  • Muito bom !!!

  • Formula-1 in the skies!!!

How come he doesn’t mention the G-forces which makes this very psychically demanding!?!

  • @Michaelingolfhansen Because this video is all about the precision. See the title?

  • Star Fox IRL

  • by far the best motor sport ever made period

  • Lastima por el patrocinador.Esa bebida está calificada como de riesgo.Y no la vayas a querer mezclar con alcohol.Es adictiva

  • This made me realize nascar is just a joke now this is where it is at

  • anyone know how to get involved in this sport?? definitely something i can see myself doing

  • @jsk8drummer become a pilot. a really, really good one. lol

  • Will the RedBull Air Races be back in 2012?

  • 9 people are behind the plane.

  • genial simplemente genial

  • I fricken love this shit

  • those guys are just amazing....look how they try to make it look as if it was simple. they are very humble...nothing to compare with those arrogant young kids going on their first solo at most flying schools: airline pilot uniforms, rayban sunglasses, and top gun music in their earphone. they disgust me.

  • Why all the hate on nascar? Seriously, I can understand a few points like the left turns and shit, but it's not easy. Sure flying like this is 20x harder, but nascar races are with more than one driver, they're with 42 OTHER guys.

I enjoy watching both of them. And nascar doesn't get all of the credit seeing as how people troll it 24/7.

  • Nascar? Bleh!!!

  • Kan a use this film in a new film a worke hvit?

  • This sport is fucking awesome

  • Fuck everyone who uses the term "Mad props" Fucking cunts!

  • 9 person have flight fear!

  • thats really cool im getin my piolet lisence ... how do try out for air racing

  • Aint no bumpdrafting goin on here. These guys deserve every dollar they make.

  • could use some cheerleaders !!

  • how do they brake? hehehe!

  • Do they have some sort of safety devices (I don't know what it could be) if they pass out? or do they just really trust their skill in pulling those G's to not pass out.

  • @kingafterbang they don't have anything to help them, if they actually pass out.

if they pass out they will probably die.

  • This is the most badass thing I have ever seen. I just discovered it tonight. How can NASCAR be popular when this exists?

  • @waevans56 I agree man its ridiculous how popular NASCAR is here in the US while other countries have sports like this along with circuit racing and formula 1 racing, I just recently discovered this when i got the HD theater channel on my cable service, where has this been all my life? lol

  • I tried flying this on a simulator, can't do it, tried to understand how complicated this is, got lost in books. BEST SPORT EVER

  • best motorsport ever!

  • Most of them were Ex Fighter's Pilots.. well, high skilled racers!!

  • Fucking redneck NASCAR drivers. There sport looks like Childs play compared to this.

  • This puts motocross to shame

  • brings back memos from vietnam.....

  • Reminds me of the Shieder Trophy from the 20's-30's

  • Nascar gets all the credit, then you have sports like this. in nascar you aren't flying at over 250mph all the time at sea level, slamming 10 to 11G Turns, and loops which is painful and can be fatal while flying a complicated aircraft, with extremely responsive controls. you blow a tire in nascar, o well you lost a race, you lose a prop in Air Racing, you may lose your life. this SPORT! is extremely demanding Physically, and mentally. to do this sport you have to have balls and brains!

  • @angryace13 WOW! these guys are insane!! mad props

  • @snowboardslider Pun :3 "mad props"

  • @Kookas Laugh Out Loud! I'm a natural...you'd be mad if your prop(eler) stopped working...Good Bye!

  • @angryace13 people have reasons for preferring nascar. You just can accept that.

  • @windflasher0

people have reasons for preferring nascar... very true, and i do accept that, but what i am saying is it doesn't quite entertain me as much as this. the car may reach 200 on a straight away, then watch it turn... hit a straight away again, may reach 200, watch it turn again in the same direction, this repeats hundreds of times. Air racing is straight, up, down, left, right, at 150 250MPH sometimes reaching 11G between loops and turns not just straight, left, straight, left.

  • @angryace13 Dude; you blow a tire in Nascar, you die.

  • @lilruc

really? thats why i have seen entire race cars smash into each other so hard that they lose control almost go airborne, and when the car is done tumbling rolling, and smashing across the track, the driver still lives right? a blown tire can be something as extreme as losing control and spinning out, or as little as, it blows in the straight and the driver maintains control and has to go into the pits, i have seen plenty of Nascar.

  • @angryace13 yeah not like nascar lol

  • @angryace13 id like you to try nascar and see how long you last!!!! yea they may not hit 10gs but they last hours not mins. you blow a tire at 180mph and id like to see you keep the car under control. those cars can flip and hit a wall or be hit by another car that doesnt know they crashed and someone is dead. i guess you dont know who Dale Earnhardt SR is? he crashed into a wall and died. also how many people do you fly with? none!! there are 40+ other cars you have to battle with.

  • @s70driver2005

and yes... i know who Dale Earnhardt SR is! and do you know why he died, if i remember correctly he was not wearing a HANS device? something that could have saved him! also! id like to see you too go into a spin at 200-250MPH just above smashing into whatever is below you and tell me to keep control of a car with a blown tire at 180MPH, in addition you are much more likely to survive losing control of a stock car with a roll cage than a small piston airplane.

  • @angryace13 also on the "brains" aspect. i guess you dont know a thing about cars in general. there are a ton of things that can be changed about a nascar at each pit stop. like tire pressure, steering, suspension, downforce... i could go on and on. if the car doesnt handle well you lose the race. change it too much and it hurts. the driver needs to feel the car and know what should be changed in order for him to win. nascar is a big team and "brains" sport, you just need to see it!!

  • @s70driver2005

i dont know anything about cars? I am a certified Mechanic and have been going too school for almost a entire year! are you certified? you also need to feel the plane too, if the engine is not tuned right the aircraft will not function properly, if the trim is not set correctly "like a car alignment" the aircraft will not fly correctly, if the slightest thing is set wrong, even more so than a car, catastrophic results can accrue.

  • @angryace13 i was going to school for Mechanic training but then i got deployed for a 15 month long tour to Afghanistan. i was working on it but got a little held up!!! and yes i understand how dangerous flying those planes is but the way your comment reads you dont take ANY of the dangers that nascar drivers face. i know there are more dangerous forms of racing, like WRC, moto gp, and this but all im saying is that you seemed to disregard the danger they face. thats all im saying!

  • @s70driver2005

ooh trust me, i do not disregard the dangers they face, the dangers they face are very real! driving a automobile at over 100MPH on a technical course is never a safe profession, it takes skill and guts, and many safety precautions have to be followed. but to say it is more dangerous, than air racing or aerobatics... is kind of foolish, even Reno air racing is dangerous.

  • @s70driver2005

aircraft is just as much a brain aspect, you don't just have a Tachometer, Oil pressure gauge, Fuel gauge. you have a, Altimeter, Vertical speed indicator, speedometer, bank indicator, turn indicator, G force gauge, and many other instruments you have to read and you better be able to read them in seconds, like a car you have to tune a plane and set it too the pilots likings, there is not just forward backward and turning, but pitch and yaw as well!

  • Are all the races performed over water?

  • @IchiDeux no, I've seen one over desert and one over a race track

  • This looks absolutely terrifying. Can it be taught?

  • I HAVE A QUESTION I STARTED LOOKING RACES ON TV AND STUFF RECENTLY is the actual engine creating all that smoke or what is and why some smoke more than others ??

  • @joo7897 yeah, its the engine that smokes like that, but sometimes instead of the exhaust gasses they can also use smoke generators, its just to let people see where and how they are flying....

  • @weetnietgeen thx man!! apreciated :)

  • @joo7897 no, a seperate oil system injects oil into the exhaust, giving off the smoke we see. pilots are cued on radio for when to turn smoke on. great question!

  • @jessemullins33 thanks my friend that makes alo5t of sense

  • 8 hit pileons disliked this.

  • People prefer car racing over this because most people can actually drive cars, while only a special few can fly.

It's easier to pretend I'm driving a race car when I go to the grocery store than it is to pretend I'm piloting a Cessna.

  • wow didnt know that about knife edge maneuvers but it is logic, youre cutting the air thus you loose lift, simple actually xD

  • why don't I see any female pilots?

  • I want to to do this, but i don't know with who i have to talk and how much ,money is it.

  • RED BULL inspired sports and races are the greatest, beats the normal stuff

  • Most people don't even know this kind of race exists. It has the potential to become a major sport in broadcasting, but a better promoting strategy is needed

  • I love the slow motions in the Red Bull Air Race video's!

  • Very very good magnifique

  • R.I.P Alejandro Maclean

  • 1:45 RIP!

  • H Blockx countdown tu insanity

  • RIP Alejandro.

  • Muito treinamento qualquer erro pode ser fatal. Parabéns para esses pilotos..

  • I would love to fly in those air races. Maybe in 10 years and a hell of a lot more hours in my logbook......

  • good..

  • I love how they play music from the Red Bull B Boy Championships! Red Bull is the shit!!! Respect!

  • It would be cool if they all raced at the same time... But then that woul

    be to dangers.

  • i love this its awesome

  • That slow motion shot at 0:28 is literally the coolest thing I've seen on youtube!

  • fuck bunch of gay guys chasing a soccer ball....this is the shiiit!!!

  • Sigh they should've used this in pearl harbor to kick the Japs ass.

  • amazing athletes

  • they should make a video game off this ish

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we enjoy sports related to aviation and flying?

    (2) How does aviation sports benefits our well-being (physically and emotionally)?

    (3) Why do some females like aviation sport but others do not?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative dieas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter

    imho

    1) coz its something different, excitement value is high

    2) to withstand the g force, the pilot must be fit enough. or else, he will pass out. the pilots must consistently workout

    3) different people, different preference. gender has little to do with it

  • @darrenhwlim

About the answer in question 3, you mentioned that gender has little to do with flying. However, 90% of race pilot are male.

In your opinion, how to attract more female to become pilot?

  • @applesweeter

my answers are just merely my opinion. i guess i am wrong for no.3.

maybe this is a very physical demanding sport.

  • I have some questions about psychology:

  • @applesweeter

    (1) It's the next step beyond automotive racing. Mandkind will always strive for something more.

    (2) Emotionally? Good for most. Physically? lol have fun with your new health problems.

    (3) Some people are attracted to aviation sports and some are not. Women are people, question answered.

  • @CaptainAndrew1991

About question 2, do you think that flying sport can increase a person's bravery and improve confidence in challenging sitaution?

  • @applesweeter Not overall bravery. A person may overcome the initial nervousness of race flight but they will still fear other things.

  • @CaptainAndrew1991

    How about self-satification?

  • just about how much do these planescst??

  • I like to drink red bull

  • Pod Racing can suck it

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I do it in FSX!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh really? Let-me see you do this in the FSX, why you don´t make a Red Bull Air Race videos on FSX? Because you don´t know How fly on an extra 300 on this type of track.

  • i want one of those planes ... looks awesome

  • amazing o_O

  • man i really want to become a red bull air race pilot while im not flying for the airlines!

  • f1 r piec e o cake

  • archs english is amazing =) xD

  • watching this makes me throw up

  • excellent

  • how are these plane compare to world war II planes performance?

  • They are more maneuverable, but far slower maybe half as fast as ww2 planes and can't fly nearly as high, maybe half as high or as far, probably about a third as far. They also can't carry guns or large drop tanks of fuel.

  • havent read up too much on the subject but as the redbull planes can go as fast as 350-400kmh i seriously doubt the ww2 planes could go double the speed or even faster than redbull planes. 800km/h is jet speed not propeller...

  • The P-47 M and the Dornier 335 were both prop planes from ww2 that could go that fast. The reason most planes couldn't go that fast was because they had long wings to increase range, they had a lot of armor protecting the pilots and they carried 6-8 guns.

  • Yes, the Me-262 was a twin-engine jet.

The Me-163 was a rocket with wings and a cannon and was limited to 8 minutes of burn time. It would fly vertically and reach the bomber formations and then glide down for an attack and return to base.

Does this include the Horten 229, it was reported to have flown and been in a dog fight with an ME-262 and reportedly flew faster nearly 100km/h The ME-262 flew 800km/h (500 mph)

  • No comparison possible.

  • better than a Spitfire, and they were the best of the best in WWII.

    Lighter, quicker , more manuverable.

  • leapofffaith20 "spitfire" the best in WW2-I knew you must be from the UK.

  • @Chopin742 the meserschmitt 262 was way better ....

  • The Messerschmitt was slower than the gloster meteor and the P80 which both flew during ww2. I personally would have chosen a prop plane over the me 262 because they were more reliable, responsive and could fly higher.

  • Maneuverability wise they're a bit better, they're lighter though and so may or may not be faster

  • @83cat these planes are much lighter and as a result much more agile.

  • precision is different to accuracy.. precision refers to the being accurate repetitively.

  • Air Racing like this is really really underrated. A lot of people have no idea how hard and dangerous it is. Excellent vid and does anyone have any idea what the title of the song is?

  • The reason a lot of people have no idea how hard and dangerous it is is because these pilots make it look so easy lol

  • @Irfan87 I agree. Very few people could even begin to handle the G forces inside the cockpit, let alone control the aircraft while enduring them.

  • @cobaltjones

Definitely bro, I think racing in general is very underrated. I mean you don't have to go as far as Air Racing, F1 is more than enough, its unbelivably hard.

  • @Irfan87 As far as air racing? These people don't push themselves like F1 stuff does, coz (I don't know why) air racing is much smaller (less competitive? not really) - less popular... F1 is the edge of it all.

  • @vis1067 Im a massive fan of F1. But you have to understand that the G Forces and F1 driver face comes from just the X Axis, whereas an Air Race pilot has to deal with tremendouse G Forces from both the X Axis AND Y Axis. And the G Forces a pilot faces is a lot higher. Vertically and Horizontally. And don't forget that they are flying through NARROW pylons and the vison from the cockpit is very very narrow. And they fly through the pylons at over speeds of 300+ km/h.

  • @Irfan87 YEAH, I know, and UNFORTUNATELY most people in the world haven't heard of air racing. For the size of the whole thing, it's MUCH more amazing than F1.

  • @vis1067 I mean don't get me wrong, F1 is undoubtedly on of the hardest sports in the world, easily top 5, but to say its DEFINITELY harder and more demanding than Air Racing is a bit daft.

  • @Irfan87 I never said that.

  • @cobaltjones thats true im a pilot in training right now and i cant even do 4gs without feeling like passing out!! i hope one day i can be in a air race cockpit!!........... gotta work on pulling gs :S

  • @Irfan87 I so wish that I had the channel!

  • @Irfan87

All rare sports are usually underrated

  • @Irfan87 A lot of people don't know how much skill and physical fitness is required as well.

  • @Irfan87

this looks extremely deadly. one mistake and the pilot is dead.

  • @robocong7420

who cares about nascar!!! one nistake in nascar you lose the race or crash not so bad theres hundreds more!! in this one mistake you lose you life!!

  • me 4...

    hahahah

  • Crazy!

  • that half cuban or whatever kinda looked like a immelman

  • Respect !

  • Damn, i just started flying and I can't imagine doing the things they can do. They are amazing pilots. That has to take a long time to get that good. Maybe that is why a lot of the look to be older guys.

  • Yea, these guys are better than any fighter pilot.

  • most of them were fighter pilots......

  • Exactly, were, they are beyond that now.

  • I wouldn't compare the two. Both are great at what they do. And for the ones that were fighter pilots, they are great at both.

  • Yeah agreed with sammy. Pilots are pilots. We're all amazing no matter what :P

  • no...

  • Fighter pilots also wear G Suits

  • Why do they call it a half Cuban?

  • its a dogfight move developed by i believe a Cuban pilot. he did what was not known at the time called the half Cuban 8. think of an 8 on its side and your only doing half of it.Thunderbird 6 and blue angle 6 for the demo do whats called a reverse half Cuban 8.

  • And now i know! Cool, thanks for the reply.

  • i want 1

  • me 2

  • me 3

  • MAD SKILLZ!!!

  • awesome video! go Red Bull!!

  • Cool vid...nice job pointing out the wing flex at 58 seconds...you can also see the skin pull up a bit....cool stuff.

  • stupid it's not flexing it's called an aileron it's built there to make the plane have a roll.... it's one of the key elements of an airplane

  • He is right, the wings are flexing too if you look carefully :)

And it's normal, wings are made to flex.

  • Yeah, the ailerons are moving, but look at the wing tips: they're clearly moving upwards as the wings flex.

  • look at the wings flex at 57-58 sec!

  • OMG

  • I wish this would come close to where i live! I love to see these in person.

  • cool

  • the cinematography is golden

  • Fucking amazing.
