Does Medialink support MKV files?

I don't see it anywhere on the nullriver site, but I'm pretty sure it does. Just give it a shot. Just a reminder for 360 owners, Connect 360 does the same thing for your console, making up for the lack of a Blu-Ray player. It'll help you hold out until that Zune library gets here with those streaming 1080's.

Whoops, guess it doesn't. I can recommend visualhub for conversion however. Good software, easy to use.

Do you know how to use Medialink to get a file from off the PS3 over to the Mac, i.e. in the other direction?

believe it or not but you can stream VOB files to ps3 without converting ;)

My upnp is available and i turned off my fire wall but i still cant get it to work it says:MediaLink could not start the helper process, please try reinstalling MediaLink

The helper process is a process that runs on startup to listen out for the PS3. Go to System Preferences > Accounts > and login items to see if it's on the list. Mine is running without it, but perhaps it is best to just reinstall.

I tried to change settings and Ya I think its my router. I am getting a new router in the next 2 weeks and I'll see if that works.

Good luck, it's a lot of fun when it's set up. If you're streaming HD content, I recommend using a wired connection for the PS3, it's harder to push content from one wireless device to a router, then to a wireless PS3. If that's not an option for you, you can always copy the videos to the hard drive.

Does this mean it doesn't provide it?

When I first downloaded MediaLink both my PS3 and computer picked eachother up. But when I went to click on the MediaLink folder on my PS3 is said no files to be found.

I downloaded MediaLink, but my PS3 still doesn't seem to read it. I tried EyeConnect as well and it doesn't work.

You may have to enable UPNP for both the PS3 (under network settings) and your router, assuming that it supports UPNP.
