follow up paragraph,(see below) look how fast the radiation hit california from japan a few months ago, it might not have been dangerious levels, but look how close everyone here in the US is to each other. that is the worst case but last i heard the fires were less than a mile away form the LAB and i just cant find any info about the distance today.
this report is from an Albuquerque resident; does anyone know how for the fire is from the ACTUAL barrels of nuclear wast especially the barrels that are in a PLASTIC BARN?!?!? i cant find one local or national video showing the distance and to be honest its starting to worry myself and family. any info on how far the flames are to the actual barrels would be tremendous info. alos people around new mexico need to wake up and understand if the worst happens the whole US is compromised .
We just returned from this area. The fires were burning out of control, heading for the tops of the mountains, in one area, and heading for Los Alamos in another. Strange that we can spend billions in Afghanistan, but can't mount an effective control effort in the USA. The other fire, in the Pecos wilderness has been burning out of control for 7 days now, and neither fires are being effectively stopped. Come on America, we can do better than this. Millions of plants and wildlife being destroyed

But you are presenting a Red Herring, because the fire is irrelevant because its affects are non existent, while radiation last a very long long long time, and will kill you regardless if you are in physical contact with the sources of it or not, unlike fire.IE(you have to be near a fire to get burned) This event is just a distraction to what is going on in the Midwest anyway.
@knoose fukushima is still active. i would question if they can handle the new age fires if another natural disaster occurs. its getting extremely hot with constant contracting rains here in fl. more than usu
