Amazing acoustic performance! The song becomes more introspective without percussion, different but so beautiful at the same time. I love when David says: "sshhhhh" , so gentle , at the microphone. Awesome!
Serious Moonlight tour - Milton Keynes 1, 2, 3 , July 1993 we went down Friday 1st with no tickets . It was heavy rain that day. We bought some tickets for Sat. at cost price (£15 I think) from some poor soul who was drenched and just wanted to go home, and 2 more for Sun. from touts( £22). Sat & Sun were red hot sunshine. They were thowing buckets of water onto the crowd to stop them fainting in the heat. Best concerts I've ever been to. The charisma of Bowie on stage was unbelievable.
Heartfelt thanks for making us participate in this short (but significant and well described) chronicle: I almost imagined to be there with you. Once again, the attitude of the tenacity and of the perseverance brings its fruits ... and, in this case, a fruit very delicious and memorable. My hug.
I think he gave us a good thirty nine years of music. (I'm sad I never saw him live, so thank god for recordings and internet). I can still listen to his music. I remember him saying in an interview is he had to play his music because no one else would or could do it the way he wanted it. He's still amazing acoustic.
His music has a universal character, but nobody can sing it, interpret it, personify it, make it definitively supreme like him. I heard a lot of covers, even interesting, but they lack the wholeness that only David can give: the quantic signature of his own Soul and his artistic genius absolutely original and inimitable.
@theMusicofmyLife1 some covers have the "wholeness" that Bowie has, but never in the same way, i think you are doing a slight diservus to completely discount them.
but yes i do agree that no one can sing like Bowie.
Sorry, I did not mean belittle any artist who engages to play a song of others with own original flair (on the other hand also Bowie performed songs by other artists). For "wholeness" I meant the summative that I had listed, summarized with "quantum signature", ie the unique imprint of who creates a work carved out from own quantum-field that, in the case of Bowie, is fruit of hermetic genius, very hard to penetrate and offer it as integral gift. Just my opinion... Many thanks.
Dearest Susan, as you know, we can not temporarily see the stars during the day, the sun behind thick clouds, a large tree that will unfold from a minute seed, art that will be expressed from a newborn baby ... Yet, all this is already ...
I hope I can stay here with you and with a good music: somewhere, this tiny potential is already here for coming true to human eyes.
Wonderful story of two friends, Iggy & David, with their own different story. The first, victim of his irrepressible energy, the other visionary conscious even in the most scabrous days; predominantly physical and wild Iggy, very cultured and ethereal David; a provocateur gaily desperate, an elegant poet by self-irony; a self-destructive with 7 lives, a gentleman in ever-changing ... and unforgettable songs were born from this friendship, that made history.
When the songs are beautiful, they are such even if played on acoustic. And this has been the challenge faced by Bowie in the concert.
The acoustic sonority is clean from any effect, the notes are more "round" and less intrusive, the low volume brings out sweet notes and gentle chords, homogenizing the whole.
Then, live: wonderful moments.
A restful freshness, full of intensity, lightness.
My friend, thanks for the comment (and suggestion).
This creative genius seems to have broken all ties with the music and I don't manage to believe it. He could even just make videos, or albums, or write music for others ... How, what can we do to convince him? LOL

Wonder if David ever saw the Gene Tierney's Movie ''China Girl''.....The Lyric would suggest he did.

I love bowie's acoustic version of songs. His charisma is with him, just his voice and guitar are enough! Thank you Fiorella x x x

I know this video very well. It is excellent!
Some time ago I also had some videos of the Bridge School Benefit Concert on my channel. I had to remove all these videos. Please be careful!
