  • I gotta say this saved me aa whole lot of time, I had just finished spray painting the shell of my super nintendo and i'm using this to reassmble my snes.

  • Treasurefan02,

I must thank you for making these disassembling SNES videos. I had an SNES growing up and it got "yellowed" over the years. With your video, I followed everything you said and was able to swap out with a new Grey casing. Now the SNES that I grew up with looks new again! You were a big help! Thanks again!!! :)

  • Hello Danny4842,

Awesome! Happy to help out my fellow gamers =)

  • sweet bro,i took apart my snes completely today and washed the shizz out of it in preparation to give it a custom paint job but when it came time to reassemble the thing i forgot how the spring on the cartridge door was arranged. i must've spent an hour messing with it until i went back and re watched this vid. thanx alot

  • Hello beaver10777,

Happy to help! Do you have a pic/video of the new paint job?

  • @Treasurefan02 i'll send u a pic soon. i bought a spray can that was too small and only managed to complete the top half but later on today i'll be going back to my local hobby store to restock up on my paints. i plan on doing a custom N64 if ppl think the SNES came out good but judging by the response i'm getting from the top half alone so far,it looks like it'll be a future project for sure...lol

  • can we get a link or a phone number to where we get that tool

  • Thank you for posting this video!! I am going to try and take my new super nintendo apart and replace the beat up case with a nice clean one. Also im still looking for a new case, so where do you recomend i go to get one without the insides?

  • Hello pizzarocks2009,

You can try ebay and look up broken snes systems (usually those systems that are sold as broken have issues with the mobo, or other tech issues). You can also hit up your local garage/yard sales and flea markets to find a cheap one. Once you make the transfer, you can sell the other system for a (possible) profit.

  • @Treasurefan02 Thanks alot!! ill do that !!

  • Hello pizzarocks2009,

    Happy to help =D

  • Your garden scissors are tin snips.

  • Hello dancinplayboy,

Thank you for the heads-up! =)

  • @Treasurefan02 np dude. very informative video. Really appreciated your step by step!

  • Hello dancinplayboy,

    Thank you ^_^

Glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. I plan on doing a future video that shows how to custom mod an arcade stick.

  • I have a light band that goes down the middle of my screen when I play my SNES. Its not really bad or anything but i really want to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

  • hmm, have you tried different AV cords? You can also check out the motherboard to see if there is anything amiss (blown capacitors for example). You can also try cleaning out the cartidrige slot (using lukemorse's card trick that involves wrapping a piece of cloth around the end of a credit sized card and dipping one end into rubbing alcohol). Alecjahn and Lukemorse1 are two youtubers that will know much more on the matter though. Check em out, both are really cool dude.

    Hope this helps =)

  • i just made a tool that does the exact same thing out of a horseshoe nail a melted pen tape and hot glue

  • I must say your system is perfect looking

  • Thank you =D

  • I never seen a video on how to take apart a SNES before. Awesome vid and congrats on 100+ subs. :D

  • I was surprised myself at the lack of snes disassembly vids.

Thank you for the compliment =)

  • Very informative video, and again congrats on the 100 subs !

Oh, so now your going to start talking ? (that was suppose to be a secret) Just joking, and also that is one ridiculously big file !

    Cool vid !

  • lol, that file was the only one that I could find in the shack =S

  • Congrats on getting over 100 subs! I'm sure there will be many more to come. Nice tutorial. I'm sure people will find it useful.

  • Thank you Merlin196 ^_^

  • Congratulations on reaching the century mark. :)

  • Thank you ^_^

  • yea i knew something was different, you talk LOL

  • rofl.

I didn't want to do this with annotations, since they would be on most of the time, lol.

  • Most excellent little tut!

  • Thank you ^_^

That means a lot coming from the master (...of the universe? ;-)

The main sections that confused me were removing the eject lever, Audio Processing Unit, and the controller ribbon. I didn't want to break the system, so I was wary when removing these parts. Hence why I wanted to make this video to help others that may also be reluctant to pull and yank on components like the ones listed above.

  • yey he talks! Very informative video mate.

  • lol =)

    Thank you ^_^

  • oi?!

    when did you start taking??
