  • frikkin hippiz..u suck azz

  • it looks horrible when white people do it

  • THIS by all means is THERAPUTIC. There is no doubt abbout that..

  • i love white peoples

  • @boredcrab2 umm....what does race have to do with peoples ability to make art and music? i dont get what you are saying.

  • I would like to try this chant next year. I did not know that the HBGB does the Ramaysna Monkey Chant? But, I did not even know what it is until now.

I will try to remember the check my schedule book next year.

  • I did this at burning man and it was without doubt the most amazing thing I did there and hence one of the most amazing things I have ever done.

Try it, and try to ingore the powerful feeling in the room, tent, jungle, wherever.

Aditionally, anyone who might it is lame to try new experiences, connect with people in different ways, eat weird foods, see new places or dance like a fool, is condemned to a very dull existence. If it is out there, find it.

  • First, it isn't destroying it to explore a new genre. Second, thinking that "white people" just appeared and have no primitive roots is asinine. Pleistocene age humans were just as primitive as any other you can think of. Your comments show why people wanting to enjoy creativity and expand their life experience have to go to gatherings like this to do so without your narrow-minded and ignorant judgments. Carry on Burners!

  • @Cryo837 try it before you knock it

  • @Cryo837 you speak the truth

  • Moron, it was a german guy who invented this fucking ritual in Bali.

  • wow that looked fun

  • I am gonna touch wallahzaman, maybe he will turn to kaka =)

  • will there be monkey chant at 2010? def wanna try it out

  • Agreed! There better be!

  • lol can't wait for next year

  • I want to be there!

  • I swear on someone dear's grave that I will attend burning man, when the timing and finances are right, by myself (so no one I know will see me misbehave), and make a complete ass-monkey out of myself with a bunch of people who are thinking the same thing. This honestly seems very theraputic.

  • You'll put it off forever. Just decide to go, and don't let anything stop you.

  • Yeah, I'm thinking about doing it someday. I'm just gonna do whatever the fuck I want and not give a damn in the world haha. Pee into my mouth, dance around naked, do cartwheels. Who knows haha. Just a one time thing before I have to go back to reality again and live a normal life.

  • They say when you enter Burning Man, you have come HOME. Outside of burning man, you're in the default world. COME HOME SOON, GUYS!

  • @ryannen I hope I see you there!!

  • cak cak cak

  • That looks really stupid. Why would you take a Balinese religious ritual and turn it to macarena dance!!! It's fact that anything that white people touch, for sure will turn it to kaka.

  • Oh, and I suppose you personally find this religiously significant?

For your information, it was written for tourism purposes. Look it up.

  • Kecak has roots in old balinese trance dance. In early 20th century some german artist liked what he saw and recreate it into a drama for tourists (mostly Europeans). In conclusion it balinese ritual that turned to savage natives circus to entertain the civilized whites. You need to do more research.

  • @wallahzaman: if it wasn't for the German artist, you would never have known about Kecak, since the original ritual is off limits for non-Balinese. Look, that's the problem with you purists. You create a conflict where there is none. The Balinese like the Monkey Chant, they appreciate if we follow their example and enjoy the great energy of Kecak, and at the same they preserved their sacred version of the ritual. It's their job to protect their tradition not yours. For me, Kecak is joy.

  • Was the leader Grady Cousins? He came to my school and showed us this chant. It was the best day I had at my school.

  • Yep, that was Grady. I met him last week, he did a short Kecak session with us and also told us about Burning Man. We kept making funny noises and cak cak for hours after the event, couldn't stop it, I rarely felt so alive.

  • yay, i'm so glad someone finally replied... isn't he amazing? and it so true about feeling more alive than you ever have been... i'd love to be a part of one of his kecak sessions again

  • wow isnt it amazing how something that looks so simple and sounds so intricate can have such a great effect on us!, absolutely fantastic!, i was sitting nodding my head and tapping my foot etc just from watching this on my computer

anyone in north east england want to get together and do this sometime?, please drop me a line, love, ecopunk!

  • Is this all based on the scene in Baraka?

  • i guess

  • What an awesome way to move and groove with people. I was there! Make sure to check out Gamelon X on tribe

  • Awesome. I enjoyed this very much!

  • I missed this when I was there! This is really awesome. Thanks for posting!

  • hard to watch. much rather be there. camera steal all the energy away.

  • HeeBeeGeeBee camp was too much....the reiki massage I got was something else

  • It always makes me laugh to see/hear people judge Burning Man without ever having gone themselves. How can you even have an educated opinion?

BTW - it would have been a cool video had it not been 'against the code' to film these Burners without their consent.

  • Would you have said the same thing if you had seen the local people doing this while traveling in Indonesia? It's a traditional spiritual participatory event there, and calling it idiotic would be highly insulting to them. But then, you probably wouldn't dare say that to their faces, would you? So easy to hide behind a keyboard making rude comments.

  • It is apparent that you know nothing about healing techniques ...

You cannot judge something you know nothing about.

  • oh the fun crazy times!

  • Please make sure to ask before filming.

    (otherwise good video though)

  • so cool wish i was there

  • wouldn't you rather spend your money and vacation time going to a foreign country and exploring the real world?

  • There is nothing more real than burning man. Thanks for a great video!!

  • funny that..... Burningman is full of people from foreign countrys.

  • yes, exploring the 'real' world and other countries is something everyone should do.... and one of those vacations should be burning man, my friend... it will blow you away. Burning Man is a world on itself for a week.....

  • I've done both extensively. Burning Man is a wonderful experience. In fact, many people from around the world decide to use their money and vacation time to attend it.

  • thank u! put it in my fav bm playlist!
