@cr123555 its not true. they have a bad rep because stupid kids buy them. throw a huge turbo on them over boost them without proper supporting mods. and dont change out the timing belt's change oil and do the maitenece required for any car. if you take care of it like you should it will be fine! i am selling one btw if you feel like coming to portland oregon haha
He wouldn't have been able to get a decent pull like that if the knock sensor was bad, when it is, the ECU pulls timing and slows you way the fuck down. Yes, with DSM link you can set it up to use the check engine light light as a shift light, but that light looked too high up to be the CEL and it was orange which would probably make it the coolant light. It doesn't matter if its an EPROM ECU or not either the CEL would come on regardless. And the 1Gs are notorious for showing low oil pressure.

yea you can, its done a LOT on honda's, but its easy to get a real one and install it, and its not like theyre that expensive :P, so there isnt that much need to do it
hey this is a question for all you guys out there i just bought a 94 talon tsi awd, that when i get to a stop it keeps on shutting off, could it be because of the gas it says it needs premium fuel only...and also i just changed the oil i put regular 10-40w and im getting low pressure when i got it it had 3-4ths so that would be normal and now its 1-4th from low do you think its because i need synthetik oil, its the first time i have a car with a turbo so i really appreciate the help
10-40 is a heavy oil, used mostly in diesels, and due to its viscosity, makes higher pressure due to resistance to flow. Low pressure means that your oil pump or bearings are wearing badly, or there is a leak somewhere, which these cars are prone to have. Also, the knock sensor on these cars is very touchy, so if it requires premium, use premium.
are you venting your recirc valve..(Blow off valve) also I run 5/20 castrol. my car has a brand new rebuilt motor and it shows low oil at stops do you have an after market gauge for Oil pressure? the stock one sucks big time.
@josegartt is the bov recirculated? if not that could be why. if it is stock with a stock bov and the tube is not plugged into the intake it will die if you stop without reving it up to stay alive. if you need more help pm me i can give you my number i am a dsm mechanic i can help you
That was with a slipping clutch and a evoIII 16g also was on res so I wasnt getting on it as hard. Now The car has a FP Green to go along witht the built motor, and and other mods.(255lph, hks 272 cams, Cyclone intake mani, 860cc inj, safcII, FMIC and 2.5in piping and full 3in exhaust) 20psi daily.

Check engine light was probably knock sensor. He's got a eprom chip that detects it, most probably.

Most likely its your timing. If thats not the case make sure all your hoses and piping are well connected.

Run synthetic oil
I run mobil1 15w50, and it cutting off when you come to a stop is possibly due to your isc motors in the throttle body being bad.
Mines used to do the same.
This car in video seems decent,
ima guess high to mid 12s.
