The major hurdle that the dream Act will need to overcome is Democratic politics. The Dream Act is targeted at the age group that will be Voting in 2012. Why else would the demographic group of "kids" from 16 to 30 years of age. Do not believe for an instant that a green card holder is not entitled to vote in the vast majority of municipallities. Which political party are we to assume would benefit from the 6 million new voters in 2012? Democrats killed the Dream Act. Remember that.

passing the dream act as it is crrently written would be a tragedy. No one can deny sympathy for good students that came here illegally with their parents. The problem lies in the massive fraud that will take place if the act passes as those legislators that crafted it left out ALL attempts at strict verification, so only the deserving and eligible will get rewarded. We now have a bill that will allow anyone to merely CLAIM they are eligible to be accepted, same as in the 1986 Amnesty.
