I'd keep the prizes low until you get about..eh..50,000 viewers and THEN start with the big stuff - you'll be exposed (with clothes on) to more people with a greater chance of something hilarious being responded :)

But as for the idea on the competition, I think that humor should always be a factor - sincerity is cool, but gets boring. Judge on creativity :)
