  • NOt top gear

  • it looks like a 370z with botox and lip injections.

  • this is what the last civic should've been +TYPE-R

  • WHAT THE FUCK?? V8 = VEE-ET? That the FUCK is this RETARD going on about "VE-ET"s

  • We need an Si version

  • Screw this car, I want a Chevelle!

  • Since when was he on Top Gear?

  • @GavNAlProductions he's on that stupid australian top gear

  • top gear rip off

  • Love the looks but they should definitely make one with a lot more hp as well. I don't think anyone would mind the option.

  • This isn't top gear-_- they should change the title

  • It's ridiculous but the older CR-X from the 80s had a better engine. The high efficiency model got over 50mpg. Why can't they beat it almost 30 years later.

  • pretty cool that honda is steppin up an makin cars tht are creative an cross the line. i like to see tht bc i been seein too much stupid production cars, and when car companies try to make a sports car, it's like the first thought they go to is, HEY let's resurrect something from the past. I don't want the past I want the new.

    Kudos to Honda

  • I hope they make a k-series version.

  • @USSRman45 The K-series has been made redundant..

also - why has this got so many dislikes?

  • @Scholars22 probably the bad quality video?

  • I LOVE MY CRZ

  • would someone please do a review of these cars but with thw AUTOMATIC CVT TRANS good god nothing but stick !!!!!!

  • @1fordhater I think a prius would be better suited for you.

  • @1fordhater I own the 6 spd. The CVT is honestly trash. If you want a fun hybrid, the CVT is going to seriously disappoint. There you go. :-)

  • Its ok but not 20k ok.. Its Nice its Cute. This is Honda's new direction. Nice, Cute, Friendly. Honda's cars have lost its soul. The Crz is a chick car. Cute.

  • Great review thanks! I have not seen a great review like this in a while!

  • People dont realize this is a SPORT HYBRID and not a PERFORMANCE HYBRID

  • solid ha ha

  • i can't stand the sound of this guys voice

  • @rod86 u a faggot

  • Beautiful.

  • this is not top gear

  • @ballickmoyler theres an american one somewhere, but being in America, I only watch the British one lol :)

  • "roude trep"

  • well...for all you who think they should make a sports version, a lovely company called mugen have their hands on one ;)

  • CRZ 0/100 in 10 !!!!! WTF CRX 0/100 in 6 !

  • his voice is annoying. no offence

  • reminds me of a fish, a barracuda, anyhow it looks great looking forward to it

  • IDC....make it non hybrid, and turbo, and there...you'll sell more of them. OR better yet. 4 cyl turbo, along with hybrid! improve gas mileage even further, and give tuners what they want in the lines of ability to modify

  • What a crap car.

  • This looks like honda trying to make up for the absolutely abysmal new civic.

Apology accepted honda. Now gimmee :D

  • i can see why you don't work for top gear

  • i wish he'd have touched on the CVT, the gas mileage, or any one of the car's main selling points besides what he thinks of how it looks, and how it fits in in japan... you know, it's a hybrid. talk about that, genius. it's a two seater, talk about that. how much room is in the trunk? how is the rear window visibility? how does it corner? These are important things... I already know what the car looks like.

  • what is the music that starts in the beginging?

  • great presenter

  • prius ad = win or fail?

  • @sasaltthefries fail

  • who the fuck is that guy?

  • Jap girls digg the cr-z, im getting one!!!

  • this is not top gear

  • fuck advertisement!!!!!

  • Never mind the car,i think the name is beyond sneaky."Test by Top Gear" I LIKE TG "tests" they aren`t too serious and consumer directed.It\s just entertainment. This is NOT Top Gear,so i would call using that title copyright infringement or something.....

    I`m not a lawyer,and english isn`t my 1st language but i think u know what i mean...

  • @35yearoldboy It's an ex top gear presenter who still writes for top gear magazine. I can't see how he can breach copywright by saying it's top gear when it is - magazine or tv show.

  • @siraff2 Was he in old TG?Well as i said,im not a lawyer and not english,so i don`t know the magazine or that stuff.I only know that i HAD expected 2 see a "new"TG test of a Honda. But YouCarPress come across as pretty serious looking at their utubechannel.Thats why i think it was "beyond sneaky" 2 use that a a headline.Im sure he/they r covered by some juridical(?) stuff, but in short:I clicked bcoz i wanted 2 see a "test by TG" and i did NOT get a test by TG. Life goes on:)

  • The S2000 and RSX were the last poweful sweet 4 banger Hondas made

  • FUCK YOU THIS IS NOT TOP GEAR AND THIS IS NOT JEREMY NOR HAMMOND NOR JAMES.... SUCK A FAT NIGGA COCK

  • @41056 do you realize there is more than just one version of top gear?

  • thank god honda is making the 1.6 turbo engine for crz 160 bhp and 200 bhp

  • I think it's an interesting, well-made car. It's not sporty enough for the disgruntled ricer crowd that were hoping that this would be a new CR-X/Integra. Honda are certainly alluding to the CR-X with the name and styling.

It's a nice car, but I'd prefer a purely petrol variant that hits 100km/h in 8 or so seconds.

  • I love my CR-Z! :D

  • @lrenhrda Do you think it would be good for a 16 year old boy with the winters of northern Ohio?

  • @lrenhrda Yes cause you are a chick the crz is a chick car. Enjoy.

  • Great review, I love this little car. I'd swap in my Golf for one in a heartbeat. I wish the M25 did look like that too....

  • @samboolah 2010 gti is cheaper, made better, gets better MPG, has more power, and looks better.

  • @ronkerjake I don't think a Golf GTI (mine isn't, it's the 1.4 TSI 170 bhp) is a fair comparison. The GTI starts at £25k, is a 2.0 TSI with 200+ bhp. Regardless, the CR-Z has the 'grin' factor for me. I don't look out my window and go "man, I love that Golf... it's so damn sensible".

  • @ronkerjake bullshit dude you have no idea i own a crz 55 miles per gallon and plenty of power.

  • @ace2971 Plenty of power? lol

  • Technically, this is Top Gear - not the TV program, but rather the magazine (which is a part of).

    Here's some proof.

    topgear.com/uk/honda/cr-z/road-test/1.5i-v-tec

  • "..you have to recalibrate what you expect from a car. Its a sporty car but not necessarily a sports car..." Well said.

  • boring

  • Why does everyone compare this to a CRX, they are 2 completely different cars. The CRZ is much better than the CRX. If you stripped off all of the required things for emissions and safety, the CRZ would outperform the CRX hands down, in eco mode at that. For this car to be where its at with the way things are today can't be compared to a car 20 odd years ago. You people need to do research on what it takes to build a car now, and compare it to then.

    Also whats the opening song?

  • @mrphrancis013 HOLY CRAP...an intelligent person! Good to see there are other people out there that understand the difference between the two cars. The way people (youtube/forum kids) cry about the CR-Z not being as 'good' as the CR-X is like saying the new McLaren MP4-12C is garbage because it's not as fast as the McLaren F1. Two totally different cars, both amazing in their own right

If it's name alone, then the RX-7 is garbage since it's nothing like the RX-5 it followed. Seriously?

    Kei

  • @Kamukix you're wrong. the rx7 is better than the 5 because it does everything its predicesor did, better. That is precisely why the rx8 is garbage in comparison with the rx7, its heavier, more expensive, less refined, less powerful, less balanced, less atractive, and more ford. The CRX keeping in mind the decade in which it was designed is just as stylish as the crz, however, depending on whether or not you had the hf, or si, more powerful and/or more fuel efficient, cheaper, and more reliable.

  • that's not Top Gear you dumbass

  • @terzolilu American Top Gear sucks.

  • this is not top gear, faggot

  • Not.Top.Gear.

  • anybody know what the starting music is thanks

  • The CR-Z... sigh. Did you know that a 1.5 Honda CR-X of yester-year will give you a better MPG than this new CR-Z with it's hybrid system. The CR-X is also lighter by about 400kg and has only 20 less horsepower.

2 things I really hate in cars. When the older model is better than the newer model and when a car advertises itself as green yet fails in every respect.

  • @RequiemVortex But this isn't a CRX. This also has like 6 airbags, abs, traction control, an 100volt battery, and probably is a little quieter on the road because of the materials used. It should be a bit more upscale than the CRX which I'll admit I do have a soft spot for. As well, I wouldn't say that this car advertises itself as "green." It advertises itself as "hybrid." The hybrid side and econ is represented with some leaves of course, but I would hardly call this green.

  • @photog645

If I wanted a CR-X with increased safety (the CR-X already had 4/5 star NHTSA ratings) I'd by the Honda civic del sol of the 90's with its airbags and its ABS. This was the true successor to the CR-X. Again this car is lighter than the CR-Z, higher MPG and even the base model has only 9 less horsepower. Both the CR-X and the del sol are also much cheaper to buy and insure. They're also pretty indestructible and parts are readily available.

  • @photog645

My issue with the CR-Z is that it serves no purpose. Hondas of yesteryear already provide cheap, safe & efficient sporty cars with attractive styling. A hybrid system has been misapplied in this instance. The CR-Z weighs in at the same as the Insight, it only has 13 more horsepower, it has 2 less seats & 2 less doors. It's £1,000 more expensive and manages less MPG. It's a poorly designed Honda Insight and it's not as sporty or as efficient as a CR-X or a Civic del sol.

  • so jason, trying to ride on the wake of top gear by listing it as top gear. way to fail!

i can see why you are a former presenter!

  • Coming from a Porsche 911sc and a 04 Turbo racing..I love this car and mine has a armrest its a option.. I got 52 MPG first week in econ mode ..I also have 17 inch wheels but will be getting 18inch soon..nice handling , quick, good road feel and no maintenance ..my Porsches were costing me about 5K a yr to maintain properly. Look at yoiut tube CRZ stock at NUrenburg on a race track .. perfect little sports car..

  • britich top gear owns every car show

  • this thing doesn't even have a center armrest. good concept but they dropped the ball on this one. not used to seeing honda fail at something. at least they tried...

  • missleading

  • FUCK YOU

  • I'll be honest, I'd rather spend the money on a Chevy Volt, twice the seating, better acceleration, and I think that looks better than this car too.

  • @GreenJeep1998 Yeah...but...it's a Chevy.

  • WOW he's not a heifer any longer!

  • Same power/weight ratio as a 91 CRX Si, better gearing then an Integra GSR.

People seem to talk crap about the suspension layout, but it's almost identical to the to the 1st generation CRX's MacPherson strut/solid rear, and how many people complain about the 1st generation car's handling? A lot of auto-x racers even prefer it to the 2nd generation.

Honda would be smart to release a K24-powered Si version that ditched all the Hybrid gear and freed up weight, but we'll see.

  • im not gonna lie... i actually like this car... but i also think that honda could do much much better

they should go back and make a rwd sport car

  • former top gear presenter?

no wonder! because he can't even take off his stupid sunglasses whiles addressing the audiences

  • Not to be a jerk but I think I know why he's a FORMER presenter of Top Gear. not very inspiring, pretty monotone. But I digress. Probably want to change the title, cause I don't think this is Top Gear. Its misleading.

Oh yeah the CR-ZZZZZZZZ is fail, along with other newer Honda cars. Too bad, cause they use to be good and fun.

  • @rowsdower12 I agree with the presenter, he is an idiot but I have driven the cr-z and the 1.5 motor in it is more powerful than I expected. The inside is comfortable and spacious and the car is built around it's technology. It will never be a replacement for the civic but for what it was built, it's great

  • @MrBozo88 Are you in the U.S.?? Anyway, I'm sure the CR-Z is a nice comfortable daily driver. And I commend Honda for taking the risk of mating hybrid with "performance." But they fail at the execution IMO. Do you own one or just tested one. Thanks for your input. I know the CRX wasn't primarly for speed but for handling and cheap performance. I think the CR-Z is priced too high, considering the competition vs. performance for the money. Time will tell and we'll see.

  • @rowsdower12 It is definitely an expensive car but I like the fact that it's small and sporty and green. I just test drove it and then researched it. I drove with it for a while and except for the fact that I hardly ever used petrol while commuting ( 100km's a day). It's small and nifty. The shape I like but you can't see out the rear window. What's nice is it has every gadget possible but the price is a major turn-off. Oh yeah, I'm in South Africa.

  • @MrBozo88 I wouldn't call this an expensive car at all. Are things more expensive in South Africa though? In the US it's a little over 20,000USD without too many optional extras (mostly for visual appeal). There aren't a ton of cars under $20k and they definitely wouldn't be considered expensive unless you compare them to similar used models.

  • @photog645

I'm not sure of the pricing in the US but if someone asked me if £17,360 (the UK price) is expensive... an MX-5 is £17,130 and thats a proper sports car with rear wheel drive. As for something more sensible a VW Touran 1.2 TSI Blue Motion for £17,310 has only 6 less horsepower & higher MPG. It's only 1 sec slower to 60 but it can seat 5 more people. In fact a 2.0TDI Touran is 0-62 in 9.9secs so why is this CR-Z called a sports car?

  • @photog645 Here in SA it costs about R300 000 which roughly translates to about $40 000. The price here is about a $1000 difference from the 2litre civic. As a hybrid it might be worth more but definitely not this much.

  • @rowsdower12 why is it fail? And why are the newer Hondas bad? The Civic and Fit are fun as shit to drive.

  • @edyken77 Each to their own. If you like it more power to you. I've been hearing reports of Honda dropping a K20 engine in there. Sales haven't been the greatest, even in Japan. I heard the FIT is fun to drive.

  • I like how Honda went back with the CRX style.

  • Does this car have the new same shitty suspension as the new civics?

Whos gonna be first to drop a K24 in one of these???

  • 2:58 EPIC JIZZFACE HAHHHA

  • less than 100 hp. sporty?

  • @etoyotarockshsucks this car is a failure,it looks great but its not a sportscar, its like a fake LV handbag,

  • @KPKonliner why did you expect it to be a sportscar? The old one's weren't a sportscar. In fact, what car of Honda's is a sportscar besides the s2000 and the NSX, both which are discontinued?

  • this can not be THE (english) Top Gear... jeremy clarckson would have smashed that car with a hammer... or drove it off a cliff.

  • Honda will sell a hotter engine with this car eventually....why wouldn't they???

  • Its cheap at 20g And you save money........IM SOLD!!!!!

  • it looks good but hybrids are just trash and the MPG isnt amazing for being a hybrid. I know im one of the million younger guys who say toss a nice Si civic engine in it and you would have me sold!

  • Let me take a moment to disparage this car.

It's a lightweight with a hybrid powertrain and all sorts of yummy technology but is outclassed by cars from a decade ago.

The fact that Mr. Barlow makes excuses for the CRZ's poor performance (0-60 in TEN seconds?!) is a giveaway to the fact that this is an ad, not an objective road test. He says not a single bad word about it. He also does not mention the fuel economy he got during his trip. Odd, for a hybrid test.

  • @AshtonPhoto Seeing as it's a hybrid, 30+ MPG is somewhat implied.

And by outclassed, do you mean style or performance? Either way, seems like a fun little car, and has the looks of it.

And who cares if it's 0-60 in 10 seconds... It's a hybrid. Most Hondas have terrible take off speeds as it is. Find the 60-100 and it will be another thumbs up.

  • @kbtwinkietwins

It really does look like a fun car, I agree.

However, the entire point of this car is to combine the economy of a hybrid with the performance and handling of a sports car.

The CRZ does none of these things well.

Put it another way. I own a Corolla. This car is slower, only has comparable handling and gets about 3 mpg more than my car.

    That's NOT impressive.

  • @AshtonPhoto I highly doubt your Corolla's handling is comparable.

  • @edyken77

    Point taken.

BUT: Did you see Clarkson's test of the old Corolla?

It's called Old Top Gear Toyota Corolla

  • Oh my gosh.. that license plate.. it's huge! how does it get air?

  • I drove it today and I thought it was AWESOME. Zippy, nippy, robust, gorgeous lines, loved the different modes, loved the fuel economy (5.0 l/100km), loved the colour (brilliant orange metallic), loved the looks of envy when idling at the traffic light, and I really loved the low carbon footprint 117 CO2 g/km. We decided that that car looked good on ME!

  • "Gas guzzling V yet"??

  • @AshtonPhoto V8...

  • its slow because its a hybride i drove to 2days in this car because mine car was for repare in the garage i think its a good car

  • nice car

    honda power

  • This is "Trainspotting" meets 5th Gear, like this car more since I'm also watching a doc, on BP Gulf spill.

  • A neon? I wouldn't say that too loudly. You bought a P.O.S from a BAILOUT COMPANY. GOOD FOR YOU!!

  • Only cocks drive Dodge Neon's Blue Goose

  • @774duke Toyota Yaris is you pie in the sky benchmark? I own a Dodge Neon DOHC that is 12 years old and gets to 60 in under 8 seconds and gets 41 MPG on the highway...with a back seat. There's a lot not to like. The CRZ is not a CRX. Not even close. Its a mouse on roller skates.

  • @bluegoose03 safety.

  • this crz is smaller than a mini! I was in it. i was too big tho.... avoid this sexy looking car its all shit on the inside! i have been there.

  • I was the proud owner of the first and second generation CRX. I am so excited about this car. The CRX line also had the critics saying the same thing they are complaining about now with the CRZ. The fact is I loved my CRX not because of the MPG or performance......... It was just a fun car.

This is a PR film from HONDA. It was NOT done by Top Gear. This guy is a former presenter. They hired this guy to read off a script while he drove around Japan. This thing is a rodent on roller skates that really is a far cry from the CRX. 10 seconds is slow by any standard today. And sorry, I don't need to "recalibrate" my standards for acceleration in a "sporty" car. This car has two seats and is not a convertible. It will not sell well.

  • @bluegoose03 Every review i've read have complimented how the thing drives. Also one car mag clocked 9,4 secs to 0-100km/h (62mph) and still it's more economical than 1,3 Toyota Yaris. Top torque from 1000rpm etc... what's there not to like.
