He is trying to inprove its performance ( shift kit in it would that make it shift rough from 1st to 2'nd.) needs adjusting.As far as the heads it will increase But it will get less air cause the ports are smaler.

Msg 2 why would he put a Holley 4 brl Carb in it , a shift kit and cam and then put 305 heads .I'm a bit confused on why he would do that, but I don't know to much about cars

Msg 1 . I have a question. My friend has a 79 El Camino conquista w a small block 350 but the Guy he bought it from put 305 heads. Will that work or decrease power? Also if there's supposedly a shift kit in it would that make it shift rough from 1st to 2'nd.
