This did come from the Bristol sessions, along with 3 others by them (two under another name). I have Billy Grimes on "The Bristol Sessions" CD and "Big Bend Gal" on an LP collection from way back. i hadn't played either in a while - just great!
I first heard this by the New Lost City Ramblers in the 60s,they introduced me to this kind of music bless 'em.
I think this is the only variant of this song.
