  • This is just so weird.

    But in a good way.

  • I heard some Blue Grass in the car next to me a few years ago.....it sounded like 'Enter The Sandman'???/WTF? What a GREAT suprise to luck into Iron Horse that way!

  • I am so happy I stumbled upon this!

  • this banjo is just crazy! loved it!!!

  • that was shite

  • I have listen to several of these Bluegrass tributes and being a redneck, countryboy for all my life, I thinks its awesome.. I like Metallica as well..

  • McBeastlyPwn96, bluegrass has some dark lyrics, how many are about murder, many.

Bluegrass can be downright creepy on it's good days.

  • LOL! AWESOME!

  • This is cool. My grandad is a major Bluegrass fan, and I am a huge Metallica fan. This was good. Now, Why they decided to play Metallica, I do not know. But that's beastly.

  • dude they are jammin` lol

  • YES YES YES YES YES YES YES I HAVE LIVED! GOOD to see the deep south has adopted a a good taste in music without loosing touch with its own heritage

  • this is so awesome!

  • love the banjo pickin :)

  • wow. that was really good.

  • This tune really means what a cover is. A cover is a song made famous by other artist but played with your own style and trying not to copy what the original artist did. Something that many people dont understand.

  • fof all and let me listen this masterpiece :D oh i just fucking love this shit :D

  • Blasphemy!! I'll see them dead for this. (nah its not bad =P)

  • The Chorus is dramatic as fuck! I like it a lot.

  • I'm not a real big fan of bluegrass, but this is pretty cool. Of course, I like metallica'sversion better, though :D

  • That was surprisingly good.

  • People underestimate the power of bluegrass and the banjo. Imagine the fingering and strumming for a banjo, I mean listen to that. It's a LOT faster and more complex than a guitar, although the guitar strings are a lot thicker. I would know, I play both! I just love listening to this!

  • @MetallicAlibi It made Mastodon's riffing style! That band is great too..

  • @MetallicAlibi it is lol but its just not as cool lol its simple as that.

  • you have officially turned me onto iron horse

    i officially thank you

    officially

  • How do people dislike IRONHORSE?! reallly.....

  • This

    Fucking

    Rocks

  • Seen these dudes live at a Cancer Awareness Concert in Athens.

    Kicked...Major...Ass..

'course they Didn't play any Metallica but they still rocked.

  • I headbanged to this.

  • @PharaohForceify

I have to admit I did too.

  • @PharaohForceify I did too! Of course anything "heavy" I can headbang to. It takes the right "ear"

  • @PharaohForceify No, you headbanjoed to this.

  • This is absolutely brilliant. People who don't like it just have no appreciation for musical ability and talent.

  • This sounds like the love child between primus and metallica. Of course they had to raise it up in the mountains to avoid unwanted attention.

  • @LiamKalyan

Although electric guitars cranked to the max is wickedly awesome!

So is this, in its own way!

  • SLASH before my ICE now it's time to DINE

  • From 0:33 to 0:46 it sounds like Paul Mcartney's Live and Let Die.

  • now its time to die... gave me chills the way they said it >:)

  • holy shit this is awesome

  • This version, with those close harmonies, make these lyrics absolutely terrifying. Well done!!!

  • so fucking awesoome, but their not METALLICA

  • @CeNNteR your right.... metallica sucks now

  • If you don't love this there is something seriously wrong with you!

  • Listen to Hayseed Dixie, they're much better at this kind of stuff.

  • excellent.

  • Chickin' Pickin' is so hardcore!

  • this shits fuckin tight yo!!!

  • DUDE I am an orriginal Metallica fan that thinks they have dropped in integrity over the years. This song is from when they knew how to thrash, not just rock. But I, oddly enough love bluegrass too, always have. i think it's the speed of the string instruments that gets me. Anything as long as it's fast. My drugs of choice, speed. My musics of choice, speed. This rocks, so fuck off all yall that say different. It aint as good as the original, but it rocks.

  • LMFAO

  • That was Metallica* x.x

  • x3 I'm a huge metallics fan, and never have listened to any bluegrass before, but I like this a lot :3

  • I'm a Metallica fan, and I fuckin' laughed my ass off at this.

  • you guys dont know metal. listen to black dahlia murder or whitechapel.

  • @KingOfTerrors55 hide from the glaring truth all you like but the quick chromatic picking style of Bluegrass literally gave birth to all metal styles.

  • @trexilll 0.o dude......

  • @KingOfTerrors55 Dude FUCk black dahlia and White chapel Try CARCASS and METAL CHURCH

  • @KingOfTerrors55 hah that isnt metal metal is stuff like sabbath and maiden, all those "hardcore" bands are just bands that sound the same in every song and their singers and bassists have no talent

  • @JoKeRzCaRdProDucTion can you death scream like that? no you can't. shut up

  • @KingOfTerrors55 yeah i can hah it takes about a month to learn, real singing takes years

  • @JoKeRzCaRdProDucTion ok im done, im not gonna be one of the douchebags that argues on youtube, nice talking to you, have a nice day

  • loool at flash before my eyes etc :P

  • @lucipher 138 i htink u forgot about black stone cherry, cage the elephant, tantric, there all from kentucky which is the bluegrass state

  • i live in the god damned bluegrass and im metal as hell. and i like bluegrass, stanley brothers ftw, or ricky skaggs.

  • hey man hillbillies rednecks and metal are related um letsb see PANTERA, CLUTCH,HELLYEAH, BRAND NEW SIN, hell in static x wayne static was asked other than metal what other music he listened to and he said country and western

  • LOLAX!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its almost insane how fas there picking fingers move

  • Awsome. I love Bluegrass. I LOVE METALLICA 1000000000x MORE THO

  • this is EPIC

  • nocturnarboreal is obviously stupid

  • There some stupid and unneccesary arguement going on about "pick, finger and guitar". You all know nothing and are all douches.

Believe or not, finger and pick are two seperate "techniques" in seperate "types of guitar technique" which means " there are different sorts of guitar". I know you didn't understand anyshit, just ignore me.

  • Wow...Love this style of music :) Its way better than the original!!

    Wow, this is knockout :)

  • This is badass!

  • absolutly <3 it!!!!!!

  • lol. Awesome

  • the chorus is awesome!

  • you shouldnt insult rednecks and hillbillies, especially when Metallica's Lead singers last name is "Hetfield"

  • so why he sucks.... thanks for proving my point and filling me in.

  • oh cmon you know he rules thats why you said its a good song.

i mean if James sucked the songs would too.

Perhaps youd rather hear the Jonass Brothers or some Linkin Park instead? Now that really sucks.

  • On that point i think we agree lol

  • @SmokePropaganda

Hetfield is still a dog kicking asshole though.

  • i couldnt pass judgement on a person i never met. I do dig their music though. Ride the Lightning was one of Metallica's best albums.

    Cliff Burton FTW

  • @SmokePropaganda

hetfield is a mexican he was just adopted by a white family

  • @paperchasin23 whats so mexican about this?

  • @worldofurin nothing. that's not what i said

  • @SmokePropaganda yeah look it up james' favorite singer was a redneck

  • Would you be happier if some shitty rap group did this?

  • lol they both have the same level of skill, so my reaction would be about the same.

  • You're a total fucking moron if you really think it doesn't take skill to shred banjo like that.

  • A banjo played in bluegrass style requires an entirely different technique than a metal guitar style. For example, banjo requires finger picking as opposed to playing with a pick, as Kirk Hammet does.

Violins and harps also have strings, that doesn't make them similar to guitar in any way, or banjo for that matter. Do some fucking research before you mouth off.

  • Finger picking is absolutely a skill...no one is born with superb finger-picking abilities right out of the gate. Although some become better at it more quickly than others...some could pick it up in a week, while with others, it could be a year...It still takes time to learn it, as with any "skill."

  • @Anarchyffag

    1. just cuz u played violin in 6th grade orchestra doesnt mean you "play" violin.

2.a guy calling another guy a "bitch" is really feminine and gay, on your behalf.

    3. paco de lucia can run circles around satriani, vai, malmsteen, li, gilbert, petrucci or whatever rock guitarist you jack-off to. de lucia is not bluegrass but he is exclusively fingerstyle and his guitars dont even have pickups or pedals.

    4. youre a loser! grow up, get laid, and learn the meaning of music

  • @nocturnarboreal omg, how can you be so stupid?

  • @Anarchyffan

Music: an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner

  • @Anarchyffan

Now tell me truthfully if you knew the meaning of music.

  • what nightmare said. plenty of people can shred, but how many of those can play flamenco?

  • @Anarchyffan what guitarist makes you shit your pants man!?!

  • @moparman93 NO

  • @moparman93 hush lil wan, yeyeyey, dont cha...hhaha, say a word, say whaaaaat

this is my interpretations of what it would sound like

  • @moparman93 i know right man this is some awesome this no lie when i saw bluegrass i was like wtf this is gona be funny but man this is awesome hope these guys think of doing some maiden XD

  • i dont think this sounds like ride the lightning but nice anyway:D

  • wow... this is simply wonderful. As a die hard metal fan I am impressed.

  • sounds like les claypool from primus

  • or Bela Fleck? :oP Really dig the band and can't believe bluegrass brought me back to Metallica. The circle is complete?

  • Bluegrass is so fucking metal!!!

  • @ContraBoi Banjos and hillbilly voice. Yeah, real metal. I give them credit for making such a brave effort but not metal man.

  • WHAT THE FUCK it is actully kinda cool

  • 0:34 till 0:48 sounds like the musc in the ending of saw :D

  • I like the original version better, but this is GREAT!

  • Ride the lightning is one of my all time top 10 favorite songs but i never really listened to the lyrics till now, its almost kind of a sad song lol

  • Well you know that entire album was about death... not much happiness comes from death...

  • No but a lot of personal growth comes from it.

  • Ya I agree very talented esp the banjo im from Louisiana and alot of ppl dont understand how hard a banjo is to play

  • o yeah bluegrass

  • IRON HORSE IS AWESOME!

  • lmfao. awesome. almost as good as the bluegrass ac/dc

  • I got the Metallica albums as they came out this is actually very entertaning cant go 80 miles a hour all the time

  • This is the most metal thing I have ever heard

  • wow this guys are insane i heard about this band because my geometry teacher told me about it.

i bet the guy in the banjo can play faster than kirk hammet.

  • Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen a banjo player? They move at a million miles an hour; way faster than Kirk. Kirk isn't top dog ya know..

  • ehhhh this wasnt one of the best ones ive seen but i still prefer mettalica

  • HAHA lol that kicks but

  • holy shit!! the intro with the banjo is just insane
