  • Which note does he scream in "Grace"?

  • Freddie Mercury and Jeff Buckley are my two favorite singers with exceptional and unique qualities. Comparing them is a bit pointless. It's not like we're comparing Jeff Buckley with T-Pain(who?) I'm just glad I can listen to both of them. Two fantastic singers whose lives were cut short. One at 30 and another at 45 years of age but still much too young.

  • pleeeease write the songs down!

  • @amelialennon Check the description

  • Excelent Dude!, but you forgot the song with his Highest note (Eb6). At Gunshot Glitter

  • I think like Robert Plant, Freddy and Jeff were the best vocalist in the world :)

  • The purest voice, angelic really. So friggin amazing. Why?

  • dinks song always gets me.

  • All falsetto.

  • @CuriosityRoads That's head voice ,sometimes high mix

  • @Mr1GingerBread1 Nah, some mix sure. But mostly falsetto.

  • there's another version of night flight where he goes way higher than all of these.

  • @jericho4590 What version is it? (I'm trying to find out Jeff's real vocal range [looking for real low tones on one side and for real high ones in all his recorded stuff ])

  • @kroogerdios if you go on you tube and type in jeff buckley night flight it is the first one uploaded by kyleleyonard, (get both version's and listen to the end note in quick succsesion of each other) and you'll see that is this version it's maybe even an octave higher. :)

  • you should add the note from gunshot glitter, it's higher than all of these... no joke. his voice peaks out. fucking crazy

  • I dont care what fucking voice it is...hes better than Freddie Mercury hands down.

  • @hand2gland That my friend is ridiculous. You may say it's opinion but I'm 100% sure you know not much more than Freddie's vocals of Bohemian Rhapsody like the average ignorant asshole that opens their mouth about him. That's not at all to say Jeff isn't great but come on now...

  • there are some insane vocals, not high notes per se (but still worth the listen, mandatory really :) on Dream Brother from Live at l'Olympia.

  • please please write the songs in order:/

  • @dolunaydainsanolan I'm on it

  • @FakeMusicSnob

    thanks:)

  • @dolunaydainsanolan Grace, Corpus Christi Carol, Night Flight, Dink's Song, The Way Young Lovers Do, Sweet Thing, Twelfth of Never,

  • Where's that nose-bleed note he hits in Gunshot Glitter?

  • dink's song was his best performance i think. never tire of that.

  • jeff hardly ever sings in falsetto.. most of this is a blending of chest and head or just head voice.

  • i think his falsetto is better than freddie mercury's.

  • @TheFilmGuy999 its not falsetto its head voice

  • @prouck no only some of these notes are falsetto most are head voice

  • This was great! Thanks. His falsetto might even be comparable to Freddie Mercury's. It's different, his having a more Rock inclination but it's very impressive.

  • @Typhoon792 Per say, Jeff has greater range (This is a fact. Don't spam me with "Freddie Mercury has 4 octaves" because he doesn't) and in my opinion a better voice.

  • @TheRockLover1000 First of all, nobody was spamming anybody, especially not you. And don't open your mouth when you clearly don't know what the fuck you're talking about. What's your problem? Or should that be plural?... I never even mentioned who has greater range and neither would I get into it because it clearly wouldn't be any intelligent back and forth with you. Try loving rock 1000 IQ points +. Get out of the negative there buddy.

  • @Typhoon792 Ah fuck.....I wasn't referring to you when I said, "Don't spam me", I was referring to the crazed part of Mercury fans. Sorry if you think that meant you :P

  • @TheRockLover1000 Well, regardless, I'm looking at what you're saying, & you can have your own opinion, but I know Queen inside and out, as a whole and individually. I've heard probably all the demo recordings - just everything, and quite frankly I don't understand why you feel so compelled to put Freddie Mercury down.. He is one of the greatest vocalists, whether you like him or not for whatever god damn reason, as any singer would tell you based on his sheer vocal abilities and musical genius.

  • @Typhoon792 I'm not putting Mercury down. I regard him as the One of the Greatest Vocalists in Rock, along with Robert Plant, Jeff Buckley, Axl Rose (Yeah). I've just grown tired of some of his crazed fans who seem to think he IS God, that he is the best, and he has the Greatest Vocal Range, and Queen is the greatest band ever.

  • @TheRockLover1000 Why would that be irritating to you if you regard him as great as well? Every one of the people you mentioned has those kind of fans. I dunno what calling him God has to do anything but I would agree with the general sentiment. You might in fact be worth talking to. Maybe I'll show you some stuff at some point. Doubt it'll change your opinion but it's basically why this man is ridiculous.

What you're also not considering is the range based on "TYPE" of voice.

  • @Typhoon792 Comparable to Freddie are you kidding me? Not to slander one of the greatest singers of all time, but if freddie tried to hold some of these notes as long as Jeff his voice would crack all over the place. Not saying Jeff is better that is preference, and I love Freddie, and Queen, but Jeff is otherworldly. I think Freddie in a lot of cases is kind of overrated, before him Ian Gillan, Plant, and Jeff's father Tim were all quite amazing, and there were ton's others.

  • @DavidKinner Jeff and Freddie are definitely in a league together that is miles ahead of everyone else in rock music, but Freddie is definitely better, some of the stuff he sang was way out there and Jeff couldn't sing that yet Freddie could have sung all of Jeff's stuff, look up Freddie's high notes to get the picture.

  • @DyingSID666 Freddie Mercury is overrated. His high notes were mostly executed in a weak, breathy falsetto, and his technique was poor. The dude had no idea about correct breathing or vocal placement and sounded awful most of the time.

  • @CuriosityRoads Have you even heard Innuendo?, the guy was a year out from death and AIDS was destroying him and he lays down that shit, get real mate. He couldn't hit high notes like Jeff Buckley did, but could Jeff Buckley hit low notes with the power that Freddie did, i think not. Plus Freddie gets points for singing on a few classic songs that were classics because of his vocal lines. Not to mention the note he hit at the end of Its Late.

  • @CuriosityRoads You know nothing of music and most of all, the voice. I know I shouldn't open a can of worms with you but to downright call the most prolific, beloved singers of all time a bad singer is fucking stupid and shows you no nothing. Do you even know what falsetto is? Do you know what belting is? Do you know what Mixed voice is? Do you know how to distinguish head voice from falsetto? I doubt you do. ALL of Queen songs sung by Freddie that were "heavy" high notes are Belted or Mixed.

  • @Alexander87oclock No, the question is, do YOU know anything about singing? I have a great amount of knowledge of the subject. Freddie's technique was lame. His mixed voice was underdeveloped and consequently he sang like he was taking a shit 90% of the time. I don't expect you to be capable of seeing this objectively since I checked out your page and 90% of your favourites list comprises of Queen songs. Lol.

  • @CuriosityRoads Poor technique yes but so did Robert Plant and many other singers in rock n' roll. Obviously you and I aren't going to see eye to eye because this topic is very subjective. However, if you look at any poll done about singing Freddie Mercury 95% of the time comes out on top. Both male and female. And for you to say that it sounds like he is taking a shit 90% of the time, just makes you look even dumber.

  • @Alexander87oclock Mercury and Plant had mediocre techniques (though Mercury improved A LOT towards the end), both of them sounded incredible though. Two amazing singers.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos Totally agree, 2 of the best vocalists of all time with so-so techniques. IMO Jeff's technique was far superior.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos I dont know about that! I am way closer to Buckley's voice than I am to Plant. Plant had some of the fullest thickest soprano high notes Ive ever heard.

Buckley's high notes are thin and flighty. And also very pretty.

  • @Alexander87oclock If You want some REAL singing, check out the Graham Bonnet video on my page. Now THAT is a singer!

  • @DyingSID666 They're just different. It's impossible to say who was better because they excel at totally different things. Jeff's high notes and technique blows Freddie's out of the water, but Freddie's power is unmatched in a lot of ways. It's different, no other way to put it.

  • @michaelhays92 Exactly, Jeff was ethereal, Freddie was Bombastic.

  • @DavidKinner jeff is probably one of the most technically skilled rock singers of all time is voice wouldnt crack half as much as freddie's did and he had fantastic breath support and great voice control that freddie didnt have not trying to say that freddie isnt one of the best though
