Hi. I just got the same monitor and so far It's great. Am also using it with a MacBook pro. I just had some questions for you, at what level do you have your brightness and contrast? And does your monitor make any noise when you turn down the brightness? Mine starts humming when brightness goes under 95%
@Joost026 HI there, glad you are happy with your monitor. I no longer have mine anymore as needed the space. To get the best results from mine i used the mac screen calibration, under display settings, follow the instructions and you get a really nice result. I had my brightness on auto i think and i don't remember a humming, Sorry for not being much help. All the best. Tom
Hi Joost, I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW. I also notice a humming noise when I tune down the brightness to below 80%, and the pitch of the noise changes as the brightness changes. Is this problem generic to SyncMaster models?
yeah, and back when i got this, it cost me a good £20! It was a MDP (mini display port) to standard everyday VGA. Handy cable to have when you own one of those, came in useful at college to play games on the projectors. :)
Same here. Bought it because of high resolution and pixel density. Other than that, it was a rather cheap monitor with no DVI input. Perfect match for me as I don't have DVI on my notebook anyway. Image quality is fine for what I do and actually quite sharp.
No, I meant DVI. There are two versions of this monitor, 2343NW and 2343BW. The only difference is that BW has VGA and DVI whereas NW only has VGA. None of them has any other inputs like HDMI.
Will this be better or worse than my Samsung Syncmaster P2370. It's an 23" 50000:1 Contrast Ratio 1080p monitor. Want to change it because it hurts my eyes! :O
It's so nice Tom. What's the native resolution of that monitor? You must've gained good screen real estate. lol Now you can do multiple tasks at the same time without minimizing the windows. And btw, what happened to your Final Cut? iMovie must be like Windows Movie Maker...it sucks.
The native resolution is 2048 x 1152 :) massive lol! Well massive for me, as im used to the 1440 x 900 that the mac has already. Imovie is supposed to be awesome, and in theory much better than movie maker, but there are things that it wont let me do that movie maker would, and it seems to crash lots with me. :)
I've been wanting a new monitor because mine is, to be frank, shit. I fancy something glossy, like and HP display. It's so annoying Apple have stopped making displays for my generation (makes me sound so old!) of MacBooks. Apart from the 30" which is just a little too dear for my around £200 budget :)
Do you still remember the name of that song ?
Quite like it

It might not be better. PC monitors usually got sharper image than a TV.

and the contrast is 1000:1 not 20000 thats with something special
pirtea 2 years ago
is has a dynamic contrast, where the monitor can consistently adjust itself giving a 20000 contrast ratio.

big rezolution for a 23" monitor
pirtea 2 years ago
do you not believe me :) That is the reason that i bought it, the massive space i have to play around. It has a higher rez than 1080p :)
