  • I wonder if the director had seen The Exorcist...

  • I own this movie, I love Piper Laurie.

  • "Christened in blood, raised in sin, she’s sweet 16, let the party begin."

I'd just love to see a film today try to use a cut line like this!

  • I cant find this damn movie anywhere

  • @Prizm2356 I could post it if you'd like. It's not that good but it does have Piper Laurie.

  • @MCampbell13 Oh yes please post it

  • @sukhumvit76 i love ppl like u <3 xD xD xD

  • RUBY IS GROOVY

  • Dang, I never get a love affair with the super natural. I mean, where are all these succubus ghosts at when you need one?

  • ahahahha lolololol

  • Berlusconi's worst nightmare

  • @Sterlin0 grande volevo dirlo pure io

  • my bother was dating the ticket girl at our local theater...so got to see this in a double feature with "They came from within"....wow....i got to see a horror flick with TITTIES!!!!!!

  • looks they are ripping off the exorcist movie lol

  • I was a kid when I watched this at a drive-in as a double bill with Audrey Rose.

  • How can Piper Laurie be "terrifying" when she is the victim in this movie. Well not exactly - In the movie she did set her boyfriend up 16 years earlier to be murdered.

  • I remember seeing this on cable in the late 70s. This flick actually had a real sense of style to it, and a few moments of unintentional humor. Like when the coke machine dispenser pours human blood into a cup, and the girl takes a sip and does not react. Piper Laurie made this movie even better!

  • How can u hav a love affair with the super nature? Someone please tell me because I am stumped! lol

  • The things you can find on the Internet! Dad used to take us to all of these cheap-o drive in horror films! No wonder I'm so deranged these days!

  • this was a typical movie of the 70s, no theme, poor script, bad acting. you end up scratching your head and your ass(after sitting through this shit) after watching and wondering "what the hell did i just watch"!! i dont know why theydid movies like this back in the day. it was a waste of a 2 dollars back then, which was alot.

  • @mystrol3 im gonna have to give ya the big negatory there, chico. the movie just wasn't made for the likes of you. it was a real grimy nasty cheap little movie... and also kinda sleazy, i'll give you that but thats kinda what you want from some horror movies. this was a movie made for people lookin for some sordid fare, and if you weren't, that just means it wasn't for you.

  • Nothing will ever be a patch on The Exorcist!

  • Ruby, is about a gay demond that makes you shit yourself but in reverse.

  • A nice lil Hidden gem. Got a good story, crazy death scenes, Piper Laurie, and all kinds of craziness! PEEP IT!

  • A horror movie based on Camel Pose?

  • I watched this the other day. It was pretty good but the ending was silly. Hint Skeleton rape.

  • seems like a good movie

  • Lol I miss 70s horror movie trailers...they were so dramatic...they should do it that way again today...

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Biggest Exorcist rip-off...

  • So there is a girl called Ruby having a love affair. I just expect this film to be set in Italy.

  • Comment removed

  • :24 that's how I get when I have an orgasm too..

  • "Something is here!.. It's strong..." Yes, it take a strong entity to kill grannies.

  • I saw Janet Baldwin a lot at one time. I love Piper. She was so beautiful in this film. She is a great actress. I crack up always at all these 70s trailers. They are classic and hilarious now; these movies scared me as a kid when they were first out. hehe It was cool to see ole Stuart Whitman again. Love when he gets blown out of that box office.

  • I think I remember this movie, at the end the girl walks off and the demon says through her, "Now she is mine.".

  • Is it just me or does Janet Baldwin look like Paul McCartney's sister

  • This movie stinks,it's Carrie meets The Exorcist ..

  • i knew that about carrie and her mother i never heard about movie ruby.

  • i knew that she was carrie's mother.i never heard abiut this one or i forgot iot.

  • funny as hell' "this woman is having an affair with the supernatural" old man gets tossed out of wheelchair, guy hangs on to a string, woman does regular yoga moves in bed. comic gold right there,

  • Never heard of this one...or I don't remember it. Funny - the trailer even names the movies it copies: Exorcist, Omen, Carrie.

Look at some of the flicks (trailers) like it →

I saw some of 'em - Children ... (CSPWDT) was great!

  • i recognize the actres that plays ruby's mother from somewhwere but do not know from what? carries mother? margaret white? i love carrie and margaaret .

  • @MyLalinea Ruby is played by Piper Laurie, who played Carrie's mother.

  • Boy, you'd never guess Janet Baldwin would be such a big star.

  • Roger Davis!! He played one of Vicky WInters' love interests on the 1966 Dark Shadows TV series. Funny how some of these actors\actresses wound up doing these little moviesa after their big time giggs.

  • OMG!!! I wanna see this.

  • @Ocean71fvr It's been posted!!!!Just type " Ruby (1977) part 1" in the search link.I think it is in 10 or more parts. The poster has a bunch more like these.Great stuff to watch on a lazy day!!!

  • @Midnighthour71 Thank you soooooo much!! I've been wanting to see this for a long time.

  • @Ocean71fvr Anytime!!!!

  • Que filme estranho deu medo até kkk

  • Movies like this end peoples careers. It's like doing The Love Boat or Murder She Wrote. Both elephant burial shows. It's where everyones careers go to die.

  • wonder if netflix has this on :0

  • Why do demons always bend women backwards?

  • Thats what I want to know...

  • 1:44--"Leslie is a natural medium."

Tom Servo: She's only a large at certain times of the month..

  • How is it that the people who made "Beyond The Door" were sued for knocking off the Exorcist, but these guys got away... when the similarities are even MORE noticeable!

  • I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid!! It scared the crap out of me.

  • btw to whomever already saw this movie is 1:27 somebody's head or sth? seriously what is it?

  • wow this is so much like the exorcist they had to mention it to cite it.

  • love that.

  • Janet Baldwin is hot....but I'm not sure about her voice! :D

  • Star light Drive Inn,Fresno Calif i was 10years old ,this movie wasn t all that , i just remember holes all over this girls face ...Piper Laurie the Mother from Carrie "thier all gonna laugh at you " any ways thosse where the good old days .....

  • Ruby looks like she's being raped by the Skeleton at the end!

  • never seen this,, but Piper L,, is the same actress that played the mother of Carrie in Steven kings movie Carrie,,, i love her shes such a great actress*)

  • the funny part of this movie when ruby s daugther talling her a liar

  • "She's sweet sixteen, let the part began." hahaha

  • I like how they proclaimed "First there was The Exorcist, then The Omen and Carrie. Now comes Ruby! Did they think it was going to be a classic remembered years after its release. Well, three out of the four films did just that (not so fast there Ruby!).

  • wtf is this xD

  • @msluckygirl57 word

  • but terror is not?

  • creepy!!!!

  • "This woman is having a love affair with the supernatural". Lucky cow!

  • LOL how fake

  • awesome film when (first viewed when i was approx 10 years old. )

    doesnt seem so scary now

  • Three words: MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER!

  • For a beginning, Ruby, this movie is kind yet of another genre, although it's considered horror.. In my opinion, exorcisms are not so scary after all, at least if you see it on the screen.. In reality I've never experienced, but I've seen The Exorcist, all four parts and it didn't scare me at least a bit.. It's completely predictable of how the events will take place..

  • Awesome trailer...OMG! Very scary...I need to see this, not alone though...I need my girlfriend to hold on to. LOL

  • wat the fuck is this this some fuckin exorcist shit man I ain't bout to see that hell the fuck naw I ain't bout to have no dream about the the fuckin devil possessing and torturing me hell the fuck naw

  • I still have a drive in in the next town over too bad they don't show old horror movies like this it would be cool that every friday in the summer they would show old horror, slasher splatter etc...Films I live for this stuff the newer movies does not have that feel that the older movies do...I hope they bring that style back take out the cgi because sometimes that does not work in horror films... Awesome trailer looks good would like to see it! =)

  • That guy in the wheel chair didn't appear to be very strong to me. It must have been Mr. Lebowski.

  • When I was 14, this movie was my life. i used to dress up as Leslie like everyday and get my mom to dress up as Ruby!! we even tried to like remake it once. I used to go on about it non stop and drive everyone crazy sitting in front of the tv glued to the screen lol.. I'm 17 now and watching this trailer again brought so many happy memories.. even though it was only 3 years ago. i feel weird..

  • awesome! ive never seen this movie but it looks awesome!! janit baldwin sort of looks like she could be a michael baldwin's (from phantasm) sister. i have this trailer on the satan's cheerleaders dvd :)

  • she really does tho and Michael Baldwin did an excellent job in Phantasm

  • I saw this at Capitol Drive-in in San Jose, California. It was the first of a double bill. "Exorcist II: The Heretic" played after it.

  • Awesome. I'm from the bay area too. I miss the drive-ins.

  • @sideshowcarny Gotta love CAPITOL DRIVE IN! Remember the kid in the lil firetruck during intermission commercials and WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE...Keeeeeep buiiiilding. I saw RUBY with HILLS HAVE EYES in some theatre in downtown SAN JOSE. Saw BUG-SQUIRM-SHIVERS(a.k.a. they came from within) triple bill at Capitol though.

  • I believe this was released in time to capitalize on Piper Laurie's suporting actress oscar nomination for Carrie.

I remember some drive-ins actually putting them together in a double feature. I was living in Houston,Tx at the time.

  • i'm Diggin the scene at :47 lol pretty much the only interesting or entertaining part of this movie by the looks of it. Looks Kinda like the exorcism plot

  • I remember seeing 8 seconds of the ad for Ruby on tv back in '78 before it switched to something else.

  • That Looks Like A Huge Disappointment. 8P

  • you need to put the whole movie on youtube

  • you need to get the whole movie

  • One old -ass looking 16 year old Ruby. The Devil puts miliage on nasty hoes real fast.

  • Introduction to a different world.. i like the style. i also made my own video to share with the world:

    Threat for destruction horror

  • Ruby isnt that bad of a movie.

As far as Exorcist ripoffs go, It's still far better then "Abby" and "Nurse Sherri".

  • she's 16 in this film?

  • Is that Dick Seargant...the second Darrin on Bewitched? lol

  • No its Roger Davis.

  • that woman scared me as carries mother . But this film does look a lil creepy i might have to check it out.

  • This is a mess of a movie!..ripps off too many other good films..it's was a major bomb!.

  • I like the Gilligan's Island lightning bolt.

  • haha

  • Remember Exorcist, The Omen and Carrie? Yeah, we took parts from all of those classics to make this clunker. Enjoy!

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

  • Baby, im-a want you

    Baby, im-a need you

You the only one I care enough to hurt about

    Maybe im-a crazy

But I just cant live without...

    Your lovin and affection

    Givin me direction

Like a guiding light to help me through a darkest hour

    Lately Im a-prayin

That youll always be a-stayin beside me

  • She did an amazing job playing Carrie's mother.

  • i saw this film as a child,no wonder i'm so fucked up in the head!!!!!!!!!!!!

    MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,

    MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Piper Laurie is EXCELLENT!! Did you see her in "Twin Peaks"?

  • this movie suckdiddlieucks

  • Hahaha.. ahhhh baby how i want you. hahhahhaha i couldnt stop laughing..

  • Okay does anyone else know or?

  • Just a question .When the girl in bed is bending her back .. What is she doing? q:

  • I don't know and I don't wanna know. I think that the plot of the film was that she was a portal for Satan to come to Earth. But of coarse that's just a guess.

  • shes doing the spider walk

  • Sorry, but is the Spider Walk? xD

  • whats xD SUPPOSE TO MEAN

  • that she is walking like a spider? Maybe? xD I'm not sure.. xD

  • So this is whar happened to Piper's carreer. Ha-ha.

  • What do you mean? d:

  • Well, have you seen much of Piper lately? The last I saw of her was on an episode of 'Frasier' about seven years ago or so. It's a shame too, she was really good in 'Carrie.'

  • yes she was very good in Carrie..! Was Ruby Really that bad? I have never seen it.. (:

  • Actually I never saw 'Ruby.' first time I heard of it was on this YouTube trailer. So maybe I'm not the best p\erson to ask. I'm just saying that she might have been good in the movie, but judging by this trailer, it was a stupid film. And the voice-over guy has the nerve to call it better than 'The Exocist,' 'The Omen,' or 'Carrie.;

  • Oooh Okay.. q:

  • Yeah, it was that bad.

  • Hehe Okay.. d:

  • This is a cheesy trailer, even by 1977 standards.

  • I had heard about this when it was in theaters and figured it was probably really scary or gory. When I finally saw it I laughed through the whole thing. The creepiest is the skeleton underwater. But the rest is just an embarrassment for Piper Laurie who had just been nominated for an Oscar for Carrie. Interesting trivia: The girl who plays the possessed daughter costarred with Linda Blair in the TV movie Born Innocent in 1974. Maybe Linda gave her some pointers.

  • Janit Baldwin(Leslie)was also in "Phantom Of The Paradise"(1974)

  • I Know Right I Can't Find It Anywhere

  • This movie is almost impossible to find. Not even Netflix carries it.

  • You can tell that Jaws and The Exorcist was the best horror films of the 70's by the amount of rip offs the two had

  • Action! Romance! Danger! Stewart Whitman! All this and more... in Ruby!

  • C R A P !

  • I remember seeing previews for this on TV when it first came out. I was about 12 then. The image of her wrestling with the skeleton really stuck in my mind then. But I knew there was no way my mother was ever going to take me to see this movie.

I guess it's just as well she didn't...

  • The preview makes it look interesting, but I don't remember it being all that good.

    I love the narrator's voice.

  • a mixture of the excorist and carrie

  • RIP OFF CARRIE AND THE EXORCIST BOOOOO

  • Looks like they ripped off a bit of The Exorcist, too.

  • oh my god..İ want to watch it !!

  • Is that the mother from carrie if you do that movie called ruby

'There all going to laugh at you'

    '

  • 0.40 "Christened in blood, raised in sin. She's sweet sixteen, let the party begin!" LMAO!!!!

  • Isn't that the dude who killed Harvey Oswald or whatever.

  • Piper was great in "Carrie". I didn't dig this trailer. This film doesn't look 2 good at all.

  • It wasn't. It sucked.

  • wtf? did anyone esle see that at 0:57

when that old lady fell it was a man in a suit under an old lady costume lol look closely at the end when "she" falls

  • Yeah you're right

  • That's hilarious!

  • thats awesome cuz they mashed carrie and the exorcist together.

  • oh my god, this film scared the shit out of me about 8 years ago :>

  • Roger Davis was in Dark Shadows, he was so annoying ...

  • wasn't he also married to jackie smith of charlie angels fame?

  • He was also the second Hannibal Hayes in "Alias Smith and Jones".

  • horror films where so popular back then

    i wonder why?

  • stupid ones yeah

  • Horror films have been popular since the dawn of cinema. To enjoy being scared/thrilled is just part of human nature IMO.

As for "stupid" horror films being made in the 1970s, that is certainly true. It is also true some of the best and most influential horror films were also made in the 70s. The Exorcist, Jaws, Alien, Suspiria, Dawn of the Dead, etc.

  • @sideshowcarny lots of great films/great horror films were made during the golden age of modern horror from night of the living dead through halloween/dawn of the dead 10 years later.

  • fucking cool looking trailer all vintage and crazy

  • Theyr'e gonna laugh at you!

  • The Excorsist:-Sendup!...roflmao!

  • said it once and ill say it again the old horrors are the best

  • "This woman is having a love affair... with the supernatural"

    best quote of the trailer

  • i was sold after that one.

  • Lol I always find horror movies hilarious. They are so ridiculous.

  • whaaa ..?

  • 0:54 best part!!

  • Ooo, scary, scary skeleton at the end.

it looked like something from a high-school fun house

  • all this movie is is a composite of Rosemary's baby, the exorcist, the omen, and pretty much every other scary movie.

  • Rosemary's Baby was kinda the catalyst for the great 70's horrors because it was so well received.

Piper Laurie is pretty much just playing Carrie's mom again in this one isn't she?

  • :24 - wow, can you say Exocist ripoff

  • I have this on vhs & its poor & cut, yes cut the color is faded. But the vhs version is extended with more xtra scenes.I have it on dvd as well & its excellent & its the original theatre version. The vhs version is pg rated or should i say g rated. Because it was one of the first horror films to hit vhs back n the day, the director had the vhs people cut out the r rated scenes & then they had to add xtra scenes for regular net work tv.

  • "christened in blood, raised in sin, sweet sixteen, let the party begin!" creepy!!

  • this was the very first horror film I ever saw. I was FOUR or FIVE!!! i clearly remember my grandmother being shocked at how i insisted i wanted to watch it through to the end. i am dying to see it again!

  • saw this and "the redeemer" on a drive inn double bill in fall of 77

  • I guess Possesion movies were like crappy dance movies are now. then again i haven't seen this yet so i can't say much

  • Yep. After The Exorcist went through the roof and caused one of the biggest commotions in cinematic history (lots of outrage and protests by religious groups) a slew of knock offs came out for a couple years afterward. I was too big a wussy to watch it.

  • I had my doubts about this movie too. But i finally got it and watched it the other night. NOT scary and definetly not in the league with Carrie or The Exorcist, but fun to watch anyway! kinda campy but a really good, low budget movie. If you appreciate a good old style movie then i would watch it.

  • does anyone know where i can find the trailer for the 1971 film called ruby?
