I never quite got the appeal of these guys. That overly forced baritone gets a little redundant after awhile.Sounds like he's in between a burp and a yawn. I prefer Sully or Peter Murphy for a nice bass/baritone voice.

Proof it's not live is the complete lack of cables from the keyboard and the fact that it's not even turned on(see 2:14-2:17 you would see that display lit up).... This is always the dead give-away. Whenever bands appear on shows like this for one or two songs, especially when other bands are on the same show, the songs are NEVER live. Way too much setup, sound checking etc. Really not feasible in this format.

Great song by a very underrated band.... but why oh why did they mime. Seriously, it really annoys me to see musicians mime. There's no talent in that and it completely misses the point of what a live performance is supposed to be (clue in the name!). It was all too common on TOTP (in fact, I think they had a miming policy for years) so I really don't miss that show, not that a majority of the music on it catered to my tastes anyway.

As a live musician myself I can tell you that rock musicians feed off of the energy of the crowd and that energy can actually help to evoke some of the most emotional and memorable live performances that the band will ever have. Dead quiet crowds make for sterile rock music. Bands perform on Letterman and Leno for exposure not because they like quiet
