I highly doubt you could "blow" a gear with a burnout like that.. once he broke traction on the rear wheel there would be lower friction on the drive train as the tire got hotter and with little weight on it... id be more concerned about engine or valve damage dude :)

well. you obviously CANT blow it if its noit engaged, becuase you cant blow neutral, yo'll jsut blow the engine,. if you hold it at high enough RPM's for a long enough period of time, you'll blow the gear.

i think thats a myth... but i think i just never experienced that because my benz and bmws have high resistance... i should look into more videos that show people blowing first gear lol... ive seen that happen in nascar though.

no german cars have high resistince, me and my friends redlined the car for a good couple of minutes seeing which would go first, my engine. or my wheels. the wheels went out first, and my engine was just starting to overheat

no no... the point was, after a good 100+ seconds of 5000+ revs in the car my engine didnt have any damage. try redlining a honda(car) and itll be done in less then 20 seconds. and the engine just started to go up in temp. lol... my brake pads were pretty much done, and so were tires

then you should know that you cannot blow a gear

you can break primary gears but that will pretty much blow the whole transmission

and sitting on th elimiter wont put very much stress on the gear cause there's no acceleration happening
