Jim Rogers, told CNBC,

"I suspect that Merkel and that crowd are going to do something to make us feel better, remember the French have an election this year

and I think they would like to win the election, so I suspect you are going to see things coming out of governments for the euro."

and that markets will do well this year as governments around the world spend

and print a lot of money.

But he thinks that strategy is a "horrible mistake" and "we'll all pay for it down the road

Jim Rogers is right. Meny elections this year. And alot of money will be spent. It is a little scary.

These guys have been saying this crap for 3 years. But print baby print has been keeping the world economies floating. Soon we will be back with new records for housing starts. New sources of oil sands, the party is far from over. Energy will be abundant another 50 years the renewable energy movement will be held at bay while we continue to burn hydrocarbons and natural gas.Bulldozers will be leveling ,the construction will be fantastic ,world populations growing and consuming no end in sight.

What he's really saying is 2012 is the year of global deception and the msm are going to be complicit with more misinformation. Watch out for stories by the second quarter of economic recoveries. They'll (msm) state it's a slow return to growth but economy looking better. Meanwhile note private sector loses and growth for those business affiliated to government spending programs. Gold & Silver will show small gains by year end with set backs on the way. Agriculture rises and Iran/oil news

@CurtHowland Different sides of the same coin certainly - I was talking in regards to someone who perhaps has a 401k with funds that cannot be removed from the casino game they call the NYSE and do not want to partake of the counterparty risk associated with ETF metals ( MF Global ) or subject themselves to the future decoupling of the paper prices vs physical prices.
