Aww bless! I bet he was embarrassed at the attention. He such a lovely man! I met him and was lucky to go backstage. Like you Nureligion I lost interest after Dance. Am loyal fan!
I've witnessed some mermorable nights in the 30+ years I've been a Numanoid but I still can't believe "I WAS THERE" a totally incredible night, one which will remain with me forever. Yes I am biased but It really is time Gary Numan was recognised by the music industry as the legend we know him to be.
@NuReligion Whilst he was slagged by the press and countless others in the past-so many reputable (sp?) bands and performers over the years have cited him as an influence and covered his songs. I think he has kinda got some recognition as a legend. I was quite moved at the end of that clip where the crowd were going..." NUMAN.. NUMAN..." He'll always have his detractors-but then he'll always have his outrageously loyal fans. I'll always love Numan-even though I kinda lost interest after 'Dance'
I was at this gig with my niece..what a fantastic night..the atmosphere was awesome!!!so glad i was there for his birthday celebration..i waited around after for ages after to meet him cos ive never met him, but been a fan since 79, but it took him ages to come out apparently, so guess i just missed him..oh well maybe next time..oh yeah i think Ade Fenton is a T****R too!!!
Fenton didn't even do anything, I mean wow he nudged him with his foot. It was probably really loud there, so what else would he have done, shout at him for five minutes to get him to turn around?
I was there, near the bar at the back, felt sorry for the short lady in front of me who saw nothing!!! Didn't like the fact the venue had no cloak room, sweated my nuts of in my coat! For his 60th i shan't bring my coat, only arrive in my pants and vest. I wanted a bit of that cake.
Good stuff Nadger, we must have been a few feet behind you mate, brilliant show and was a real privilege to have been there and shared Gary`s 50th birthday, I don`t know if it was just us but we could genuinely feel his joy and appreciation of everyone being there ?
Thrilled to see that you caught the Birthday cake on film. I made a point of planning months in advance to be there for this tour as did other fans I met from Spain, the US, Amsterdam, Australia. I wonder if Gary knows that many of his fans travelled across the world for the Replicas album, and his 50th to see him. Soooo many nice folks at the gigs I went to. You are fortunate to live in the UK when Numan gears up for a tour. Thanks again for making the video!!
hello i was there onthe front row right nexty to the person who filmed this, it was first time i saw him and it was amazing, i took my mum as a mothersday present of me and my girlfriend of which we had a great time and also got to go on his tour bus after waiting in the rain till about 1.30am
the gig was brilliant my only disappointment was it was far far far too small we where all packed in like sardines, which in my opinion spoiled it.GARY if you read these comments next time do a bigger venue.
Wonderful clip, thankyou :o) I was there front row with 2 very special friends, and it was an honour to share Gary's evening. I'll never, ever forget it. Happy Birthday Gary!
As always, thanks so much to all the British Numanoids who have been posting all these Replicas tour clips. It's a real treat for those of us who are thousands of miles away and can't make the gigs.
Awesome performance from Gary. I'll admit to being a fan more of the early stuff (Tubeway Army, Replicas, Pleasure Principle, Telekon) than of the later stuff. That said, the remix version of Prayer To The Unborn (which to my shame I have only just found out what it was by searching other YouTube clips) at the end just blew me away - I absolutely have to have that track.
I hope Gary will go on to do at least one more mini-tour like this for the Pleasure Principle album.

Ade Fenton, what a complete and utter tosser. If I was Numan I'd have kicked him off stage. Who does he think he is?
