@s0undbeast - the word your looking for is "intro" a build up could happen at any point in a track where a new phrase is being "built up" to. :o) eg end of a breakdown (which are not normally at the beginning of a tune.

@NTeC1 It's simple: DJ's use the drum intros to mix tracks into each other. That's why trance tracks start and end with really boring parts.

You don't hear these parts when dj's mix the tracks together, but they are essential!
