Gigabyte P55-UD4P Motherboard

i got the A model, which has USB 3 and Sata3 6/Gbs, got 8 gigs of ram (2x4) and it even has a FDD port!!! expensive as ever, but well worth it, i'm certain you can drop 35 Lbs on it and it'll still work! the P55 gets hot when running dual gigabit and 3 hard disks with a Blu-ray drive.

@ninjaturtle205 X16 and X16 is perfect for SLI and crossfire, X8 X8 is okay for sli and for crossfire, you may see a very miniscule drop in performence, not noticable though, X8 X4 is okay Crossfire, but not for nvidia SLI, you can however, run Nvidia PhysX in X4 pciE

Just wait like another 4 - 5 months until they bring out something newer than the X58 watch the X58 drop in price and then buy the X58, even as we speak there is not that much price difference between an i7 1333 & Core 2 LGA775 so I would only imagine that a dew months down the track prices will only drop, old hardware in some cases are better.

yeah the gulftown prossesor has 6 cores and 12 hyperthreads and is socket 1366 so will be compatible will x58

These new P55 motherboards don't seem worth it in my opinion except for the new i5s I've heard of lately.

The only reason that is, is using Triple channel ram when the motherboard will only use 2 channels. And like you all say over here, SLi/Crossfire isn't really worth the trouble for it.

yeh, I have to agree, the sli on most p55 are oretty bad (3 way sli is 8x 8x 4x i think) whereas x58 is usually 16x 16x 8x or something like that and the tripple channel ram for more ram

Yes there are 3 way SLI and CrossFireX boards but it's not recommended as 4x for two cards is very bad. Just use two cards at max.
