You don’t get appointed Commanders in the Order of the British Empire, one step below knighthood, for much less than that. They reinvented themselves so often, even in tragedy, so successfully. Bee Gees deserve every accolade they get.
A way to reconise playpack performancse is just paying attention to singers and instrumentalists' performances. When they actually play live, they just play and do not act so much, but when they playback they pretty much all have the tendency to 'over act'. ..
Things like
- Moving just a little bit too much,
- swinging just a little too much,
- pronouncing words with their lips just a little too much,
- showing how they are enjoying their performance a little too much

I have the impression this song was not live. My dad has this concert on DVD, and some songs seem not to be live, while it seems most are. Not totally sure though

It was not about who got what opportunity it was about a group effort and they melded together. They shared what they did and rarely quibbled about who was lead..ect.

That's not his orginal voice ! He's voice is darker ! By the way, Maurice was an very very important part of the Bee Gees. When Barry & Robin sings together they are Barry & Robin. I've never understood all the picking them apart, as to who did what or who was best...all you have to do is listen to any two of them live without the 3rd and realize the BeeGees impeccable sound is only when all three sing. And who cares if they record a song then lip sync or sing live with it..it's their voice! I love Maurice's voice as well as both Barry and Robin..each is incredibly gifted.

@annettelane Maurice actually *is* lip syncing here, to his own lead vocal track from the Still Waters album. They actually used a lot of pre-recorded backing vocals at these concerts, in place of the backing singers they used to take on tour.
GOODY61 as much as it pains me i have to agree with your take on the lip synching. i love these guys and their music in my mind is the best hands down but in this case as with just a few others recordings of the boys singing, the singing was not live. their entertainment value is 110% and if you close your eyes and just listen...all is well.

Great music. This is my favorite song off the Still Waters album. LOVE Maurice's voice. Miss him a lot. Though it can't compare to how much his family does I'm sure.

That's not his orginal voice ! He's voice is darker ! By the way, Maurice was an very very important part of the Bee Gees. When Barry & Robin sings together they are Barry & Robin. With Mo's special voice they became the Bee Gees ! So, It's really sad that we can never hear the real Bee Gees with all their magic singing together ! Sorry for my bad english !

it's nice to see Mo up front and center! voice/recorded enhanced, lip-sinc'd, live, it really didn't matter. together they still sound wonderful. RIP Mo. you're missed XXX

I've never understood all the picking them apart, as to who did what or who was best...all you have to do is listen to any two of them live without the 3rd and realize the BeeGees impeccable sound is only when all three sing. And who cares if they record a song then lip sync or sing live with it..it's their voice! I love Maurice's voice as well as both Barry and Robin..each is incredibly gifted.

A great band with a wide variation of music to their credit, a family who have been struck with tragedy and who let you know how they feel in their music.

@normanargo Yes, that is right, and you are a very good listener, they were been through so much of tragedy, their songs are full of compassions in it, and that can brings me to tears, I missed Maurice so much in this song.

Not only did Barry cite Maurice as knowing harmonies but he also called him the "Glue" that held the Bee Gees Together. Barry and Robin never got along well. Now with Maurice gone its apparent since they havent been seen together much. Hopefully we will see another Bee Gees CD sooner than later.

@annettelane Maurice actually *is* lip syncing here, to his own lead vocal track from the Still Waters album. They actually used a lot of pre-recorded backing vocals at these concerts, in place of the backing singers they used to take on tour.

GOODY61 as much as it pains me i have to agree with your take on the lip synching. i love these guys and their music in my mind is the best hands down but in this case as with just a few others recordings of the boys singing, the singing was not live. their entertainment value is 110% and if you close your eyes and just listen...all is well.
