Notice when Rashad fought Phill Davis he attempted the standing guillotine, rear naked choke and had Davis in the mounted crusifix for a short period of time. Note that Jon Jones finished matyushenko with the mounted crusifix GNP, Rampage with the RNC and Machida and Ryan Bader with a gulllotine. Jon Jones would of finished Phill Davisin any of those vunerable positions Rashad had him in. Jones arm legth just gives him such and advantage with choke being able to hold guys down. JBJ wins.

I won't make a prediction, but I certainly believe that Evans is capable of beating Jones. I hate it when fans leave comments where they talk as if they could beat either fighter in a given fight. But do you remember the TUF finale, which Rashad won? Well, before the fight, I thought he'd have no chance against a much taller, much bigger Brad Imes.

Jon Jones, I don't think Rashad has a chance unless he uses the lay and pray method. Phil should not be compared to Jon Jones at all they are not in the same league.

Rashad has nothing for Jones, Rashad looked defeated after that "win" over Phil Davis. That was far from a clinic he put on Davis. Jones by domination. Jones has already fought someone who is far better than Rashad, Machida.

@2robjenkins styles make fights... styles make fights. It doesnt matter if he beat machida or not. That was 2008 or 2009 rashad and that was with gregs coaching wanting the fight to stay up on the feet. If machida was truly far better machida could have beaten rampage with ease. But he lost. Machida brings a whole different style totally different from what rashad will bring. thats not comparable. And Evans outwrestled the hell out of the Penn state Division I national Champ. CLINIC.

Evans is very explosive and has good boxing skills but physically he just cannot reach Jones. Rashad's only chance is taking the fight to the ground but once again Jones is an excellent wrestler and his elbows are vicious. I have to favor Jones even though I would love Evans to win. Jones is a bit too arrogant and he is just not likable, not charismatic at all. In my opinion one of the few fighters who can actually beat Jones is Machida in a rematch.

@MrBoardPresident In Jones vs Machida, Jon was totally out of his element, and Lyoto was able to connect with kicks and his straight left. Machidas timing is probably the best in MMA at both avoiding and connecting from the distance. He was a bit unlucky that Jones threw one able and cut him nasty, as well as the second punch in th clinch when it was a 50/50 chance for each fighter. His mistake was letting Jones close the distance. Lyoto could defeat Jones in a rematch.

Jon jones in one year defeated bader, shogun, rampage and lyoto machida all finishes in dominating fashion. Rashad is 5"11 and jon is 6"4 with an 84.5 inch reach. I just don't see what evans can do. Jon jones is favored.

It may take 3 or 4 rounds, but I have little doubt Jones is going to KO Evans. I just don't see anybody in the LW division right now that can hang with Jones. I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon, I've said that since I saw him fight Matt Hamill, this dude is special, like Anderson Silva special.

Styles make fights, yes it sounds cliche and that's because it is but it is also true. It does not matter that Rashad has won most of his recent fights by decision while Jones has finished all of his most recent fights. When these 2 get in the octagon, only their styles will clash, not their records and past opponents. Jones is not the best STRIKER in the world. In fact, TECHNIQUE wise, Rashad is the better TECHNICAL striker of the 2. Can Jones take Evans down? Can Rashad get inside? we'll see!

@kanguesso You can't say Evans is a more technical striker than Jones since Jones and Evans have completely different styles of striking. Evans (primarily Boxing, uses hands) Jones (primarily Muay Thi, uses knees, elbows, and kicks). 2 different styles 2 different techniques.

In terms of overall striking, Jones is the better striker. I guess maybe you could make the argument that Evans KOed some guys a while ago but still Jones been causing sooo much damage lately with his strikes that he wins.

@CaesarThaApeGod Jones' Muay Thai is really laughable. He is not very technical even in Muay Thai. His length and reach give him a huge a advantage. Maybe i cannot compare the two but Evans' boxing is very technical. It is not even about KOs, it is just about the techniques of the arts. You have one opinion and i have another. At the end of the day, there is only one way to find out. We just have to wait and see to get the true answers!

@kanguesso true that people say jon jones has good muay thai but i beleive evans actually has better striking in the technical aspect. You will never see jon jones throw a combination. its either a 1 2, a 1....1.....1.... or a giant spinning flying blackflipping turnbuckling elbow knee helicopter kick that uses up a ton of energy. And idk if anyone has noticed but he's been landing them less and less. I think evans sparring with jones wont get caught up in that mess and he is the Coture of LHWD
