  • I wish i could find this without the voice.

  • OOOOOOHH How thats takes me back

  • This tune is such a pleasure to hear again. The Los Angeles Times used to run these yellow-tinged oldtime newspaper photos as trailers in 1985 before the main feature was run in the theater. One of the trailers concerned smog--the announcer would tell of the late 1940s in Los Angeles, when "...thick black smoke would fill the air, causing smog" (yellow vintage photo of a woman burning garbage in her 1940s backyard incinerator). This is the music that played softly in the background.

  • To serya, thank you very much for answering my question about the theme I will do just that and lol and happy hoildays, gizmowo

  • As a kid I once told a girl about the channel 44 late night movie theme and I told her how much I liked it and said, "It's sexy!"

  • i used to luv this music!! omG, i thought i was the only one...

  • @nena2grl8 Nope.. You're not the only one... lol!! I noticed the age group that comments here are very close in age.. That means we were all kids watching classic movies late at night (hopefully not school night).. See!! Kids weren't ALWAYS into video games and G.I. Joes and My Little Pony, in those days.. We liked logical movies too.. Too bad todays kids don't see it the same way..

  • I forgot to ask what is the name of the theme song for kbhk 44 late night movie thank again, Coco

  • @gizmowo13

See my earlier post. It is production music used by the film and tv industry, not a commercially available album. Go to killertracks site do a quick search of Lonely Nights and one of the hits that comes up is this track.

  • I love This Theme to kbhk 44 late night movie theme can anybody tell me what is the name of the composer or the band that plays the theme song for this I would greatly appreciate it, Coco

  • @gizmowo13

Me too! I miss those days very much.

  • What year was this??? Nostalgic...

  • The year was 1979. When there were no Gulf wars. Good economy, crime wasn't that high, clean skies, and life was more simple. And smarter people than we have to deal with today.

  • I believe that...I wish I was born earlier so I would've experienced the '70s.....I figured this may have been from 1980 but '79 sounds good. I don't watch tv but I would if stuff like this was back on.

  • i wonder what song they used

  • these were the days. I was about 6 or 7,myself. No cell phones, no internet, no text message, no cds, dvd;s,gps, and all this bullshit. Back when we knew how to improvise.

  • @tknockerson amen to that brother. it is funny my kids will never no that great world of the 70's and 80's. they have all that shit you mentioned and are still saying their board. I told them trying growing up with ten channels and that was our cable system. lol

  • I was 7 years old, when they showed this. Every Friday night, I would watch classic movies at 12:30am. I was seven after all.. Couldn't watch it on weekdays. Love YouTube's Nostalgia!!!

  • The music on this is so laid back and chill. The station ID is just like WFLD 32 in my hometown Chicago. Field Communications had some of the best stations ever. All of this Fox/CW/My Network foolishness just can't touch the classic television we grew up watching during the 70's & 80's. Even my beloved WGN has gone generic-it's a shame!!!

  • @soln4suhreborn

Yes, as stated earlier, that music is so great, brought back great memories for myself of late night movie watching. "Lonely Hearts" from Network production music library NM 007 'On The Town' (S. Olesten)

  • Thanks for the info,I really have to get my hands on some of those music library records,it's good music!

  • @soln4suhreborn i agree if has been ruined just like when wgn went from chicago to national and so did wtbs. Spike tv used to be tnn the national network before that it was tnn the nashville network. funny how shit changes...

  • Vern Wilson had a great voice for the announcing!

  • Oh my goodness!

  • WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! I remember only half of this so well.

  • KCOP also used this graphic for its "Movie for a Saturday Afternoon"

Both KBHK and KCOP were owned by Chris-Craft/UTV then.

  • Oh snap... literally, I think my brain synapse just snapped. This is, hands down, the best clip you've ever posted!

  • I agree. The music (composed by Stefan Olesten) fits the mood so well for this package. Thumbs up, kiddo.

  • Thats what I'm talkin about! DOPE!!!
