    have an amazing Christmas :)

    The Almighty Fallen

  • the only song i like from them. yea the woman dances like elain from seinfel.

  • My favorite song ever. It makes me cry almost every time I hear it.

  • His wife did pretty good when he was playing his solo. She did much better after that. Before, she just seemed... too much of an alto.

  • Does Colin have a lazy eye or something? I kept noticing one of his eyes going to the right when I was watching the Scrubs episode he was in.

  • She should just back down a little

  • Nothing against the woman but thi

  • She can't dance, but she's definitely a bit of cougar, no?

  • @rjcross She's only a cougar is she's out draggin' in young meat. You are thinkin' MILF...and I'm not sure that qualifies, cuz I've never seen anything that says she has kids. :)

  • that was class,,,loop nob ed!

  • OMG Its a the second verse without scrubs. is world coming to an end?

  • am i the only one who notices at 2:05, that he looks like he having a stroke?

  • @geekyt4 +1

  • Never has a woman danced in a manner so goddamn white.

  • his wife is peruvian

  • I came here because Scrubs

  • great men at work.

  • I can't resist a perfect song, hence the comment here. It has to be difined as the perfect song with a scot attached. Only joking Colin. There are so few people with the inate 'God given' and you, you lucky Bast*rd are one of them. you have the magic.

    Just keep it up please.

  • @jaries12 Thumbs up :D

  • He can still perfectly. A very unique voice. Great song too.

  • Who cares if she isn't great? What could be better then doing what you love with the person you love?

  • @EdwardElric1928 Agree 100%! Mr. Hay has a great talent and I don't think she took anything away from being with him on stage. He is a great performer.

  • Great footage thanks for posting the vid.

Colin Hay's partner provides excellent harmony & visuals.

    Great quality sound.

    Cheers!

  • lol hippie women

  • not as good as the regular version (just Colin) but i thought the woman had a nice harmonising voice, especially after about 2:36 :)

  • very nice

  • Damn, this version is really good!

  • scrubs loves colin hays <3

  • good job

  • I always think of this song when i lay awake at night looking at the ceiling for hours on end, when my mind wont quit running :)

  • she's the wife..?

  • I love this song! Does anyone know what the lyrics mean.

  • "diving in too deep" referring to relationships. "Ghosts appear and fade away" memories from past experiences clouding the present moment. "my heartbeat, shows the fear" of repeating the same self-destructive behavior with future relationships. "I can't get to sleep. I think about the implications" of making decisions that will lead to more "ghosts". "Smell the desperation" of someone feeling trapped in the past, fearing an inability to create. (Open to interpretation. Just my take on the song).

  • I do not think this song is filled with any sarcasm or enough metaphors to confuse the outward meaning of the lyrics....

  • I think Cecilia was a good addition to the song. I prefer this version to the solo version

  • I've met Cecilia on many occasions, she is the most gracious woman! Please don't be rude.

  • his wife ruined this, he is anamazing talent, but you can't concentrate on him with her flapping about

  • Um, who played the rhythm guitar when he played the solo??

  • watch his foot just before the solo, he uses a loop right there...

  • Yeh, I noticed that. Interesting 'modern' addition to the 'live acoustic' gig. Still, one of my fave guitar solo's... worth playing!

  • @jimmylingg - Here's a loop: It's tough to get older, perhaps voices can't reach the same high notes and also our fingers cannot play an older song as fast, but u gotta love the part when he upstrokes on the D last chorus outro, I didn't know til seeing this vid that Cecilia Noel is his wife, both wonderfully talented and she inspires him and balances him vocally "especially" near the end.

  • @jimmylingg WOW... he's right! ... i love this song!

  • @piginasack probably playback software? lol ie a ''one man band'' he can play a section , software records it and he can set it to play back that section when he hits a button or through the entire song so it was either pre-recorded or from when he first started the song he pulled a fast one lol

  • @piginasack There is a guitar pedal that mimics the chord progression you've been playing prior and loops it thus playing the chords.

  • I agree - if I were him I'd have hit her with the guitar! ;p

  • awesome

  • great song

i first saw him on scrubs

    i really like his voice

  • is he australian or american?

    i dunno.

    cause like yehh...?

  • born in scotland...moved to Australia when he was 14...so Scottish and Australian

  • Scottish born, moved to Australia at a fairly young age.

  • Actuallty he is a Scottish immigrant that resides in Australia.

  • One of the songs he sang while in the band/group "Men at Work" is "Land Down Under"

    I'm guessing he's an Aussie :D

  • From Scotland, went to Australia as a boy, now lives in LA.

  • The basic tab format is available online.

  • damn hearing this song completly takes me to 1983...

  • colin is one funny bastard AND.... a great song writer as well, on ya buddy. Check his enough rope interview with andrew denton

  • I like his wife singing on this.

If you just want him singing it there are plenty versions to watch.

This is different and in tune so that makes it interesting in my book.

If you disagree I am avaliable for a fight.

  • Nice comment, I like that !!!. little chuckle as good as belly laugh times.

  • i meant to say "at times"

  • "if you disagree, I am available for a fight."

This is going in my sig somewhere. I love this.

I also like the song... wife is funny, but in tune. :)

  • one of the best song i know

  • that's his wife

  • Crazy hippie chick!

  • Wow... I used to play that one back in 83 along with a bunch of Men at Work songs. Nothing left now but old cassette tapes of live shows. Our girls were only on the dance floor.

  • The women is weird!! I love this song!!

  • fucking holy song

  • "lalalalalalala" -geeses...and all those gestures...m'god! :S

  • That lady sings some decent background harmonies, but otherwise is a distraction and messes up the song. Too bad.

  • I would agree.

  • I grew up in the 80's and have always loved this song. Keep up the great work, as for his wife singing she did a wonderfull job! Great high notes that sounded good no breaks in them.

  • I have been there!

  • awesome, wonderful playing, beautiful singing and vocal arrangemntes. Great solo btw!

  • i guess that's really beautiful.MAW is my favorite group, and colin is the biggest, the sound of the guitar is sensational.thenks for the music colin.......im from peru but i love english music and australian of course...........

  • Much love. Every time I hear this it makes me want to cover it. Makes me feel weird inside to hear this song as an adult.

  • I should probably actually try to get into the shows at Rams Head, it's almost 1 mile from my residence. Good post, thanks.

  • Colin, y'all come play here in Galveston-We would love you both and you would love us,too!

  • He has always been a fav of mine but after seeing his WIFE he is my new hero! She is hot!!!

  • Simply brilliant, thanks for the posting.

  • btw i'm really impressed that colin plays this song two steps higher than usuall but till manage to raise his voice one octave at the end

  • Thats the key the original was recorded in. The Scrubs version is 2 steps down

  • awesome!

  • What kind of guitar is colin playing ?

  • it's a brand called Maton. a beautiful australian guitar, if u ever encounter one, gotta give it a go, very bright treble with a balanced bass tone.

  • The good ones are bloody expensive thou...

  • This song means more than anything to me... My best mate learnt how to play this song and he used to perform it and every time he would get me into the song somiewhere... It makes me cry when I hear it... lame, I know...

Unfortunately he died... It's rediculous how much I miss him...

I have tried to learn it as a tribute to the greatest guy that i have ever met, but I can't get it as good as he did...

  • Not lame...not lame at all. It's hard when those closest to us pass.

  • @bigdave2208 Be happy that you had someone close to you and cherish the memory, I am sure that you friend would appreciate your efforts, the final product is not the important part.

  • @bigdave2208 ur comment almost made me cry

  • Wow, this one really has it! Colin Hay vs Sting!

  • LOL at that womens dancing. Love this guy.

  • haha lalalala....good song though

  • Haha that chick has no idea how to dance.

Who is she? she seems a bit unnecessary and she's not adding to the performance at all. If anything, she's kind of subtracting.

  • That's Colin's wife.

  • He did well considering but she doesn't seem that appealing as far as this song goes. This song is all Colin. No one else but Colin. When Lazlo Bane covered this song Colin was in it.

  • She sings the song's harmony, and provides vocal instruments to supplement the guitar.

  • exactly, she does thery same vocals harmonies they did in the noriginal recording

  • That part is clear. However she somply doesn't belong in this song. This is an original that will only turn out right for him, and he'll likely be well remembered for that.

  • @jimmylingg Actually most of the harmonies are coming from a Harmony-G Pedal, its most certainly not her voice. The lalalalalala's and weird Ooo on the solos were her.

  • @jmerridew124 define unnecessary ......... ?

  • @grunt182820 Shitty. She adds nothing positive to the experience.

  • @jmerridew124 You're snarky and hateful - how refreshing and original!

  • @grtflmark I was snarky and hateful before it was cool. I used to be an asshole. Now everyone thinks I'm an asshole who's unoriginal.

  • @jmerridew124 yeeee.. i dont like her at all!!

  • perhaps its just imagination but i think colin is a great musician!

  • completely awesome. this is one of my favorite songs of all time and this is undoubtabley the best acoustic version i've heard to date(thanks in no small part to his beautiful wife). thanks for posting. truly, a blessing.

  • never been a big men at work fan,but colin is the best solo......any more please....thanx

  • Wonderful..I was at both shows that night, just amazing how great he is. Do you have any other recordings by chance? I have a number of CD's to trade if you do.
