It's so wrong Lupin dies in the 7th book. Jo could have offed some one else in stead of him. For example Filius Flitwick (sorry). And don't get me wrong, I don't hate him but I prefer Lupin to him. I wish I had a teacher like him. And damn David is gorgeous! I can't find a reason to dislike Lupin. He's just perfect...handsome, smart, friendly...

I ignored the 7th book as well, well.. when they kill him off anyways. Everytime someone brings up how many people Rowling offed, I say to my friends, 'Isn't it awesome how Lupin stayed alive?' They always something like, 'Ummm, no they killed him off.' That's when I say, 'Look... he's still alive ok? Surely J.K was imperio'd by someone who wanted to die by killing off THEE best character in the books.'

I love the Lupin of the series. Minus the lycanthropy, that's my imperfectly perfect guy.

I understand why Rowlings offed so many characters... but I dare venture say that the effect, so near the end of the story was a bit anticlimactic overkill (no pun intended) for me. I know heavy sacrifices had to have been made... but... it didn't add to the whole for me. Wish she had kept those two alive.

Indeed, I think her excuse was rubbish too, because she didn't kill Mr Weasley. ^_^ Obviously it's her book she can do what she wants, but I don't think any kids reading it would have felt cheated if *only* Cedric, Sirius, Dumbledore, Moody, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred...etc, had died. Plus it makes me think she has an unhealthy habit of orphaning babies, in twelve years time will we see the adventures of Teddy Lupin appearing in seven increasingly dark and depressing kids books? ;-)
