Thank you so much for this video! I'm just starting to play the game as a DW (daggers) Human Noble Rogue and was wondering 1) whether there would be enough time to get behind my target after activating Dirty Fighting and 2) how exactly to maneuver my Rogue into the correct position. Your video showed me everything I needed to know. Outstanding help! :D
if you look at the red circle around the asshats, in the back you see a black semi-circle thing. in my opinion, it helps to let me know if im really in the back of the target cause i found out thats the back stab zone. it enlarges after upgradeing to combat movement too.
@Darkoverlord101 You'll start hitting once you reach higher level. Assasin/Bard is probably the cheesiest build, Song of Courage + Exploit Weakness + Lethality stacks with your char's Cunning meaning that you only need to invest in one stat once you've got enough STR & DEX to wear whatever gear you want.
@jefre117 Backstabs are practically Critical Hits (altho you can't Shatter enemies with backstabs), at early game there's practically no damage difference but it gets noticetable later on.
Sadly it's not like L2. I'm through with RPGs trying to be "smart" and "realistic", meanwhile presenting a crapload of bullshit. Not to mention WRPGs are so fucking SLOW compared to JRPGs and Korean ones. Seems like western developers don't have the guts to make a game fast paced and energetic, instead they make RPGs where characters hit like 2 year old babies, with skills like: "5% chance to get 0,5% bonus to atk. for 2 seconds on activation, cooldown: 10 mins" Bah.
I just noticed something REALLY important and rather obvious. The backstabbing zone is indicated by the red circle under the enemy. The black region represents the area considered the 'back.' Get within that angle of attack and backstab damage is possible. Another note...I researched and apparently backstab damage does NOT count as a critical hit, for what it's worth. No shattering frozen/petrified enemies I'm afraid...Happy Hunting!
You don't play games much do you? I can do a backstab multiple ways in real life... That's like saying flying is just pulling up on the steering gears and go.
Im making a rogue and i just want to kno which is best to put my points in dex, str, or cun.....also shud i only wield daggers?.....lastly how heavy shud my armor be (chainmail or leather armor)?
backstab: as long as u are attacking at the black region of the enemies' red marker, u'll get a backstab. the black region will increase in size along with the rogue skill.
i have a dagger in off hand with +15% backstab damage, will this have any effect and will it affect main hand backstab dmg does any1 know? it looks as if you only use the main hand weapon to backstab
Yes you can, sword on main hand and dagger on the off hand. Later on you can use two swords, but the backstab mechanic remains the same. As long as you're a rogue, you just need to get behind them and it's done automatically regardless of weapons (except bow and xbow)
Hmm. Not much of a damage increase there. And when you don't backstab you use both weapons, making straight forward attack much more effective. Or so it seems.
Later on it's far more noticable. This is the first part of the game from the human noble storyline.
When using normal attacks she hit with 1 attack from the main, then the off hand after
For example if yuo have a long sword in the main, and a dagger in the offhand. Backstabs have a far greater damage over the course of 60 seconds. The damage increase is around 50% in this example 7+7 = 14 so almost 50%. Later on, with very strong weapons ITM, the damage potential is huge during a backstab. Y
it went from 7 damage per hit to 12, and it's not a huge increase? o.o
Attack rate stays the same (even if animation only show main hand backstabs), and you get a attack bonus when you're behind the target. The damage boost only goes higher as you level and get new skills too...
the darkened red area under the target red circle is where you need to be for backstabs/flanking with the rogue talent Combat Movement the backstab area is much larger and abilities of the Assassin specialization increase damage of backstabs.
Thanks, forgot to mention this. Being in this area is a good idea to know you're going to do a backstab, and seeing the visual animation of the backstab just confirms it.
Thanks, not what I was hoping for. the problem is the CD Dirty Fighting has :\ too much

Early on they're not significantly noticable, but later on you can bring down tough targets in mere seconds.

@TehOwnerer999 also doesnt cunning affect how much damage you do with a backstab?
