I agree that the USA has a serious lack of variety and agenda in their candidates but that is not to say that democracy is non-existant. In Canada we have like 20 parties to choose for during an election. The real problem with a democracy is most people vote as a group in ignorance. Not enough people actually even know what each party represents. They should have a small basic "do you know your info" quiz you write when you vote and if you fail the quiz your vote is disscounted.
