  • What is with you Idiots? Noise is what it's all about. A Generation raised on Samples and Loops and look what happens. My bet is you wouldn't know how to even approach an Analog Board, much less operate it.

  • @pen64 there is a difference between noise/chaos and controlled noise/sound design. Anyone can turn a bunch of knobs blindly and make crazy sounds on a synth (I do it all the time on my synths - analog and digital) but the real skill is in still having control over the noise. Like Autechre for example.

  • Failures...? What failures? I don't see any– ah, wait a minute.... The failures are those assholes who don't appreciate the FX sides of classic synths, and these are the same assholes who sit around sampling anything and everything, including classic synth sounds... >.>

  • incredible asshole comments here --- if you do not understand that he he shows the depths of it´s features and the quality of the oscillators, why are you here at all ?--- if you only want presets with filter twiddling, there are loads of vidoes doing exactely this!

  • Whatever your intentions were, the video is a dissapointing FAIL, as people looking to hear the sounds of an absolutely classic synth are subjected to this utter shite!

  • bla bla bla. this is the FX part of this synth demonstration. and the other one has got very very cool sweeps which are playing very nice man!!! thanks alot for this cool demonstration suitandtieguy. love it!

  • why is it that i like videos like this, and most of the people just want to hear the typicall shit they allready heared to much in the 80s ?

  • I expected to hear bread and butter polysynth stuff but was pleasantly surprised by someone showing some creativity and taking the synth into some different places - thanks and nicely done!

To the folks ranting about the sounds, please consider finding videos you do like instead of posting about ones you don't. Better for your blood pressure.

  • Okay, I realize this is a demo of the polymod feature, and I'm all for dissonance in music, but man, if you're going to show something so harsh and grating you needed to record the audio a bit better. This sounds like it's coming out of a small TV speaker, and for such a powerful analog beast, that's a shame.

  • I actually thought this sounded pretty good. It's warm and fluid - nothing like the new Prophet 8 or the Arturia stuff. What's wrong with me?

  • I've been buying vintage analog gear for over twenty years, and every once in a while I come across one of you guys who thinks it's quirky and cool to make an analog masterpiece synth sound like a garbage disposal. And it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks you should return this beauty for a nice Roland Sh-201 and keep the left over three grand for some lessons in signal path. mmmkay???

  • go back to your akai mpc or better yet your electribe esx. producer. ha.

  • @Phisheadie97 look, asshole, i gig with more analogue gear than you do and i actually put my ass on the line with it, my music is freely available.

this was a demonstration of a keyboard which did not belong to me which i was brokering the sale of for my friend Matt because he was in dire financial straits at the time. i did not own it, and maybe if you put as much effort into reading as you do to watching U-Toob you would have known that from the video description.

  • thanks a lot thie shittiest sounds and shittiest video I've ever heard/seen on youtube. Congratulations on turning one of the greatest analog beasts of all time into ebay dime store noise box.

  • @Phisheadie97 it's easy for you to do a bunch of drugs and listen to crunchy grooves on U-Toob and get pissed because some Suit & Tie Guy harshes your mellow with some alien nightmare sounds, but some of us actually make music and contribute to western culture. stop being a consumer and see if you have the balls to be a producer and then get back to me mkay?

  • Et apprendre à jouer sur un clavier tempéré? Humm?

  • The aliens arrived !

  • You have to be kidding me right? You have this incredible machine in front of you and all you can do is play "Whats this knob do?" It's obvious to me that this P10 belongs in someone elses hands.

  • Hey whats with the nameplate!? the print's off center!

  • Finally someone demonstrating the poly mod function! This is one of the most exciting features of this synth and yet everyone else plays it like an organ! I don't know if mine needs a service but it doesn't track musically, ie jumping octaves etc. Thanks for the demo.

  • It sounds like you're killing the god-damned thing.

  • why is it that 9 out of 10 vids on here of old synths are people making sounds that are more irritating than fingernails on a chalkboard?

  • did you see my other video? also, i wanted to demonstrate the irritating capabilities of the P10.

  • @chieftp man, when i hear sounds like this I just want to swim in them. Find it hard to believe that one could be into synthesizers and not like all the insane other-worldly sounds they have the potential to create. !!!

  • @chieftp Because they're more interesting?

  • I have one for sale $5000 shipped. PM me

  • iknow where theres one of these but it needs work.... would it be worth the time and effort to get it sorted...

  • yeah i'd say it's worth the time. these things are incredible.

  • ok thanks.. it does work but some of the knobs are very scratchy and a couple of them havebroken off due ot sloppy storage...

they are others in their as well but not sure what they are yet :o)

  • don't think I saw you touch the lower manual, not once... what's it there for..!??

  • soothing sound love sythesizers...

  • lol it probly could blow your prophet 1 away its 2 prophet5's stacked

  • lol I can do the same shit with my prophet one :P

  • look dude i'm sure you think you're pretty smart but that is just not true.

  • ahahah I know...thus the :P

  • PS

I once saw a prophet 10 in a shop, impressive on a first glance I tought : who the hell stacked to pro5 on top of each other like that? :D

  • HAHA. I HATE THE INTERNET.

  • LOL

  • invece di fare il pirla sei capace a suonare o no?

  • there wasnt a lot of them made. and they are in the memorymoog league for power of sound. Great piece of kit...if you can find one in superb nick then grab it, although make sure you get a thorough comb over done on the insides, and watch out for chips that are abotu to hit the graveyard

  • What diference between Prophet 10 & Prophet 5 ?

  • Nothing really, it's basicly a prophet 5 connected to another.

  • Yeah it's just two Prophet 5s stacked in an offest config comprising one unit.

  • BUT, Prohpet 10 is still AWESOME!!!

  • Is it also possible to make music with this thing?

  • Exactly what I was thinking. I can't stand these youtube videos of people demo'ing an incredible analog synth only to waste our time doing noises and sfx.

  • people do what people want. one man's music is another man's nightmare

    etc etc

besides, considering the sonic possibilities of a synth this powerful, playing music with it would exhibit a very small picture (of it's possibilities). random noodling is a better exhibition sometimes.

  • Agreed!

  • @Sturzi yes!

  • where can I buy the mp3? JK

  • Yeah. BIG too lol

  • i played the fuck out of my prophet 10 till the keys came off it fixed it , now beating up a newer syntheziser

  • What a great friggin' machine. Selling it, are we?

  • yeah actually i just got back from delivering it. i wish that i could have bought it myself but alas i was just a broker.

  • There are Sea Devils outside my window!
