On Christmas day, the transit fare was reduced to a one zone payment, even if you were traveling three. I saw the skytrain police bully an elderly person, because they only had a one zone ticket. When I asked them about this, they told me to mind my own business. Another time I saw three of them surround a kid and bully him and repeatedly and obsessively asking him his age when he was obviously just some kid. It was like they were crazy.

If you didn't pay the fare you deserve to get tasered, however that is my personal opinion. The fact is that these 10 times the SCBCTAPS (skytrain police) used the tasers in several years were on violent people or who were actively resisting arrest, they never tasered anyone just because they had not paid their fare.

They're not being used because someone is evading a fare, they are being used because the people the police were trying to arrest for not paying were fleeing and/or being non-compliant. "In Policy" use. Period.

The video refers to "Transit Police" and I need to know if these are real police (as in Police Services) or Transit Security Guards under the direction of the city/municipality. In Ontario, there is a huge difference in transit enforcement practices ranging from Special Constables (real police under police services) --and security guards (little to no oversight/accountability in place).

there is also a 'Transit security' run by the Coast Mountain Bus Company who also patrol the bus system and occasionally the skytrain
