  • hey man very interesting is the first time i see a solution with a 15sec procedure, some times the guilty is from the sender or anything else, but this car seems to be so damn electronic.,,,.Do the procedure you followed is from the car manual?

  • My low fuel light NEVER comes on even though I've run out of gas like 5 times with this car (98 SL1). DO you know why the light will not illuminate (and yes, there is a functioning bulb in there =P)?

  • @MrTumblrAddict Had the same problem on mine after doing this procedure low fuel light now comes on near the empty mark.

  • Tried this on my 2002 SL and ended up blowing the fuel pump fuse. :-( Is the procedure different for 3rd gens?

  • @kdulcimer I believe the gen 3 has the same wire colors as this gen 2

  • Would this apply to first gen Saturn? My gas gauge goes wacky once I get below half tank and it always goes on empty.

  • @stevethepokieman Yes you can try this on the gen 1

  • Ok so how do you correct if its reading too high which wire do you probe to correct that?

  • Thank you Rich, you have helped me to keep my 1996 Saturn SL2 running great these past few years.

  • Hi Rich, I gave a 95 Nissan 240sx manual my rpm needle does not work, if you know something please help me any advice. i will thank you.

  • You are the Saturn wizard!! I have a question on are 2000 sl2 twin cam. What is the idle supposed to be at cold start? Ours revs to 1800 than drops to 900 when hot. But I have noticed that in stop and go traffic it will idle at 900 than drop to 600 than go back to 900 or just stay at 600. Is this normal. No engine codes have shown. Thank you for your very informative videos!!!!

  • @jsherman385 Sounds pretty normal for a Saturn S-series with a automatic transmission to me.

  • Saturn S series ..do u work on mustangs?? my gas gauges is not reading

  • @joli78363 As of this time i have not.

  • so i tried this on my 97 and the guage went to empty and fuel light came on it didnt go to full am i doing something wrong? i didnt use a light tester i just used a wire..

  • @mik3mx09 You have to follow this procedure EXACTLY for it to work.

  • @richpin06a Does the car have to be level?

  • @mik3mx09 As long as the gauge is not over 3/4 your good.

  • I've had issues using a test light as a jumper/ground, maybe because of the resistance value. Have you ever heard of this?

  • Fascinating! I'm trying to figure out what that procedure did to the circuit to raise the fuel indicator's reading....but as they say, "I got nutten..." Explanation anyone?

    Always enjoy your videos!!

  • @rlewis1946 To much to list hear,it has to do with magnetic fields, anyone that wants the long version will have to send me there email address.

  • Great video. Thank you for all your Saturn S series videos. Do you have any regarding the sun roof for the SL2 2nd gen? That sun shade that slides back when you open the sun roof, always jams. When I close the sun roof, you have to manually slide this sun shade shut. So right before it shuts, it gets stuck. You have to force it shut by applying pressure. Something has broke causing the jam. Perhaps those small pieces with the spring???

  • @stingrayl88 I have never got a to work on the sunroofs so i have no knowledge of troubleshooting them.

  • @richpin06a I would like to request such a video, if at all possible.
