    later ... x

  • Simply my fave sprouts tune from the moment I first heard it back in 1984 on a dodgy Walkman. Still stunning.

  • As far away from Andromeda Heights as you can get in Sproutworld

  • "words are trains for moving past what really has no name" Love this lyric.

  • I used to always skip this track but...holy shit...It's amazing.

  • Mercury Project, your uploads have made beautiful this one delightful little corner of youtube. I can't thank you enough for putting this material up and reminding me how fantastic it is to love the Sprouts! Full honors to you.

  • Thank you.

  • my all time favourite record

  • When I first saw this album on the racks I asked myself "What the hell is a Prefab Sprout?" It's like they were daring you to find out. I'm glad I did. I used to have a poster of this cover over my desk at U.C.L.A and not a day went by without someone asking me "What the hell is a Prefab Sprout?" ....I've given away more copies of this album than any man alive!

  • Turns out the phrase "prefab sprout" is something they thought they heard Bruce Springsteen singing in one of his songs. They met him years later and mentioned it to him, but Bruce had to burst their balloon and tell them they were mistaken, that he'd never used the words "prefab sprout" in any of his songs. True story.

  • lmfaooooo i cry from laughter every time i hear this song

    BOO BOO

    BA BA

    BOO BOO

    BA BA

    BOO BOO

    BA BA

    (booooo...)

  • JDSHIPP: Thanks, Friend. I would probably never have known where the name came from otherwise. A BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN lyric that he never sang. Who could have connected those dots? One of the GREATEST BANDS ever.

Maybe Bruce should just go ahead and write a song called "PREFAB SPROUT". I'm sure PADDY can supply the stellar words...You ever wonder why great songwriters NEVER get together anymore?

Imagine the collaborations, the great music that would flow!

  • What a great idea! I wish there was some way to make that happen - it would be a beautiful way to bring that little tale full circle.

  • great album... check out two wheels good ...has a cover version of he'll have to go another great song from prefab,,,

  • Indeed lol. I really couldn't bear to be special and as result messed up my past relationships so his words mean a lot to me. I remember the moment I first heard this song, when I was 16, 9 years ago now. It great to look back and see how I've changed and the song has a deeper meaning to me lol, I no longer want to cry when I hear it lol.

  • Another great Sprout song. Can't think of any other artist who's wrote so many GREAT songs

  • And they're great in so many diverse ways, Paddy's brilliance stretches in every direction. These songs have been blowing my mind for 24 years!

  • @sproutyDP Absolutely! I'm just eternally stunned how fkin talented this guy is! Musical & Lyrical genius!

  • First to comment :-) Love this song, ta for putting it on :-) Boo boo ba ba!! lol

  • Thanks for the first comment. You're not the only one who loves this song. At first, the lyrics sound esoteric but the more you listen to them, well, you find it sad when you understand them. Paddy has an uncanny ability to point straight to the heart of a situation by including the listener in the experience he's talking about. This song reminds me of me in so many past relationships. Boo Boo Ba Ba, Boo Boo Ba Ba! - How the hell did he come up with that??? Pure Genius.

  • It just came to me - "Boo Boo Ba Ba" is the sound of someone crying very hard. Genius indeed.

  • Screaming LOL!
