I've never really been a Clay fan, but this is a beautiful song. He does it quite well.

He was originally cast to play Flynn in Rapunzel, but was replaced.. kind of hope he eventually lands the role. I think he'd fit the Disney cast perfectly.

And yes Clay Aiken's voice is that of a completely natural singer, and while his voice sounds fantastic here I really prefer alan menkens demo of the song, purely from a song standpoint. To me it sounds like Clay is just smiling throughout, missing the feeling, the emotion and thus the intention of the song.

If they are going to include the mother plot (which was not done in the film) I think Clay Aiken should be seriously considered for the Aladdin part. His is the voice I now hear when I watch Aladdin. Perfect for his second Broadway hit.

Conleth Kane tried really hard to sing this, and he did ok, but he is simply not in Clay Aiken's league vocally. He needs more stage appeal too. Clay could sing for Disney all day long, and he did a great job in Phineus and Ferb too. That voice is just stellar.
