One of my all time favorite country songs, sung by "The Voice", Vern Gosdin. The words are hilarious. Vern is perhaps the greatest male voice in country music history (with apologies to George Jones, of course).

squabs217...Amen to that, but in recent years, when has the Nashville Music Industry considered any need other than its own; to follow the fastest most controllable route to fast bucks; IE soft rock marketed as country. The only hope lies in REAL country music's taking the same rout bluegrass has by developing it's own system of distribution.

If you don't have any of his CDs yet, & wanted to try just ONE, "Very Best of The Voice" is the star! The song on this page is on it, but ALL the songs on it prove the CD's title. I warn you though.. his CDs are like potato chips: You can't stop with just one.

But you'll be glad you're not LIMITED to one; they're addictive! Right, Fans?

This is Vern at his best - the vocal arrangement is tops, the syncopated instrumentation doesn't detract from the lyrics and it's perfect for a fast two-step on the dance floor. Twenty-one years later it's still my favorite Gosdin tune.

i didnt know that he had passed away, it seems like they would have had a big thing about him , like they did for the pice of shit johnny cash. he never had the hits as far as i know as the voice did. he will be greatly missed in country music.
