy, the catholic member of the the UVF unit that carried out the the loughinisland 1994 massacre, was a great freedom fighter or was he a traitor. And also the catholic members of the ulster unionist party what do you think of them????

  • I'm from United Irishmen stock. Pure Fenian.

There's only one thing worse than a black and tan and thats a prod. all ye listen up. Now wolfe tone was a fine fellow, but ye go near him with some holy water and it would burn him. says so in the bible.

    up the ra!

  • @bitofagoat Thanks for that .

  • Comments are quite interesting but not alot are looking at the Loyalist perspective realistically. Its very easy to say that alot of them are blinded nutjobs and I gree many are but their (and my) Grandfathers didnt frame the Ulster Covenant for simple blind faith to the Union, its important to remember that it was for pragmatic, industrial reasons. The latter day offspring dont know their history which leads them to have a blind faith. Their Grandfathers were not like this.

  • @Funloverdude Hence Sinn Feins Unionist outreach policy. The truth is that old rivalries aside, there r many more practical & economic reasons for reunification than there is for NI remaining part of Brit. I hope unionists consider this when de inevitable referendum comes & dont simply blindly vote along tribal lines. The fact is that Brits prescence in Ireland is poison (even though unintentional in the modern day) & as long as it continues, the 2 communites will never ever live in harmony

  • @borledx we would be bankrupt even more so if we got the north back now wed never recover unfortunately

  • @liamobrien06 And you know this how? Have you done a master degree in trinity on economics? The economic crisis is a current 1 & will pass. Boom Bubble cyvles r the nature of capiltalism. The economy is basically sound & 1 of the most advanced in the world. The prob is a banking one. Once they to grips with that, we'll b back in the game. ANyway fuck money, if we thought like that we may as well start handing over every Co that doesnt make a profit. e.g. Donegal, cavcan, Mayo, etc

  • @Funloverdude Hi there good post. But lets not try and label all together there is enough that attack us. Put your skills to to good use. The pen is mightier than the sword.

  • also i am a socialist church of Ireland same as ragtagbag88! socialist ireland revolt! over throw this puppet one world sell out governemtn and lets give connolly his dream! rise up! lets free our country again!

  • protestant irish and proud!!! although i do want a change in government!

  • tiocfaidh ar la

  • Religion was irrelevant to Republicanism: it was the Loyalists who tried to make it an issue as a way of garnering support and fear in the north.

  • why do people insist on living in the fucking past, never mind about the famine or the plantation being over how about this one THE TROUBLES ARE FUCKIGN OVER so why the fuck must u insist on carrying on the pointless hatred of each other

  • why do people insist on living in the fucking past, never mind about the famine or the plantation being over how about this one THE TROUBLES ARE FUCKIGN OVER so why the fuck must u insist on carrying on the pointless hatred of each other

  • Here's to the Presbyfenians!

  • the pope was in the polish hitler youth lol

  • @kidri0t actually he tried to resist and his family payed for that in blood. then after seeing members of his family killed he was conscripted into it

  • I´m from "ulster protestant" stock... my grandfather is from the Shankill Road, at first had no nationalist inclinations but sympathised with NICRA, and had many friends on the Falls Road (including the family of Pat Finucane), The UDA dragged him away (on suspicion of being an IRA sympathiser) and tortured him almost to death. My grandad hasn´t forgotten what happened to him, and has ever since been a proud socialist republican. Like myself.

  • In america, what few protestant irish men there were, fought in the american civil war, while the irish catholic disserted from the north army.

Sadly, america is now a country which is pretty much ran by the Vatican. It controls the two major political parties. This is why whenever a president gets elected here, they mainly appoint roman catholics to various government offices.

ANyone who cares about freedom and God shouldn't hate you for this video.

  • @LiquidSmooth

the only catholic to ever get elected was shot...

  • @cluch9 Well, the only outwardly Catholic Prseident was shot. But there are many openly catholic government officials in other areas, and in fact, catholics dominate the other areas of office. And even some who say they are Episcopal, they belong to ecumenical churches, they are more catholic than protestant. But we have deffinately had many elected Presidents that were closet catholics. George Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, to name just a few recent ones.

  • @LiquidSmooth

what the fuck is a closet catholic? clinton was a baptist

  • @cluch9 A baptist? Did his church belong to the ecumenical movement? What is a baptist nowadays? Are they even protestant anymore?

A closet catholic is someone who claims to be of some other denomination besides catholic, but who actually is catholic. See, many people were afraid, especially in the early years of america, that if they openly declared they were catholic, most protestants wouldn't vote for them. So you had some politicians join churches just to look non-catholic.

  • @cluch9 The Jesuit oath actually gives people permission to lie about their faith, as long as it helps them infiltrate to help gain the Catholic CHurch power.

  • @LiquidSmooth Spoof report

  • what you disagreeing for? i was was only trying to be nice :( :(

  • Jesus Christ has returned. I AM.

  • Accidentally drove into the funeral? Hahhahahaha wise up you silly cunt.

  • All irish men should stand together!!! regardless of religon

  • @fatherfluffybottom Well said Sir! Bigotry is the tool used by the rulers to divide the people. As the song says.....

    North men, South men

    Comrades All!!!

  • @fatherfluffybottom Hear, hear!

  • the devil controls n.ireland

  • I agree w/ catholothism

  • hey claurarau u sound like fuckin Hitler go blow on ur mother

  • how, I have friends who are Catholic, but if you want a truly independent Ireland, that includes a man considered infallible sitting on a throne in Rome. How is disagreeing with Catholicism and voicing it make you a fascist. If you disagree, let's argue religion. let's not mix religion and politics.

  • yee haa for all our nationalist heroes!!!!!!!

  • Long live the Protestant, end all Catholics to be convert it to the protestant faith!!!

  • u r the traitor u worship a foreign prince what sits on his throne in rome

mr setzer the eirsh would do better to ally themselves to those they share a comman bond with i e angles saxons and jutes

  • Neither of you are traitors, and the Pope is not a Prince. Do not be bigot on this video, or comments will be removes.

  • @lvcivs11 i believe the decendants of the gaels would be better served to shed their belief in asian prophets forced on them 2k years ago. and return to the old ways. spirituality. belief in re incarnation and magic. would probably find you have more in common with each other than you think then.

  • @markbotv3 I agree.

  • yo boys this is a great song. im a proud irish prod and i h8 the english. im glad that the prods got a song that reminds us what the IRA fought 4. to get the english out not the prods. sure 1 o da leaders o da 1916 rising was a prod. fair play. why cant the prods and cathlics get along as we used 2. fight side by side and get the english basterds out!!!!!!!!!!!!! up the IRA.

  • Protestants and catholics can get along. Patrick Pearse was Protestant. So are many other republicans. The problem is that England put bigotry into the heads of people and that is why there is no united Ireland yet.

  • they will whiper honeyed words in ur ear and u will wake up saying republic republic oliver cromwells republic was the worst opressor of the eirsh society and men must be governed by tradition and princes

  • Exactly, the bigots on both sides think they are acting for themselves.

In reality they are continuing the work of the English govt. in driving a wedge between Gaelic Scotland and Ireland all those years ago.

Today they divide their own people. Time for people to read some history books - divide and conquer is a very old tactic and some people still don't know this.

I think it was Castro who said 'an uneducated people is an easily fooled people'

  • Pearse was a Catholic. His father converted to Catholicism in 1870.

  • cause i was born in 1993

    which makes me 16 O.o

    I make my own decisions

and wont just support a team because of one side's majority is

    catholic or protestant

i'm protestant and support celtic because of the pride and spirit

i dont support rangers because of their

sectarianism and face it they're purely shit

even tho we got beat yesterday

    it's not over yet. :)

  • sorry but there is a great deal of pride and spirit at ibrox believe me!!! and bigots on BOTH sides which is unfortunate, and if were shit then god knows what you bhoys are.

  • Ok so you dont support Rangers because of their sectarianism, yet you would support a club that sing songs in support of terrorism? Also a song that says 'soon there'll be no protestants at all'. You are a weird one you.

  • Thats called HYPOCRISY mate,

The church of rome have used that as their bed-rock and built their corrupt, dominant , bullying religion around it since records began. A member of the Hitler Youth as their leader (or the holy father as those bead-rattlers call him). Doesn't that tell you all you need to know!

  • Comment removed

  • ha, this is great.

  • u dont gotta be catholic to be a pround irish man

im atheist and im proud to be irish if ireland was under attack i would be in the front line

and i have respect for anyone who loves ireland

  • from Glasgow, Scotland not ireland :)

  • i love this song. yes i am a prod from the south and ill fight anyone against prods and anyone against united ireland. too many muppets in ireland think i have toi be a brit because im a prod.

up prods! up irleand! united prods and cats.

  • Well said. It's a shame northern protestants don't realise what country they're living in.

  • We do know what country we live in its called THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND

  • The clock is ticking! Tick tock tick tock!

  • the clocks been ticking for eight hundred years now , we're not worried , you'll never see an united Ireland , I 'm sorry but some dreams just don't come to pass .

the cry is still NO SURRENDER !

  • You'll be cryin alright!!!!!

  • big bomb in Newry tonight , wonder how many "Protestant men" were involved in that ? i would safely say NONE . As for the word "cry " in my last post thats a battle cry not tears you you dope, and I see you haven't much to say about the first part of my post , the truth sometimes can really piss you off

  • Ever hear of a device called a play on words?

What relevance has your 1st sentence to this song?

I'm not pissed off at all. Banter, and all that.

  • OK , in 1798 protestants were devided , some under the influance of what happened in America became republican.that phase lasted about 15-20 years , the children and grandchildren of the protestant republicans of 1798 were almost to a man loyalist indeed most of the( protestant ) rebels must have ended up loyalist ( how else would their children become loyalists ) .

this song implies that todays protestants if you were to scratch just under the surface are are republicans , just not true

  • Protestant Celtic supporter since '93 :)

  • It begs a question - would Ulster Presbyterians prefer an Irish Republican Protestant or a British Unionist Roman Catholic? I think I know the answer - the Ulster clerical and political class have simply used Orangism and bigotry to fabricate a sense of nationality based on crude tribalism savoured with a self-righteous zeal of Calvinist siege mentality. In post-war N.Ire Protestants workers could have had solidarity with Catholics but they were divided by demagogery and Orangism.

  • I'm from United Irishmen stock.

My grandfather was a runner for Tom Clarke & took messages by bicycle during Easter Week.

My parents met at university in the 50's, were Church of Ireland but strong socialist ideals & involved in NICRA in the 60's. There were lots of non-catholics involved.

    I was raised C of I

We were burnt out of our home by Paisley's thugs. He said in his paper we were Romanist sympathisers IRA supporters

My politics are based on the correctness of ideas & Connolly

  • You parents sound like very sound people. I have huge respect for people with socialist leanings.

  • @RAGtagBAG88

I´m from "ulster protestant" stock... my grandfather is from the Shankill Road, at first had no nationalist inclinations but sympathised with NICRA, and had many friends on the Falls Road (including the family of Pat Finucane), The UDA dragged him away (on suspicion of being an IRA sympathiser) and tortured him almost to death. My grandad hasn´t forgotten what happened to him, and has ever since been a proud socialist republican. Like myself.

  • @myhandle100 be proud my friend trl

  • @myhandle100 I hope some time you will stand for all rights and just not that of the nationalist

  • @RAGtagBAG88 I want to be your friend

  • When will people learn that organized religions ARE brainwashing hate cults!

& with my irish ancestry, i AM ornage & green... i have prtoestant catholic, & quaker irish greats!!!

cladddagh care for ALLL irish & a return to celtic spirituality, john ireland!!!

  • Don't be fucking racist ! Galloway can be whatever religion he wants , al this racist crap is ridiculous , no real Irish man who engage with that rubbush !

  • good song

  • Comment removed

  • No, it is just for Catholics. Just because your friends want to throw back a few beers, this does not make it "for everyone."

  • whats just for catholics? get me out of ireland i dare you!!!!!!! i am more irish than many catholics.

  • George Galloway gave up his faith to further the cause of Islam and other than Muslims and left wing do gooders no one in Scotland wants him.

  • A lot of you are missing the point about the Protestants, they were Irish not of British origin so were fighting for thier own country, so to call them traitors is a bit strange, as late as 1987 Irish protestants were still within the ranks of the Provisional IRA. The operative word here is IRISH. As for Mr Galloway, well here is a man who is helping Islam destroy Christianity within the British isles (including Ireland). All Christians must stand together.

  • Just intrigued, what happened to the Provo Protestants after 1987, if anything?

  • much talk of galloway on here' as a londoner[of irish decent] ill add my bit 2 the argument' galloway is a bigot/self seeking/divisive/egotistical lunatic/who is fuelling the muslim fanatics in east london/ and dividing the local community of whom he is supposed to representing' let him go back to glasgow''they are welcome him'.

  • Actually, you're the traitor to your own country: Ireland.

  • Scotland is definetly not a Catholc country and they are not in the majority. Protestant is easily the biggest religion and the majority are protestant. That being said most people younger than 40 do not give a damn about religion anymore. I must admit that I am glad that it is this way as religion is a big pile of bollocks in my opinion. As Marx said it is the opiate of the masses.

  • I would be interested to hear his argument for why Catholics in Scotland would suffer if Scotland became independent. I am sure he has some reason for this view. He is a knowledgable person and is against injustice and I am sure he must have a reason for saying this. Did he bother to elaborate when he allegedly said this?

  • I am aware of the show you are talking about but I have never heard him say this. That does not mean he did not say these things as I have not listened to it for a while as I have not lived in Scotland for nearly 3 years.

I know he is a catholic and I know he has issues regarding the discrimination of catholics in Scotland in the recent past but I am surprised to hear that he has said these things and that he is pro union knowing his past and views on certain areas of politics. Is there a link?

  • What are you on about m8? What do you mean that George Galloway is playing the religous card already, please explain as I find this hard to believe.

  • bigbadbluenoserfc you really are an ignoramous. Ulster is not British, well at least not all of it. I am from Scotland and even I know that. If you do your homework you will see that Ulster is in actual fact 9 counties and not 6 like you seem to think. 3 of the counties are part of the Republic and Britain divided the land so as to have a protestant majority, so if it came to a referendum they would win. However, the times are changing and in the future the catholics will be the majority lol.

  • UP THE RA

  • a ratatatatatatatatatatatatatat

  • Fucking accept it ULSTER IS BRITISH AND ALWAYS WILL BE, so all you inbreeds crawl back to what ever hole yez came from, ya dirty fenian, kiddy fiddling raping bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FUCK THE POPE AND THE IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY

  • BIG BAD BLUE NOSE ??? wat a name to use ur queen is writing up ur knighthood as we speck big lad .. wen u say BIG BAD BLUE dos that really mean ur TALL and OVER WEIGHT and a UDA CEASEFIRE SOLIDER (IE) LIKE WEE IHABE ( who should have went to rehabe ) whos mother was a catholic from GERRY ADAMS MP AREA ballymurphy who did fuck all until well after the 1994 ceasefire!! DRUG DEALING SCUMBAGS

  • I think we know who are really the ones who are inbred! And you are just an underclass piece of scum with all your cursing. You have no self-respect and no respect for God; otherwise you wouldn't be lowering yourself and swearing. You know you're just uneducated scum.

  • tiocfadih ar la our day will come

fuck the queen and the uda n btw maybe the invaders of the north showed fuck off ya dik

  • hahahahahahahah fuck u all

go on home the famines over

    fuck the pope

    no surrender

  • HAHAHAHAHA fuck you all, go on home the plantations over! Fuck King billy! Tiocfaidh ár lá :)

  • @darrin42 Yeah... No bigoted comments... One rule for them, eh?! lol

  • Yes, it's not half as black and white as some have tried to make out. Also, it was the Anglican church that championed the Irish language and quite a few Presbyterians in NI spoke and prayed in Irish (Gaeilge). Today, there is still a Presbyterian bible group in county Antrim that pray and study in Irish. The Catholic church actually discouraged Irish in favour of Latin. It's amazing how history has become very skewed to suit certain sections of society. Ireland - United we stand.

  • Yes, indeed. A lot of brainwashing and misinformation has gone on for ever so long unfortunately.

Are you from NI or Scotland?

  • If the proddies has won in 1789, the whole of Ireland now would be just like the north. The catholics ruled by the protestants.

  • No, not true actually. Surely you mean 1798? What do you even know about the 1798 Rebellion? Under Wolfe Tone, the United Irishmen (who consisted of Protestants and Catholics alike) declared their belief in a peaceful future for Ireland in which Protestants and Catholics could live together in peace and with equality. They wanted to set up a French-styled democratic republic in Ireland, which was independent of Britain.

    So, what's your point?

  • Yes that was a typo haha. But why do you think the prods change their allegiance from Ireland to England. Because they realised mother England across the water was a less of threat to their power than the catholics living amongst them. Do you think these people would have voluntary relinquished their power to the majority after the rebellion?

  • It wouldn't have been a question of anyone 'relinquishing' power...it would have been a democratic Republic...what part of that don't you understand? There was always a small Orange Order contingent in the 1700's who favoured creating a UK with Britain. This subsequently happened in 1801, after London, wishing to 'claim' the island of Ireland, used its usual trick of 'divide and conquer' & encouraged more moderate Protestants who had previously gone under the United Irishmen banner to go pro-UK.

  • Was there a country in the world that had proper democracy then? no you could only vote if you had property who had all the property in Ireland? The Prods.

  • Most of the Irish freedom fighters were actually Protestant - Wolfe Tone, Charles Parnell & Henry Joy Mc Cracken, just to name a few. And Douglas Hyde, our first President and strong proponent of Irish, was Protestant. This is something which is lost on many Loyalist Ulsterfolk. Indeed, it was Presbyterians who were the driving force for freedom and they were also persecuted (albeit a bit less) as well as Catholics, during the Penal Laws imposed by Britain. It's strange Protestants forget this.

  • who gave their live to free our land

  • Anti-Sectarian Republicanism

  • Republicanism by its very Nature, and history is Unsectarian! Sectarians, are not Republicans. It can never be so

  • Well Said

    TiocFaidh Arla

  • Then why did the Provisional IRA shoot ten Protestants at Kingsmill? Why did they consistantly bomb Protestant areas?

The Provisional IRA are a sectarian terrorist organisation who fought for a goal that the overwhelming majority of people in Northern Ireland didn't want.

  • i cant understand y Prostestant and Catholics in Ireland unite together and form a "United Ireland", i want 2 say this because they both r "irish" either way, also they follow the same God and their king is Jesus Christ, i will only say, neither religion, nor country they follow, they should unite under a United Ireland.

  • It has very little to do with religion. Rather, it has to do with politics, identity and history. Of course they're all Irish.

  • Protestant Men died 4 a united ireland so show some respect.its the uda, uff, you should hate

  • I'm Protestant and I love this. Thanks for posting this. I appreciate it. :)

  • The fact that it is a derogatory term for protestants is exactly WHY it DOES make sense.

What you need to do is a bit of research into why the term hun was used to describe SOME of them but not all. Ya tramp ;)

  • Where does the word hun come from any way?

  • world war I. the word hun first described the german soldiers in flanders and was a derogatory term. the irish saw the germans as allies, following a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" policy. so they started calling the english and scottish occupiers as huns.

  • Really? Somebody called me "hun" once. Is it really derogatory?

  • When was the last time the British checked to see if N.I wanted to go to Ireland or stay the way it is?

  • They even split up some counties to maintain a Protestant majority in NI. Donnegal was actually part of Ulster but they made that part of the Republic so they could win referendums but it is changing now and it is predicted Catholics will hold the majority in the near future so if there is a referendum Ireland will be united and you hun cunts can flee to England.

  • thats just a horrible statement, you do realise your refering to half of northern ireland as cunts. this country is generally made up of decent people. once there is a referendum held and we are voted a united ireland, there will be some violence obviously, but the vast majority of protestants will adapt and it wont have much of an affect because the democratic process has been followed.

  • Decent men my fucking arse they claim the republic of ireland as a foreign country, they live on irish soil yet call it british, they want to live in britain they can fuck off over the sea

  • nobody alive today claimed the country as britain. these men are born in a british state. how is it anything to do with them. everything isn't so simple as "fuck off over sea" these people are every bit as irish as you.

  • You Catholics make me laugh. You talk about how there's so much discrimination against you and then you go and make a comment like that. And don't call me hun you fool. For your information this song is about Protestants who fought the British.

  • why are you laughing? i dont hear protestant's singing about catholic irish men fighting in world war 1 or 2. So HUN, the tones are singing about and acknowledging those protestants who agreed with an united ireland.

  • I'm on your side you idiot. I like this song.

  • It is a well known tactic of the British government when they have to retreat from a country and give them back their sovereignty. They split Ireland to stir up religious hatred so they could hold on to the profitable parts. They did the same in India when they made Pakistan. They are total scum and have a lot of blood on their hands.

  • Bhí fir Protastúnach ag troid in aghaidh Sasana?

  • uvf

  • From México : Eire Free

  • Good song shows that Faith isn't a reason for division.

  • Right. I agree.

  • belfastman Henry Joy McCracken!

  • religion and politics should be separate things. The english treated the protestant disenters (those protestants who were not anglican)just as badly as catholics and so at that time england wasnt much to be loyal to, you have to put these episodes in their historical contexts.

  • i am a southern protestant , my family isnt british , so hat the fuck are you babbling about you retard.

  • The moron who's babbling doesn't seem to understand what the song is about. He or she thinks all Protestants are Pro-British. What a retard.

  • wanker

  • no its the other way around. if u knew anything abot history

  • respect from across the water in scotland

  • YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • i love this song and am glad the wolfe tones made it some people need the reminder that its not Catholic V Protestant

  • here here! power to ye, fab comment- up the united men

  • agreed there.
