just to let you guys know i have 2 bfg 8800gts 320mb oc sli and i have a q6600 780i mobo and 4 gb ddr2 6400 and i can't even fricken run crysis on medium im using vista 32 bit i can't run GTA4 with any setting even up a notch.. is there something wrong?? i have bfg 800watt PSU 64amp quad 12v rails!!!
Thats messed up MoneyShotsz3304, I play Crysis at 1680X1050 everything on Very High + The Realism Mod no AA at playable frame rates. Im on Q6600, Zalman 9700 HeatySink, EVGA 780i Tri SLI motherboard, 4Gb OCZ Ultra Memory with 750Watt Corsair 80+ Efficiency PSU- and im getting smooth FPS in all my games including GTA 4, Stalker Clear Sky etc. Have you checked your thermals?
im trying to get my q6600 stablte @3.6 to on the 780i mobo so it shouldent be to hard i can get 3.5 and 3.55 stable but y not that bit more to get 3.6?? ive tryed the v core and ram timings and had no luck any idears thx man
i have the same set up but its 1 8800gts 320mb not 2 and my 780i is on its way getting in 3 or 4 days cant weight to ramp up the q6600 to around 3.5 depending on the chip but yeh nice man
my quad was sitting round 20 idle and i took the heat sink off and relpace the thermal past and it ran at 34 35 idle i was like wtf 10 min a go it was 20 so i took it of a gen and put less on this thime and presto 19 this time
don't you need at least 850 watts to run the thing in SLI b/c I turned one fan on medium and my stock Q6600 fan started slowing down. by the way, NEVER buy a new asus striker extreme 680i mobo unless it was tested working condition. I ran into this problem and I am stuck with this piece.
I always stick to single car solutions as every 6 months something new comes out and is much better than theoutdated stuff. Like the 9800gx2, one card, no sli needed on intel chipsets, and is about 15%better than 2 8800gts 512 g92 in sli.

i just want to know how you got the 6600 stable at 3.6, i have exactly the same setup you have, but just one 8800gt and 4 gigs ram.

You are running at 1.4vcore and you idle at 33C only??? I have a Zalman 9700 on my E6600 at 1.38vcore and idle at 40C.

my quad was sitting round 20 idle and i took the heat sink off and relpace the thermal past and it ran at 34 35 idle i was like wtf 10 min a go it was 20 so i took it of a gen and put less on this thime and presto 19 this time

how wide is the Zalman 9700??
(How much does it out from the mother board?)
Thanks
Renat008 3 years ago
its huge, but it fits in any mid to full tower....works amazingly for air... cant beat watercooling, but for air, this is the option i would go with.
SnapTactics 3 years ago
Did the zalman fit your evga? I heared the 9700 was too big for it.
