ELR is the most realistic - and funniest - exaggeration of family dynamics ever put on TV. No other comedy has the ability to consistently make me laugh out loud! And where as "All in the Family's" characters were more stereotypes and cartoonish, ELR's characters and situations were much truer to real-life. You can tell the writers spent a lot of time in marriage and family "school," as the scripts were so truthful and brilliant. And the show NEVER lost its quality, ELR went out on top!

I am a black girl and I watch Everybody Loves Raymond religiously, even though they're all re-runs. Throughout most of the shows, there aren't any black people whatsoever, but some how that doesn't even matter to me. I LOVE this show. It's so realistic and it makes me feel like in a past life I belonged to a family like that, or atleast I wish I did. Either way I can relate to them, without even going through similar experiences. I love Marie and Frank!!!
