I don't think he's a nazi. I think the joke is ironic: populations forget political history; they're living in a police state (which disseminates historical knowledge) and have forgotten that the swastika represented a police state. We live in an era where statesmen effectively re-write the history of the USofA to suit there own ambitions.
Woody's jabs at intellectuals are really multi-layerd: the intellectuals understand the sub-joke and the non-intellectuals just get the joke. But, everyon
6:55 how prophetic...this movie takes place in 2073,,, when I saw this in the 70's i would not have thought it would've been only 40 years in the future.
I bet they all had "universal health control" too. ooops i mean "care"...in this movie...
and I find the blue food amusing too,......i bet the great leader didn't have to eat the blue stuff. this movie is still funny, only because when it was made no sane American would've thought a police state in America could ever happen - a friggin shame!
@11weinstein Hardly, this movie was funny BECAUSE there was so much distopic fearmongering. Brave New World, Farenheit 451 and 1984 were written and adapted into film way before this, and coincidentally, Soylent Green came out the same year.
"You're living in a police state, your government is evil" - I thought I recognised this future as my present until he said that. Surely our governments aren't evil?
@mamasaid0 I think one day they will have robots who can give sexual pleasure to both males and females without the possibility of contracting an STD or HIV.
@robbiesyohn they are working on it. You can already make any kind of bot you want on a site like pandorabots. There are robots that" feel" now to, and robots with some emotions

For all Woody fans you must check out Jerry Rio!!!
at (Mr JerryRio) and the (Thyrdeye) channel. He reminds a lot of comedy lovers of a Woody Allen or Larry David type character and he is hilarious!
His interviews and "Man On The Street" segments are some of best comedy you will see online anywhere!
